Today’s Topic: Our system for setting priorities

In episode 167 we talked about the bucket systems we use for our financial goals. Today we’re covering our bucket system that we use for all areas of life. I have four buckets - health, business, relationship and play. Kim’s added a fifth bucket - contribution - to her system. The idea is to do the best you can to work on each of these areas every day.

Today’s Topic: My Keto Experiment

Keto Guido’s transformation from a pudgy Italian to the guest host of the Chippendales got me pretty excited about keto. However I sort of overlooked that he eats mostly plants and a little bit of fat here and there. I went all in on the fat and didn't know what to eat so I ate nuts until my stomach sort of blew up and cheese until I started developing a puffy face and woke up with snot coming out of my nose because all the cheese created a lot of mucus. I felt incredibly full and satiated, but I was getting fat. In fact, I gained 15 pounds in a month. 

So here’s our wrap on what we learned and how I’m eating now.

A lot of people think they’re going to put a product out into the world and make a million dollars, and we’re here to tell you it doesn’t always work like that!

There is an excellent book we recommend called Go Giver and it’s all about creating stratospheric success through giving and making an impact. 

Here’s our take on the important principles in business:

• Your income is determined by how many people you help and how much you help them. So if you want to achieve your goals, help others achieve their goals by putting their interests first.
• Figure out what people need. This involves building an audience before you create a product and asking people what they need (within the parameters of what you want to offer).
• Know your worth and overdeliver. You need to really wow the people that you work with and deliver a ton of value. But you also need to charge for your product or service because there has to be reciprocity.
