On this week's episode, get the tea behind Steph and Tina's relationships as they dish about the pros and cons of being in an interracial relationship. They'll share how they've navigated the language and cultural barriers, share their immigrant stories and Asia's education system (their bfs would not have made it), and what they've learned about themselves along the way. Tina dishes on how you can get closer to the parents if they're korean (hint: k-dramas are your best friend) and laments on differences in food preferences that prevent her from using as much fish sauce as her heart desires. Steph dances a fine line between parties and reading, and struggles with the Mexican custom of greeting one another with hugs and kisses amongst loved ones (if only they did air hugs). Despite all the differences and struggles, the girls truly appreciate the value of being immersed in another culture and the growth that has been facilitated through such an invaluable experience by learning how to live life through a wider lens aka you can read AND still enjoy parties!
The girls learn some hard lessons on what not to do on vacation. Listen along, so maybe you can avoid making the same mistakes on your next getaway! Tina goes on a trip with her boyfriend's family to Las Vegas and Utah and gets traumatized at a Chili's (hello discrimination). Steph is shocked that Tina was on her phone at the dinner table but Tina can explain... Language barriers with your boyfriend's family are the the worst but luckily, Steph has some exeperience and shares her advice with Tina. Steph went on a girls trip to Tulum and ended up losing a friend. While that was a bummer, Steph snorkeled and got robbed for the first time. Tip: don't leave your stuff out where you can't see it! While the vacations did not go as planned, the girls express their gratitude for for being able to travel.
Note: This is a late release of an episode recorded last year.

Now that summer is wrapping up, the girls retell their exciting adventures of their summer vacations! Tina went on a tropical getaway (if you can call it that) to Hawaii and Steph takes a European tour through Austria and more! Tina and company go through a few snafus on their trip and end up throwing their money away, and Steph is moved to tears on her trip and learns that there is no such thing as customer service in Europe. Steph also reveals an exciting long-time dream of hers that she's been contemplating and gives an inspirational speech that moves Tina to do better. Tune in to an episode of fun adventures, mishaps, and following your dreams! Follow us on our socials: Instagram & TikTok: @friendsafter5, Instagram: Steph @stephchristabel, Tina @tinahoneyy
To celebrate Tina’s official move to Los Angeles, we discuss all things city: concerts, food and construction. We also discuss the well maintained parks and pathways in the suburbs where there’s a tree every ten feet #typical. It’s no secret that the girls despise driving in the city. $20 parking and street sweeping tickets - no thanks! We end with a fun would you rather. Unpopular opinion: we may like the suburbs more than the city. Because we discuss the issues that people experiencing homelessness may face, for every listen to this episode, we will donate $1 to American Family Housing (afhusa.org). American Family Housing is a nonprofit that provides housing stability to people in Orange, Los Angeles and San Bernardino. It also helps fight food insecurity. We encourage you to make the donation too (if you have the capacity and you want to)! Follow us on our socials: Instagram & TikTok: @friendsafter5, Instagram: Steph @stephchristabel, Tina @tinahoneyy
The girls share some of their life updates after a few weeks off - Steph goes snowboarding and is once again traumatized by her experience (although it can not be compared to Tina's first time skiing - all-time traumatic experience and will never be repeated again). She also gets to revel in JB's presence in downtown LA, but faces the perils of LA streets and rush hour traffic. Tina reveals her new workout toy in an effort to start exercising again (she's a fraud, she admits it), how she almost got scammed on OfferUp, and offers some tips and red flags to watch out for when purchasing items second-hand.
After another hiatus, the girls are back and better! Tina went to Las Vegas with her boo, and didn't party until 4 AM (shocker!). She did live her best life eating at michelin star restaurants, watching shows and going to free happy hours though. Steph went on a family trip to New Mexico. While they enjoyed the national parks, the asian food on the trip left something to be desired... The girls then discuss what fitness means to them, and their fitness journeys. Tina and Steph reminisce over the days when they would go to spin together after work. Tina shares her thoughts on how her relationship has affected her routine, and Steph gives a motivational speech. The girls chat about what they find fun about fitness, and end with some goals for this upcoming year.

The girls are back with another episode after a brief hiatus featuring a very MAJOR update - you don't want to miss this one! Tina turns 30 and reflects back on her life with some very sage advice and wisdom. Trust us, Steph left feeling very inspired (or so she says). The girls also discuss the current dating culture and how backwards it has become, Tina talks about her birthday plans and her extravagant gifts (from who??), and Steph is learning how to manage her workouts around her accounting class. Tina also reflects on how important friendships are to her, shares some hard life lessons, and offers some life pro tips. The girls end the episode with a quirky game of "Would You Rather?" questions that Steph also asks in her interviews.
Steph throws it back at Game Day #gobears with her little sister, and gains a secret admirer (or so she thought). Sofia joins us to talk about her life which includes lots of twists and turns! She's moved from Guatemala to the US and now she's back in Guatemala. Who knows for how long though? After she completes her MBA , she may be pursuing another masters in Spain. From dealing with childhood bullies and being the bigger person, Sofia has gone through a lot. She couldn't have done it without her mom though. It's always been the two of them, and Sofia gives us some insight about what it's like when your mom is also your confidant. We find out that Tina knows a surprising amount about Latin culture and can relate to Sofia about parental pressures to settle down (LOL).

Fall is here, and we are so grateful for that (amongst other things). Tina went on a Hinge date, and shares the deets on her date's Korean Drama like past. Steph feels burned out so the girls may start planning a trip somewhere. DM us with your suggestions! It's been almost a year since Tina moved out and she's learned a lot (not cooking though). Steph shares what it's been like since she got promoted and what she's doing to continue to grow. And the girls discuss how (not) to emotionally dump, the minor changes they've made to their routines, and how to adjust to change.

On this week's episode, the girls go back to school with the one and only, Leslie Kam! Not only is Leslie a medical school graduate, but she made the adventurous decision to study medicine abroad. Leslie shares why she decided to go to medical school in a different country (Taiwan), the difficulties she faced as an international student and how she overcame the language barrier, and the culture shock she initially faced. She also shares the typical experience of a Taiwanese medical student (hint: there's A LOT of karaoke), and a group class project she orchestrated for their white coat ceremony. Lastly, the girls discuss how to train for a triathlon, because according to Leslie, that's the only way she can force herself to exercise.
