When Abby first became pregnant she knew she wanted something different from the cookie cutter hospital birth experience. She hired a midwife, thinking she would provide the support she really desired. The birth of her daughter left her confused and in shock. Abby shares how she healed from postpartum depression and birth trauma, using many of the same skills she acquired on her healing journey of recovery from addiction and trauma. She goes on to have two hospital births, but when she got pregnant with her fourth pregnancy she knew she had to honor her deepest desire to birth in full sovereignty.
