everybody Pasha to Valentine Candace of Brighton technique enjoying a very very luxurious saturday afternoon at providence palace busy weekend actually so far while thursday i don't normally work thursdays but we had a pretty big event here i was working with some young promoters who doing a regular night at a club in brighton audio think the club is but that's closed for two weeks while they know two months while they renovate and it's going to be called something else so they were very very excited about their new venture and i think
rather over expected the attendance because they kept saying to me you sure you've got security if she got this dessert and I kept sayin I've put on lots of gigs boys I do know what I'm doing and only about 60 people actually came so although they they tried really really hard and they had all these numbers that they phoned at about quarter to ten that gig was due to start at ten o'clock so had all these numbers so all went around like a text like you know in the old days of the raves and stuff like that was that same kind of thing and either very
very cool and very you know sort of walking around and slightly elevated posture and which was lovely you know and i genuinely genuinely hoped and sort believed that it would be a pretty good turnout so i had extra staff and you know you're prepared to turn people away one in one out to the day it had smoke machines and lights and a mess up the DJ booth and you know it's all teach me all ready to go but yeah just probably maximum 60 people and which was it was quite funny having the the smoke machine you couldn't actually see that there were big spaces with nobody in it so it's quite funny but yeah so that went on till two

and they were very well behaved and yeah I mean it's lovely to see young promoters coming up through the ranks and trying to do stuff on their own but it's there's no mean feat putting on an event we know you've got to get people round the corner for a start or not not in a main road and it was a secret gig anyway so you put on a secret gig it can't be that secret you know you've got to make sure that you get the right network but yeah it was a nice working relationship and I'd be quite happy for them to put on another one and although I've got a

feeling they'd probably lost quite a bit of money by the time they've hired the sound system and everything so that was thursday and friday last night I had my open day at the arts cafe and that was really lovely although only one person really came to the open day because everyone else who came was a friend we all got very drunk that was really nice I've turned the upstairs at night into something that's very cozy have taken all the books down some tables and change all the lighting so it's red lights not quite because the gallery's really stark which is fine for the daytime of course you want to see the artwork but it doesn't give a nice sort of casual feeling at night to kind of sit round so yes it's open mike this says that if you come over might you will see my newly refurbished arts cafe and it's just gorgeous and nobody wanted to leave it they would left at six o'clock in the morning which is you know they were in for the long haul country and so yeah that was nice and a pole and Joel from answer of my

colleagues who wrote them in the band they were here Thursday and pose got us some new toys for the band to play with so we've got an electric ukulele which I must learn to play obviously I think we're going to paranoid both going to learn to play it or he's got one as well he's got one up in petersfield and we're going to use the same book like how to play you know when these kids books so that we can progress together but em he plays guitar anyway and I've been a cellist for a long time so you know translating shouldn't theoretically be too much a problem I just not just leave a word...

hey wallet-sized pastor valentine counter to grind in hackney actually having a bath despite the chaos that you come here behind me and there is a door at the palace which separates the bath from the main floor where all the events happen so I'm not actually having a bath in the midst of a load of with people and they only sound weird because they're setting up for

tomorrow's festival there's actually a lady I'm very very excited to see and she's she does this kind of live performance using sewing machines which are linked up to DJ decks so it just sounds [ __ ] brilliant I'm really really excited about that and I'm not going to play your portrayed or anything of that because I want it to be an absolute surprise the performances start off at two o'clock tomorrow finish by about eight that's all the live performances and the stalls and stuff like that and you know the kind of straight sides no no no that's not true

because the bars going to be open from two and tomorrow is my weekend so I'm getting on it from two o'clock the vodkas coming out after the hellish week I've just had a farm girl kept by the way talk about that in a minute anyway yes so the afternoon is more for kind of performances alternative performances talks videos stuff like that and kind of a little bit more serious if you like and then after that eight o'clock is the massive party because these people and they're not all women there's just as many men out there as there are women but they
have committed so much time and effort for weeks now getting this project off the ground they were at the dome all day today that they all look run ragged to be honest so we're really looking forward to a big fuck-off party tomorrow and I'm pleased that they chose Providence
Palace tip to host it and to you know to set up in and yeah really really really really really really excited about it can't wait other good news today first single from our album from arts Robert is ready I've did put it up on a broadcast just a minute ago so we put in today's day if you look at my radio channel it's goddamn radio and spreaker which
is what you're listening on but you might not know that depending on where it's come through but yeah if you go there to the one before this that is my single our single the wonderful Joel and Po and myself really really like this track I mean weird as [ __ ] but that's what happens when you put three very different artists in a room or not even in a room necessarily sometimes we record stuff when we're not even together and we just send it to each other and that's the beauty of digital media and I think we're really embracing that even though po and I went school together and we are people of a certain age that doesn't [ __ ] matter mate because i'm using this technology to the best that I can and don't

joined the other day interesting people with lots of really interesting things to say so it's nice that I've kind of got out of that whole party scene and moved into something much more serious because actually although I host lots and lots of parties I think deep down I might be a serious individual and I really really get off on creativity and I really get off on knowing people and discovering new things and looking at talin and I'm really responsive towards other
people's talent it excites me interesting it fascinates me because it doesn't come from my

head so yeah there were lots of people doing poetry that I'd never heard there was a guy an Italian guy and he was doing kind of recitals a narrator maybe I could describe him as so it wasn't poetry or rhyme it was quite a long piece actually probably about 20 minutes it is on our speaker radio everything from yesterday from the open mic to you if you pan around on spring he will be able to find it and he did this whole piece and he did to actually did one about procrastination I don't think we recorded that one I think we'll do that one next week and the other one I honestly can't remember what it was called now but yeah that that's on the week we've basically we recorded for an hour and then we turned it off because otherwise the

program can go on such a long time and I think after an hour people's concentration maybe gives up a little bit so what we're going to do every week at open mic is get everybody to do one or two pieces that they're particularly proud of or that they want to you know they've got a message and important message or something like that and then we'll record that on this on the radio channel god damn open mic that is and then after that we'll turn the recording device off and it can just be a little bit you know a little bit free or ever also we've decided not to record that in-between bits you know like the brakes because although

we love the world in the world is a wonderful place and although goddamn media is actually about true archives people forget that they're being recorded and you know sometimes they can say things that perhaps they didn't want you know 60 millions of people to hear and I don't get me wrong we haven't got 60 million viewers or listeners yet but we will have in about 40 years because they're going to study goddamn radio and goddamn media and everything that we put on the venue they're going to study it in you nice all over the world so trust me if you want to be part of the archive that the world archives that will probably last for a millennium get down to the get down to the venue and do some stuff with us so yeah met another lady who'd hurt does kind of talks and workshops about I think it's kind of

relinquishing control over all the an obsession with control and using that to create art at least that's how she's that's how she's going to bill it when she does events in the future because she's booking know what she's cooking a weekly regular and two day workshop so she's sort of connecting it with art I don't necessarily think that that's entirely what she does I think how relinquishing control thing is more about personality...

hello everybody can testify Brighton hackney in the bath as always a little bit earlier tonight left work early because I had a terrible terrible terrible day exhausting day and it all started last night after I'd am i recording my Diaries I'm thinking about calling them the vent because it's almost a way for me to vent my extreme emotions at the end of the day but maybe I'll think about it I think it's a really good title for a program anyway maybe i'll do another program called the vent which involves the whole of bryson or something they can come into my gallery and you know vent their spleen on have a good [ __ ] and a moan about family and friends and life and

their boss and you know stuff like that anyway last night after I've spoken to you guys put the phone down just lying here you know washing a bits and bobs nice and calm as you do and I heard like her I don't know like ice it sounded like an animal but it was quite a rummage E and big much bigger than a cat and I'm in fact the first thing I thought was you know like a mouse or something cuz I've got mice at the palace unfortunately as all you know proper palaces have they all suffer with the mice you know it's living in the country this way with her you know all my land anyway I heard this sort of rummaging and noise and I don't know it was really strange and outside I was really really quite listening really intently and then I heard footsteps like heavy footsteps booted footsteps quite a lot of them and they were going up mother's my stairs when my staircase the fire escape and obviously I'll [ __ ]

myself and there were voices and they were talking and I was shouting from the bathroom who is that who the [ __ ] is that what are you doing in my palace etc etc as you do and no answer so I jumped out of the bath put a towel on my towel was so tiny was pathetic little blue towel and ran round into the club venue across the floor and they were on the mezzanine and I don't know if there was a daughter didn't actually said I'm just assuming it was two men and a dog that's what it sounded like but I don't really know and I was shouting up and I was going to chase there was like running up the stairs and they just went oh [ __ ] the somebody in here and turned round and leg dit down the fire escape and left I've ran after them and the fire

escape door was shut and I just bolted it and then I got dressed and then I obviously went to look outside but you know it was too late at that point because because they'd lived it and so but by this point I was a complete utter nervous wreck absolute nervous wreck I didn't know who to phone the door had been on unlocked from the inside which was really really worrying because I always unchecked the doors you know night after a giggle were just at night before I go to bed you know and my maintenance chap who checks it there's a lot of people here

checking a lot of things we always do a body check because I once found somebody in my lingerie department asleep under my lingerie and and there was a French guy and by the time I woke him up I mean it took me an hour to wake him up they're like six of us by this point because then obviously I got enlisted some help I wasn't about to wake him up that was in the middle of the night chest and you know it's a bit like the Queen when she woke up in that does that dude sitting on the end of their bed I mean it's really she must have been so scared

anyway I'm digressing here so am I was thinking I her do I call I didn't want to I didn't want to cause a drum this was two o'clock in the morning and I suddenly thought well who can I trust because if somebody's unlocked those doors on purpose you know is it the person i'm about to phone to get to come and help me or you know just anything like that so obviously i was just really really upset so I ended up ringing my mum who was absolutely wonderful she's 70 years old she sleeps with the...

hey world outside pasha de Valentine countess of Brighton Hackney finally at home in the bath at Providence palace it was a really busy weekend and I'm kind of spent most of it I want a kidnapped exactly but was difficult to escape the VIP by an arts club the new
VIP up there at goddamn media down in the dark dingy basement which actually isn't dark and dingy at all it's just that you don't really know what's going on outside you can't actually tell what time of day or night it is with the red lighting and the sort of sexy seating and paintings just to take you to a different level really like a different world so I kind of ended staying ended up staying there about two days which was quite amusing really for all concerned but yeah my private view went brilliantly and then we went off to st. James's Street which is the gayest campus Queen us figured out most fantastic

Street ever in the whole planet in the whole universe and I went up there with Joel who does my open mic and a bunch for the people my mate cast it was one of my models from my show she had a great time we went to karaoke at what's it called poison ivy just a ridiculously camp bar which is just beautiful just lovely love the guys who run that thank you so much for letting us misbehave in your bar on Friday then we went to legends Oh in between that we went to the Bulldog then we in 20 legends it was a bit of a catfight

on route which for legal reasons I won't go into details but yeah fantastic night absolutely fantastic and then we ended up back at the club at the private members club and as I say we were there till till Sunday I think perhaps I Larry's anyway since sunday what have we been doing which I did a recording with Joel well it was his program about lightworkers that's on a squeaker channel so you can have a listen to that light workers are from what I can gather people who feel that they can heal and have power and influence

through a spiritual energy that comes from a higher force I think what I've gleaned from the first light workers radio program anyway I was there as a complete novice with a couple of other people I'm just going to have some light drinking each other I've got a massive mug of drinking chocolate hang on a minute mmm it's frothy man and yes so there were I mean the I don't want to be rude or anything but you know one of the people there was was a bit bonkers so that kind of put me off a bit and sort of threw me off the whole the serious is the seriousness of spirituality

because I'm I have a lot of respect for faith of all different descriptions not religion but faith I I have to respect my own moral and backbone causes me to respect other people's faith and faith in you know their beliefs and I don't believe in gods or icons or higher beings myself but I respect that some people do and as long as they're not throwing it at me or influencing me or trying to influence you know young minds or you know convince people to behave in a certain way because of it I think that's fine they can they can get on with it anyway yeah when a bit off tangent several times the the radio show so that was a bit weird but overall it was a really interesting in this gives me a really interesting night so yeah really enjoyed that and then finally got home and had finally had monday off which was just super and sort of did nothing but then ended up doing five hours PR so I've got a meetup group now which is called god

damn media no it's not explored right notes club at goddamn media so if any of you out there in the big wide world in to meet ups or part of that setup it's actually an American company but they have groups all over the world and you can just you can join you can join my...
