  • From the Middle - Liar, Liar, PAC-12 on Fire
#216. We start with realizing we are being lied to all the time. Airline employees, friends with too impressive stories, aliens not existing; as if we don’t know the truth is out there. This ties into a traveling story which transitions into a discussion about airport etiquette. Our opinions are so strong on these things that they take us all the way to the break, after which we dive into some off-season talk of college football and conference alignment. Much like a good Marvel film, the recent moves in the NCAA landscape have some major implications. We then catch up on a ton of streaming including The Beanie Bubble, Happiness for Beginners, The Imitation Game, Captain America, Port Protection Alaska, Step Brothers, Eurovision Song Contest, Hijack, Survive the Raft, Knock at the Cabin, and Quarterback. Join us for an hour! We figure we’re only lying to you about ten percent of the time. We think it’d be really fun if you tried some social journalism with us and reported back via the LinkTree links. More information in the episode! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Aging Hopes, Take-Out Jokes, and Dropping Remotes
#215. We’re getting older and we don’t care! Other than the regret, everything’s fine. While Kory was on an airplane, Dillon and Kendall sat down to try to figure the odd communication quirk of a server Dillon had. Was it actually attentiveness and service at its finest or just weird? And then he encounters a joke(?) from another food service professional. He’s not sure if it was a joke, a jab, or an honest comment on his pizza choices at a certain time of the day. Lest ye be judged is what we say. Leave a man and his pizza to his own business. After the break we discuss the term “remote drop” and hear a surprising viewing pleasure of Christopher Nolan which leads to an ode to Will Ferrell. This week we’re watching America Ninja Warrior, Secret Invasion, Wants, and Jumanji. What are your “remote drop” movies or tv series’s? Let us know via the LinkTree below! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Pauly Shore, Processed Cheese Foods, and other Fun Things to Embrace
#214. Wipe the grime from your mouth, hop in the Gladiator, and get ready for some comedian snuggles. We’ve got a special one for you! In the top half we do some brief catch-up with comparing Indiana Jones films as Kendall is walking through the franchise. Dillon raises an interesting article about foods that people claim are sus but are actually bussin. Then on the back half we hear a Comedy Store story for the ages from the point of view of an avid fan of the industry. Is that the scent of Pauly Shore and Bobby Lee on Kory’s clothes? Listen and find out with the overwhelming tale of held embraces, love letters, and red lights. Not a lot of streaming in this one, but there is some experiencing of Leslie Jones, Pauly Shore, Bobby Lee, and others. Have you ever met a celebrity who was important to you? Let us know! Use the LinkTree to share your story via whatever method you choose. Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Soha, Yeet Me to Middletown; Indy Needs Peaches
#213. This episode is SICK! Not like yeeting out your lunch into a toilet sick. The good kind. In studio, Kory tells the tale of trying to escape the storms to make it home to his family. No plane, local car rental, or even a travel agency could help. But one heroic woman stepped in to save the day! In an equally action packed and epic event Kendall bought a few peaches. Then just as we weren’t gaining XP in the streaming department the past couple episodes, Dillon comes in clutch with some refreshment and entertainment. Between the Hubbells, streaming this week includes The Banker, Ghosted, Shrinking, Real Madrid: Until the End, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Alone, Lewis Capaldi: How I'm Feeling Now, Tom Segura: Sledgehammer, Suits, and some Formula One. Also, Happy Birthday, Amy! Join in the conversation! Ask us some etiquette questions! The LinkTree below has all the ways of doing that. Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Water Sucks, Sasquatch is Real, and the Trout are Chubby
#212. “I’ve had my nighty-night Gatorade and string cheese so let’s go!” The trio that is From the Middle has reunited after a couple weeks of working around travel and we are ready to share stories! First, we dream up a midwest approach to an ad campaign with the purpose of quenching the thirst to see reality in the market-use of Gatorade. Then Kendall shares the sweaty yet fun experience of Northern Michigan. He saw SASQUATCH! Dillon had a family reunion trip to another area of the midwest and found some delightful raw fish in the most unusual of places. Then Kory and Dillon spent some sweet time with family at their grandfather’s place. Ups and downs, funny and sweet, frustrating and beautiful. Like all good family vacations, these had it all. We’re not streaming too much, but we do mention Here Comes the Boom with Kevin James, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Formula One, Jury Duty on Prime Video, Hot Ones, and peanut butter. Are you a Jif family? Let us know via the LinkTree below! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Blood Draws, Gen-Z Blahs, and Get Off Our Lawn
#211. Hello friends! Kory and Dillon are off spending time with family while Kendall records an episode with his wife, Amy! After years of trying to figure it out, Kendall may have just sorted out what it is she does at work. Also, the two trade questions about Gen-Z’s office jargon while otherwise complaining about America’s youth. Come check out the fireworks, just stay off our lawn. And let us know if we’re getting too old via the LinkTree below! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - G.I. Joe Gaming, Grimace Goodies, and Generative Graphics
“We might be idiots, but we have ideas.” Apparently, Dillon and Kory have always felt that they belong in the brainstorming and conceptual conversations that take place in the brainstorming/storyboarding rooms of big and small screen studios and video game companies, and innovation and R&D labs of game and toy manufacturers. Like, why isn’t there a Battlefront-esque video game “reskinned” with well-known G.I. Joe characters and vehicles? Why hasn’t anybody made a sandbox video game like Red Dead, but one takes place in medieval Europe WITHOUT including dragons and magic? And speaking of medieval times, why isn’t there a line of fully-articulated, 3.5-ish-inch figures from that period of time? If rich idiots thought hopping into a used piece of tubing that smarter people warned was unsafe at certain depths of the ocean was a good idea, then we should be consulted on the things we know a little bit about. Don’t ask us about the big money of sports though; we’re not sure how to tackle that Gordian Knot. We’d need the wisdom of Solomon for that one. Speaking of Solomon, that guy was a little all over the place with his nuggets of wisdom. We’re watching Super League: The War for Football, Jury Duty on Prime Video, and Kory finally watched Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

  • From the Middle - Motorcycle Mayhem, Chinese Cuisine Coaching, and Flying Fancy
#209. We hope all the dads listening and the dads in your life had a great Father’s Day! We all did, and we share our gifts of swag: A Wrexham FC hat, Blue Jordans, and an Arm Cannon. We do some gaming talk, specifically about young children and games which may be too difficult or possibly too violent, but they like, “Really really want it.” Kory went on a motorcycle ride with a bunch of leathery, cool strangers and gained some real life experience while meeting a famous YouTuber. Kendall gained some life experience dining from the secret menu at a Chinese restaurant while being guided by a kind Chinese family. Then we learn about how YOU, with only a few thousand dollars to burn, can fly commercial like the celebrities! Maybe it’ll calm your stresses of traveling so you don’t go into a claustrophobic panic and try to exit a plane while it’s still in the air. We also discuss our preferences of consuming left-overs as we sit and binge what we’re streaming. This week we’re watching the Arnold Schwarzenegger documentary on Netflix and Down to Earth with Zac Efron. Chime in via the LinkTree below! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Small Towns Revisited, Shibumi Tents Reviewed, and Shady Types Revealed
#208. We’re all here! We might not sound as smart as last week’s gentlemen, and we aren’t, but we do have midwestern small town charm. It also means we might live among monsters, but if we did, we’d be oblivious. Almost as oblivious as beech goers blocking your view or motorists parking with their rear bumpers impeding traffic. Anyway, we fight over what donuts are called and we complain about awnings being too loud. Dillon shares a backlog of streaming which includes Tetris, Ted Lasso, Monster Factory, Shiny Happy People, Across the Spider-Verse, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Check it and respond with your regional linguistic trivia. The LinkTree below will you show where to take those thoughts. Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - The Warm, Safe Embrace of the Machoke with Harrison and Jordan of Grief Burrito
#207. So Kendall and Kory have British accents now. Either that or Dillon found himself to be the cozy meat inside of a GRIEF BURRITO! That’s right, with Kory and Kendall out, Dillon called up Jordan and Harrison from the podcast pride of the United Kingdom, Grief Burrito. The three manage a fun episode of our usual style of potpourri topics. Some natural, some forced, but all as smooth as a side of mushy peas. From small town films to the latest in the gaming world, they hit on some good media topics while also discussing some humor amidst suburban life. Playing, streaming, and neighbors. A perfectly wonderful Middle episode with some English flair. Thank you, bois! Please join the fun via the LinkTree below, check out the Grief Burrito podcast, and until next time, be kind to each other.
