After fighting all year, there are no more rounds for the New York Mets. The towel has been thrown. It's over.
The Mets fell to the San Diego Padres in the deciding Game 3 of their Wild Card Series. I could pretend this is some meticulous breakdown, but it's not. It's just raw emotion.

With their backs against the wall, the New York Mets turned to Jacob deGrom in Game 2 to help bring them even in their series with the San Diego Padres.
deGrom did just that, with the offense having a big night on the backs of Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, and Jeff McNeil.
Buck Showalter also made some interesting choices in how he decided to use Edwin Diaz in this game, so I break that down and look ahead to Game 3, and how Buck and the Mets might try to map out use of their pictures.

Max Scherzer was not good against San Diego in Game 1 of the Wild Card Series. Now, the Mets must turn to Jacob deGrom in Game 2 to save their season, as he goes up against lefty Blake Snell.
We talk (very little) about Scherzer's meltdown in Game 1, before constructing the best lineup for Game 2, and mapping out how to handle the pitching staff.
I was only intending to talk for like 10 minutes, and went over 25. I sat in the stench of this loss for a few hours before hitting the record button. I had a lot to get off my chest.

The New York Mets played their most important series of the year, and they had to come out feeling great.
5 games with the rival Atlanta Braves, and the Mets took 4 of them to increase their lead in the division. Followed up by a 3-game sweep of the Cincinnati Reds.
Host Michael Smith breaks it all down and takes a quick look ahead.

The New York Mets made no big splashes at the trade deadline, but the team did make some moves. Did they do enough to improve their World Series chances?
Plus, Jacob deGrom made his 2022 debut, and he left it with his health intact. How did the team fare in the game?

When the New York Mets' 2022 schedule first came out, many pointed to the fact that they would be making two west coast trips in a month. This was looked at as a big litmus test for a team that was very clearly "going for it."
Well, the Mets went 5-5 on that second trip, marking it a major success, especially considering some of the circumstances surrounding it.
The Mets are good, folks. Enjoy it.

Welp.
The three-game set in Philadelphia was an abject failure for the New York Mets. Swept right out of there without putting up much of a fight.
What now? What do they do now that they suddenly find themselves in third place?
There's a way out of this, and it starts this week against the Washington Nationals.
