  • FNBB 33 - It's That Time Of Year - You Deserve To Treat Yo' Self

In the infamous words of Tom and Donna from Parks and Recreation, it's time to TREAT YO' SELF. It's the Best Day of the Year!

I get the Treat Yo' Self itch at least once every year and I am definitely there right now. I know that Christmas is Coming and if there was ever a time to treat myself, it is right now.

This blog and podcast are your permissions slip to do the same for yourself. Do it! Treat Yo' Self.

Thanks for indulging us this Friday night. Follow if you want. Read if you want on my website https://llmcshane.com.

Have an awesome weekend - Till next week!  LLM

  • FNBB 32 - I Hate It. I Love It. The Rut Is Real.

I make a lot of fun of Mike for the workout rut that he does every morning, without the realization that pretty much everything we do is part of a rut that we have put together for our everyday life.

When we had to move outside of our rut, life was kinda chaotic and we yearned for that old rut. We needed normal and familiar.

Change is good. But there is nothing like that warm blanket of the rut to keep you feeling safe.

If you enjoy our little podcast diddy, make sure to FOLLOW so that you will be made aware of new episodes. But you can pretty can rely on the rut that this podcast and blog will be available every Friday night.

    Till next week - LLM

  • FNBB 31 - My Marriage Can Really Suck Sometimes: A Love Story

Mike and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary this week. I've had several young people and couples ask how we have lasted this long. I am quick to say to althought being married can really suck sometimes, I am married to my best friend. We are a team - we succeed together and we fail together.

Finding someone who becomes your family without being actual blood is a gift. And he is mine.

I swore to Mike I wouldn't get mushy in the actual blog/podcast, so I'm doing it here. He'll never read this. :)

  • FNBB 30 - People Pleasing Isn't Your Job - Being Your Own Boss Is

We moved our 22 year old daughter to Los Angeles over the last week. Things got real, real fast. She'll do fine, but we left her some advice before we left and the main advice was - Follow your gut, listen to your intuition. They will serve you well.

This is advice we can all follow at any age in any location.

Short outro tonight - I'm tired.

If you enjoy the FNBB, you know what to do - FOLLOW.

See you on the flippity flop.

  • FNBB 29 - Go Back To Summer Camp And Shake Your Booty

On this week's FNBB, I am recounting our trip to Lake Norris with friends and their friends who we had never met. I talk about how it was a lot like summer camp when we were kids - you don't know each other at first, but little by little you open up and even get a little vulnerable before you have to say goodbye at the end of the week.

Making new friends as an adult is not something that is done on a regular basis, but highly recommended. There are so many people out there with so many stories and great things to share. Don't close yourself off.

Thanks for listening tonight. As always, we appreciate it and  look forward to recording from Los Angeles next Friday night.

Stay well - and SUBSCRIBE! And sign up for my email list at my website https://llmcshane.com. Till next week - Cheers!

  • FNBB 28 - Fasten Your Seatbelt; It's Going To Be A Bumpy Night

Post-pandemic will not be anything close to Pre-pandemic. It's like trying to get things back into a packaged box after you've opened it. It's not happening. This week's blog is the encouragement to fight the overwhelm with sitting in the moment and even, dare I say it, meditating to connect yourself with the here and now.

There are so many things around us that we have no control over that we spend so many waking hours worrying about, but with good quiet time we can learn to sit with the uncomfortable and let it wash over us instead of controlling us.

Call me woo-woo, but I've been meditating 3 years and it is a life raft when things get crazy. I'm not perfect and I have to remind myself to rely on it, but when it's there, it's a godsend.

One day at a time friends.

  • FNBB 27 - Don't Let The Crack-N-Fail Make You Crash-N-Wail

This week is a bit of a bicycle rant.

Basically, be loyal to the companies that are loyal to you - even when supply is low and demand is high.

That's all I gotta say about that. This weekend I'll be out riding for hours on my Janky Ass Cannondale Super 6 with it's mix-matched fork.

    Honk if you see me.

Hope you'll catch us every Friday - it's not always a rant. And we mention beer, but this blog isn't about beer. We're just drinking it while we record it. It's a gentle dance.

    SUBSCRIBE if you dare.

  • FNBB 23 - I Can See Clearly Now The Dirt Is Gone

On tonight's Friday Night BeerBlog we are discussing how I let loose of my purse strings and hired some experts to clean my windows. It was a big move because I had tried to cut financial corners and do it myself last year only to spend 5x the time and less than 10% of the result that they got. And the difference is amazing.

Sometimes you just gotta let got of that "I can do that" emotion and get somebody who knows what they are doing to get it done for you. It's painful, but helpful to spread the wealth in the end.

It's a lesson my thrifty self continues to learn continue to learn over and over. Let go Wilma!

Thanks for listening tonight. It was a lively conversation with Mike on a beautiful Friday night with low humidity in the midwest. Hotter days ahead, but enjoy what you've got while you've got it.

SUBSCRIBE if you dare and leave a "favorable" REVIEW and RATE only. hahaha.

  • FNBB 22 - A Successful Saturday Depends On Sunday - Friday

Hey all! Well, I'm in Eastern Kentucky all ready to do my first Adventure Race. I'm doing it in a team of 2 other women and we will be paddling, trekking, and mountain biking to find up to 20 check points at Greenbo State Park.

I was just going to go with the flow up until a week ago and I figured I'd better prepare at least a little. And then my ADMIN side took over and I started prepping as much as I could. Because I KNOW, that if I don't prepare and prepare well, that tomorrow will absolutely suck.

And that is the same for anything, I mean anything, you want to do well in or at - sports, life, other. A well-prepared person will always do better than someone who is going on pure talent. Even Muhammad Ali was always first to admit that training sucked, but it made him who he was.

Thanks for listening tonight. I hope you got a moment of enjoyment out of it - that's why we do it.

Stay tuned for a new podcast next wednesday.

My website is https://llmcshane.com if you would like to sign up for updates. I am also on Instagram @llmcshane and @lamcshane.

    Till next time - LLM
