Black Lives Matter. There’s no “if”, “and”, or “but” about it. This week we address the systemic racism that has gone on too long in this country and the world. Black citizens are constantly being beaten, tortured, harassed and murdered by people in positions of power all over the world, in the middle of the night and in broad daylight. If you feel uncomfortable with what we’re saying, don’t complain to us; instead, we encourage you to educate yourselves and others. Only then can you be an ally, and contribute to change that, quite frankly, is hundreds of years overdue. We'll be continuously sharing resources for you to get involved and learn how to support Black communities, artists, businesses, voices, and other organizations committed to creating permanent change during this movement. Use your privilege and your voice to stand up to injustice. Help push our government and local law enforcement to hold their officers to the same standards they expect from the rest of the people living in this country. “With great power, comes great responsibility.” they need to be responsible for their actions, and if they abuse that power, they should be held accountable, plain and simple. We need justice for our Black brothers and sisters now, and that cannot happen if we don’t take action and rip out systemic racism by its roots.
