You've heard a few of our past guests mention him recently and it's time we welcomed Climate Interactive Executive Director and Co-Founder Andrew Jones to the EcoRight Speaks! Jones created the popular interactive, online tool En-ROADS, allowing anyone to explore and see the long-term effects of global climate policies.
En-ROADS is a free simulator used by policymakers, educators, businesses, the media, and the public with the ability to test cross-sector climate solutions while factoring in hunters of variables like energy prices, temperature, air quality and sea-level rise.
Jones details where the idea for En-ROADS came from and how an interactive tool is more effective because "research shows that showing people research doesn't work," a premise coined by a fellow MIT Sloan colleague. This tool is used to help improve people's "mental models" in actionable ways versus laying out pages of data and research.
