We have returned after a wild couple of weeks off and chat up the goodness for y’all. This weeks focus is social commentary and talk back radio, brilliantly portrayed and prophetically also in the Oliver Stone film “Talk Radio”(1988). We chat deep on this one as well as the social commentary around it. We also discuss the new Superman film BTS pics floating around. Toys, comics and a Jake medical story that’s wild. On this episode, we chat over the new Predator vs Black Panther comic, Jake gushes verbal diarrhoea over his acquisition of the FAUST omnibus, before we have some laughs over first reactions to the Crow reboot, gushing over the new Alien: Romulus trailer and more, before discussing a non zombie George Romero film, that in true style, hits the beats of a great social commentary. “Bruiser”(2000) is a commanding film that we can all relate to, but more importantly it has TOM ATKINS and THE MISFITS!!!

In this exciting episode, we first chat the new Motley Crüe track and talk about the vibe of replacing key members in your favourite band. Jake gives us the rundown on the new X-Men comics and we chat new Blood Hunt and then finally discuss our joy at James Gunn’s first image of the new Superman(old news, but we ain’t a news show hahaha). This weeks movie is a good one as we talk about”Stone Cold”, the 1991 action movie debut of NFL player, Brian Bosworth. Featuring a killer cast, soundtrack and shit blowing up left right and centre, this movie hits all the right notes(even the hilarious action packed bike chase with the disappearing bandana). Enjoy!

Grab your deck, drop the fringe and be rad with your fave idiots as we recap the finale of the AWESOME finale of “X-Men 97” and then get nostalgic about the skateboarding culture of the 80s and bit, before discussing a criminally overlooked film “Gleaming the Cube”(1989). Starring Christian Slater and a very young Tony Hawk, right as both were on their respective upward star trajectory. This is more than a skate movie, it’s got a lot of cool elements and we had a rad time with this one, even if we both confess to being horrible skateboarders. Enjoy!

On this weeks slight detour episode, we pay tribute to the late great Roger Corman and his impact on Horror, as well as tribute to Susan Backlinie(Jaws). She will be forever remembered as the greatest Horror movie extra in one of the greatest scenes of all time. We chat the new Marvel “Blood Hunt” comic book event series, and other bits and pieces before chatting this weeks movie(not Ginger Snaps 2), “Van Helsing”(2004). Celebrating 20 years, we discuss the joy of a film packed with many beloved classic monsters, not see since Monster Squad. And we feel this movie may have been a little over-packed, but our critique’s are all out of the love we have for these characters and enjoy so much of what this film offers. Enjoy!

EPIC ROCK N ROLL EPISODE ALERT!!! This is one for the ages as we chat the Marvel crossover event that started it all with “Conquest of Champions”(1982). Jake tells us about the rad new Transformers comics making the rounds, before we salivate over one of the best rock albums of the 80s with The Cult’s ‘Sonic Temple’. Such a killer album! We also share our 10 individual picks for 80s power ballads. You’ll be surprised by some of our selections. We were. And then we finally get into this weeks rock n roll movie pick “Streets of Fire”. The 1984 rock epic featuring an all star cast and a killer soundtrack, as we discuss some interesting(and obvious) parallels with another Walter Hill classic “The Warriors”. This is a good one. A RAD ONE!!

We love this movie and give you all the best reasons why, as well as a bit of a fun feelgood Jake Time story from Halloween and my experience working with Alice Cooper. A landmark achievement unlocked as we celebrate 75 episodes of RAD and deliver to you an epic episode with all manner of randomness as well as a chat about the 1993 flick “The Three Musketeers.” A perfect film with a perfect single for the soundtrack. He worked as part of the KNB FX team, led by Greg Nicotero(The Walking Dead), who are behind so many great movies we love, including this overlooked gem. Chad gives some great insight into working behind the scenes on the practical effects, working with Rebecca DeMornay, as well as random laughs and even a humorous chat about penis props from Boogie Nights.
