  • From the Middle - Old Souls, Old Jingles, and New Liquid Currency
#225. Maybe we’re not so middle as much as we’re old. We enjoy old dude phrases which make little sense, we pine for the commercials and jingles of the good ol’ days, and we still can’t figure out what the kids are doing with all the new-fangled sports drinks on social media. A new experience more our speed is finding a quaint place to sit outside a small town convenient store with a bag of corn nuts. If you find that relatable, you’ll love this one! We then get into a social etiquette scenario which involves obligating the unwarned use of an acquaintances kitchen and fridge staples. Then it’s onto streaming. This week we mention Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, Invasion, Ahsoka, Loki season 2, Band of Brothers, Pacific, and Masters of the Air. Share your nostalgia and PLEASE tell us what the deal is with Prime and why it’s on instagrams everywhere. You can follow the LinkTree below for that. Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle #224 - Concert Balls, Poké Balls, and Soccer Balls
#224. A missing patch has been located, U2 is trapped in a giant bubble, and the NFL has been playing out on a young boy’s bedroom rug. The twists and turns of the first half of this one will have your head as blown as a kid’s mind in a card shop! Yes, those still exist. In the second half, Dillon shares his first experience at the new home of the local Major League Soccer team followed by a thrilling story of trying to safely find refreshment in an unfamiliar urban environment. We have a thought provoking update on gas leaks in homes, then we share our list of current and future streaming including Yellowstone, Ahsoka, Suits, Brooklyn 99, Loki Season 2, LEGO Master Season 4, and Welcome to Wrexham Season 2. Do you have like stories to share? How about questions or topics? Follow the LinkTree below for all the places to share with us! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - White Rhinos Sucking Back Capri Suns After The Game in Record Time
#223. Like John Dutton wrangling up the prairie beasts on the ranch, Dillon spent some family time with close encounters of dangerous animals at The Wilds in Ohio. Did he make it out alive? Tune in to find out. Kendall and Kory have been spending some more time among youth sports noticing the antics and copy-cat on-field celebrations. Did they make it out alive? You’ll just have to listen. A man downed a Capri Sun in record time. Did he DIE of BRAIN FREEZE? Should we try our luck? Click play. Finally we talk a bit about New York food vs the world. Who will reign supreme? We’d love to find out. Notre Dame certainly didn’t come out of the weekend intact. What other death defying stunts should we discuss on the podcast? Use the LinkTree below to tell us. Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Ballin’ in Autumn, Burnable Air, and Bobby and Andrew
#222. There’s rarely a special edition soda that sneaks by us, and Coke’s Y3000 and Mountain Dew Voodew are no exceptions. We recommend one and spit out the other. We then rush right into some light college football and NFL fantasy talk before hearing the epic of Kendall’s Saturday including life-threatening danger and saving the children. Then it’s the attack of the robots with spinning blades that could sever small plants. As long as we are on death defying stunts, we nod to the Columbus Underground and their tour of restaurants that we’re all surprised still exist. On the back half, Kory has some incredible encounters with comedians and podcasters. One thing leads to another and nude drawings happened. Finally, there’s a proverbial party in Ohio and every city is invited! Find out the shenanigans some of our towns are up to. Leave a question, comment, or topic via the LinkTree below. • From the Middle - Proper Service, Pimple Stickers, and Pumpkin Spice
#221. For a whiny trio of dads, we sure do have some nice things too say about two of our favorite companies’ customer service skills. Good job Branded Bills and Tecovas! Back to the whining; why in the name of hot sharts are these kids highlighting their acne problem with stickers? Even bad complexion deserves a gold star now? Dillon admits to toeing the line of froo-froo coffee and liking it (Kendall does to.) Then we take a bit of a dive into fast food apps and have some suggestions for friend of the show, Taco Bell. We then talk commercials, make you listen to commercials, then talk commercials some more before catching up on our busy schedules, bad M&Ms, and streaming. This week we’re watching NCAA and NFL football, lawn mowing on YouTube, Cringe Hub and People Getting Mad on IG, John Wick, Port Protection, Cocaine Bear, and Painkiller. Share your thoughts on all of it! The LinkTree below is waiting for you. Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - The Least Offensive Hot Pop
#220. You think you know how to operate a fridge, then you end up in a hotel with a foreign appliance which is not labeled intuitively and now you have to ponder the possibilities of hot pop. What do you do? You know what would be even worse? Having to preserve the block of cheese you just spent a year’s salary on in that device. Speaking of cooling things off, Oliver Anthony, the singer/songwriter who recently went viral with an indie music video, had to throw a wet blanket on the political fire which has been flaming. Speaking of enflaming, peanut allergies are on the rise and we don’t know why. We also don’t know why an airplane passenger wouldn’t give you more elbow room if they clearly have the opportunity to. And how about that opportunity Coach Prime seized on opening college football Saturday!? That game was on FOX, so even Spectrum users were able to watch it without using a streaming service. Did you know you can stream your Playstation screen to a mobile device? It works as flawlessly as Max Verstappen’s F1 season. Listen to how we string all of this together then use the LinkTree below to share your thoughts! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Kölsch Traditions, Cozy Restrooms, and Voice Acting
#219. Did you know that if you stretch out end to end each individual trip an average family with three children takes per day it equals the distance from central Ohio to Germany? You learn something new everyday, even it’s from an unreliable source. Today, I learned how to type the ö in Kölsch! That’s a free-flowing libation that you could try in Germany someday instead of taking your kids to school and soccer practice. Kory had a great time experiencing it for himself and had an all around great trip to Deutschland with a pilot who’s read a lot of modern effective leadership books. Before an extensive streaming discussion, Dillon shares an amazing bathroom experience and ponders a related question with us. What’s your favorite public restroom experience? Let us know! The LinkTree for that and more is below. Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Schedule Heating Up With No Chance of McFlurries
#218. Join us we wipe sweat off our brows for another hour of regular talk. Dillon and Kendall are coming in hot and ready like a cheap pizza to hold things over while Kory is on the other side of the world. As the middle class guys we claim to be, we talk lawn maintenance and our new experiences in the oasis of the midwest where the water flows like McDonald’s real estate profits. Like they say, if it’s time to overseed, it’s back-to-school indeed. Our kids are getting their schedules mapped out and our families are transitioning to the crazy. We have an adorable little cameo from a young aspiring LEGO master. Then we take a quick break. Speaking of breaking, the thermometers broke today along with guess-who’s ice cream machines! Yes. That again. After some complaining about an evil plot to sell hand-held pies, we wade a bit into streaming with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Suits. More discussion leads us down the road of noting how the streaming business is changing and what it could mean for you. As always, share your thoughts, stories, and questions with us via the LinkTree below! Until next time, be kind to each other.

  • From the Middle - Class Reunion Dread, Turtles Retread, and Food in Bed?
#217. It’s Kory’s birthday week! If you ask Dillon, it’s more like Kory’s birthday century but it’s fine. Seriously, one of the world’s newest 39 year-olds is a wonderful guy and worth celebrating. Why not do so with a “donut cake” and potentially getting together with everyone you went to high school with? A class reunion is due, may or may not happen, and we ponder the question of in the social media age, are class reunions antiquated? Speaking of antiquated, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is out and Kory enjoyed it with his kids. Does it do the job of reviving a nostalgic story or is it drawing in a new crowd? Similarly, Kendall saw Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse with his kids and we share some takes that are artsier than a hipster typing away on an Apple product in a new local coffee shop. The back half is filled with one of our favorite things in the world: food. Do you eat in the bathroom? How about in bed? Do crumbs in sheets bother you or is that a space reserved only for your fancy-fizzy-princess water? Finally, have you ever low-key celebrated after eating? Follow the LinkTree below and find a place to drop your food opinions and whatever else is on your mind! Until next time, be kind to each other.
