  • From the Middle - Condiment Bites, Neighborhood Sites, and Blood Draws ‘Til White
#206. Happy belated Memorial Day! For many of us, this is a time to kick off the summer season with barbecues and cookouts, and from Tajin to Mustard and Ketchup Doritos, to a Flamin’ Hot origin story, we have the condiments covered. There’s even a nugget of accidental condimenting via contaminated tongs. But that one’s a delightful surprise. While Dillon continued his perfecting of the griddle burger, Kendall went camping with his family and Kory spent the night in his hammock. Both have comments on what the outdoor neighbor situations did to their relaxation, which leads un to another neighbor question. How much should you care about unkempt lawns in your hood? This one requires some feedback and maybe some hate mail. Do you live near someone who needs SB Mowing to swing by and do a satisfying YouTube video? Also, Kendall is wondering if it’s ok to lie to your kids to make yourself look smarter and Dillon has a gut wrenching and light headed experience while getting blood drawn. Did you pass out listening to his story? Do you also lie to your kids? Have any suggestions on future guests? Tried any amazing lobster recently? We want to hear all about it. Follow the LinkTree below to let us know! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Sheet Music, Pickle Weasel, and Dodging Concrete Basketballs
#205. We transition from talking about the skill of reading music to funny screen names, then right into how Dillon’s head is having a Sebastian Maniscalco moment. And that’s just the first few minutes! We then move on to being excited for seasonal activities and Kory paying a visit to the warehouse of pool chemicals to say hi to the scrappy personnel at the front desk. Speaking of Kory, he’s back from New York where he found a new slab of meat to consume after the hungerfest that was a vegan experience. On his way home, a basketball made of concrete tried to smash his face in, but due to questionable driving habits, he’s ok and thinking more deeply about how to best raise his kids. What we’re building and streaming this week: Two Guardians of the Galaxy LEGO ship builds for Dillon, Shrinking with HARRISON FORD and jason segel, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes: Say I Won’t, and Mad Men. Join in the fun via the LinkTree below, and until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Creepy, Freaky, and Cheeky with A Celebrity, Stromboli, and Charcuterie
#204. We’re back! Kory, out of character, tried a plant-based restaurant while he was in (or on) the island of Manhattan and we discuss our reactions; both to the idea of such a place and his experience. On the flip side of that patty, Dillon broke in his new outdoor griddle (much more in-character)! And since Kory is still hungry after horticulture cuisine, we end up talking about what we hope is a tongue-in-cheek midwestern charcuterie board. For dessert: all natural fruit bars. Remember last week’s story when Dillon scared the crap out of Ohio State’s Offensive Coordinator? Will, it seems the Hubbell haunting of Brian Hartline has continued. And after all the food and chance encounters, we wind down with what we’re streaming. This week we discuss Beef, Schmigadoon, A Man Called Otto, and John Wick: Chapter 4. Follow the LinkTree below to continue the discussion! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Correcting Simple Tasks and When a Little Service is a Big Ask
#203. Florida had nice weather!? Kendall is skeptical, but Dillon approved. Speaking of Dillon, he’s back and had a much better experience with the flights. There was a tram issue, which brings up the question: how do you feel about correcting a simple task for someone even if it might make them look dumb? Dillon is a very smart guy. And though he might not be able to efficiently figure out scanning a barcode in an airport, he does have the brains to know when a large box won’t fit through a small hole. Shmilton could learn a thing or two from him. On the back half of the episode we devolve into whining about the service industry. We put on our orthopedics, hike our pants up to our nipples, and wonder if the good ol’ days are gone forever. Join the complaining! The LinkTree is there for you to air out your thoughts. Use it freely; but remember, until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Air J’s Heights, Baby J’s Lights, and “First Day” Blights
#202. We bet a handful of you are listening to this episode via Apple CarPlay right now. Better this than Ed Sheeran for the millionth time. There’s nothing like the trauma of smashing buttons on your car stereo to stop the madness to turn you on to cycling. You may, however, have to talk to a stranger at a bike shop who knows more than you. You’ll overthink it and feel intimidated no matter how nice they are. It’s almost as intimidating as the first day on the job as a restaurant server. Either way, you may just need to take the tips as you get them. In streaming, Kory watched Air and learned the history of Nike pursuing Michael Jordan. Kendall watched John Mulaney: Baby J and learned some sneaky lighting tricks. We missed Dillon, and amidst the neurotic thought processing, you will, too. Speaking of whom, sometimes you need to quickly get in and out of Kroger like a rainstorm is coming for your own retribution. Trying to make sense of that? Check out the episode! • From the Middle - Wrexham, Wriders, and Wrevenge
#201. Onward into the 200’s for us! Now that we’re established, we had to come up with our venue riders. What pesky little details would we have on our list of requirements should we take our talents on the road? Our answers are probably a little more “middle” than green M&Ms. Also, if we’re on the Deadpool and Rob McElhenny’s radar, perhaps send us a deal! We’re up and comers who would like to corner the European market so we can hang with Stephen and try the regional chocolates. We have quite a bit of streaming to catch up on as well. This week we mention Leanne Morgan: I’m Every Woman, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Beef, American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing, Designated Survivor, and The Pez Outlaw. We hope you enjoy while teaching your kids to ride bikes. Follow along and join in via the LinkTree below, and until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Milestone Memories
#200. We said it one hundred episodes ago and we’re here to say it again. Thank YOU for letting us get this far. Just like we learned and grew through the first couple years, we’ve arrived two years later with new (and old) friends, memories, and lessens. In this episode we take a selfish look through episodes 101-199 and we share our favorite moments, or at least we summarize them with witty comments and questions. It may be a thing of posterity for us, but we certainly hope that each of you feels some ownership and finds enjoyment as we walk through a bit of our lives together. After all, that’s what makes this little corner of the streaming world tick. If you have kind or funny words to share with us, we’ll gladly share them in future episodes. Just follow the LinkTree and drop something anywhere among those places. Thanks again! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Easter Resurrection, Farm Store Lumination, and Star Wars Celebration
#199. We are almost at another milestone and we’d love your help! Follow the LinkTree below and choose your desired method of sharing your favorite moments from the past 200 episodes of the podcast. We hope to share some of your messages in our 200th episode! But for this week, we talk about our Easter moments from our personal celebrations of festive Hoppers hiding eggs, Gaither our thoughts on school fundraising, and pray in The Cathedrals for our favorite new driver. Disney dropped a bunch of news to give the Star Wars fans a Greater Vision of future content, then we move along to what Signature Sound and video we’re consuming. This week we’re watching and listening to Gospel Quartets, Jimmy DiResta’s Making Fun, and Pepsi, Where’s my Jet? Until next time, be kind to each other!

  • From the Middle - Early Mowing, Entertainment Merging, and Exasperating Missions
#198. For those taking the under on Dillon mowing his lawn since the last episode, this is a good day for you! For those who had a computer-generated NCAA basketball bracket, it may be a better day for you than those who poured over each pick. And for those looking to bet on Conor McGregor vs. Roman Reigns, your day may be coming soon. We talk about all of the above before trying on a new segment for which we can’t figure a succinct title. For now, we’re going with “Things That are Annoying Disproportionately to the Effort Required.” For example, unplugging chargers from home to put in a travel bag. Kory discovers a very cool LEGO building app and Dillon is NOT watching Fall. But we are watching the Studio C YouTube channel, The Watcher, Jackass Forever, Rush, The Mandolorian, Bad Batch, and MH370: The Plane That Disappeared. Please chime in with your annoying tasks and other thoughts via the LinkTree below! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Jungle Jim, Cruisin’ Coty, and Baptizin’ Bob
#197. Chomp, crunch, hmmm, glug, ick. That sums up the first portion of this episode as we try some exotic chip flavors and a seasonal soft drink. After snack time we get into our normal potpourri of topical discussions. Spring is so close that we can smell it. Perhaps it’s too early to be mowing lawns, but to Dillon’s dismay its already happening. It’s also too early for any kind of decent fishing, but Kendall doesn’t care. Speaking of cold and rainy, Kory made some guy bike for twenty city blocks to bring him five things. The tacos and/or delivery guy may have been soggy, but Kory’s wallet was plenty lighter. After then begging for sponsorships, Kory logs a heartfelt moment of sharing a milestone with a dear old friend and spiritual mentor. We finish off with streaming including Outlander, Ted Lasso, and The Queen’s Gambit. Do you have any insights or stories? Have you ever tried the champagne of dairy?
