Friends After 5 episodes

  • Immigrant Moms, Tiger Moms and More

Oh mama mia! Here we go, on this week's episode, the girls discuss their relationships with their moms. Tina wishes she could speak more Vietnamese with her mom, and Steph wishes she could party with her mom (jk). We stan moms, but we are not a fan of the... tiger mom. While it is a stereotype, Steph and Tina discuss the aspects that are true, and how that kind of upbringing can lead to a need for therapy. This wouldn't be an episode about moms without any mom perspectives so we asked our moms some questions and they answered (27:10 -30:55).  Follow us on our socials: Instagram: @friendsafter5, Steph @stephchristabel, and Tina @tinahoneyy

  • How Saying Yes Changed Our Lives (and how it can change yours too)!

YAAAS QUEEN! It's all about saying YAAAS this week as the girls discuss how being open-minded and saying a simple  "yes" has allowed for new opportunities and people into their lives, helped foster a growth mindset, and helped them to establish more self-confidence and self-esteem. They also provide advice on how to get over the fear of starting something new and being "bad" at it, because trust us, nobody can be as bad as Steph at volleyball (or any other sport that requires hand-eye coordination...or disc golf). Then, the girls challenge themselves, and YOU, to try something new that they've always been afraid of doing! If you've ever needed an accountability partner to face your fears, then this episode is for you! Follow us on our socials: Instagram: @friendsafter5, Steph @stephchristabel, and Tina @tinahoneyy

This week's episode is juicy ya'll - you don't want to miss this one! • Stop AAPI Hate

Anti Asian hate crimes have risen to an all time high, increasing by over 1000% in some counties - a scary statistic that is barely garnering headlines in the media and news reports. Steph and Tina deep dive into a heavier topic this week, troubled by the atrocious crimes being committed against Asian Americans (Steph even does some research this time!). They discuss potential origins behind why these hate crimes are occurring, the model minority myth that has perpetuated deeply imbedded stereotypes against Asian Americans, and offer resources/organizations that you can contact to help. They also discuss their own experiences with veiled racism, and end it on a more light-hearted segment on Asians in media representation where Tina confesses her love for Korean men, specifically, one Korean man (ooooh who can it be?!).

We're back! Talking about a subject that is near and dear to our hearts... our career paths! As two 20 something year olds, we discuss our previous work experiences from "housekeeping" to making cold sales calls.  It was a wild ride, but we ended up at the same amazing company where we met each other (whoop whoop).
