Gallant Says

From Tuesday night's LIVE show at YouTube.com/PaulGallant & Twitch.TV/GallantSays:

0:39: The Ravens surprised much of the NFL word by giving Lamar Jackson the NON-EXCLUSIVE franchise tag, meaning he can negotiate a contract with any other NFL team. That team would have to trade Baltimore two first round picks AND give Jackson a massive contract...which the Ravens have a chance to match.

With all that said...shouldn't the Houston Texans at the very least THINK about it?

13:35: Per a CBS Sports report, the Texans might be into a QB that I was obsessed with them getting over half a decade ago...

17:40: I found out the TRUE details of Geno Smith's extension with the Seattle Seahawks...then read a bunch of salty comments mad about my skepticism over the league's comeback player of the year...

From Monday night's LIVE show on YouTube.com/PaulGallant & Twitch.TV/GallantSays:

1:45: The Seahawks gave Geno Smith a 3 year, $105 M extension with the ability to earn $52 M in the first calendar year. It's got me thinking 2 things.

1. The reported details of this contract don't really tell us if the Seahawks are committing to Smith past this coming season.

2. I don't think the Seahawks SHOULD commit to Smith past this coming season...unless they're drafting a QB with that 5th overall pick.

15:37: I HATE the NFL Combine and the discourse it creates, especially about quarterbacks that we'd been watching play actual football for a full fall!

26:23: PAWLitics time! The first lady took issue with a question asking if politicians over 75 should take mental competency tests. But considering there's age restrictions that prevent people from taking public office, maybe it isn't a bad idea.

From Tuesday's LIVE show on Twitch (Twitch.TV/GallantSays) & YouTube (YouTube.com/PaulGallant):

- (0:32): The Houston Texans should be looking at these guys in free agency a few weeks from now...

- (10:51): Are Jeremy Peña's arms too swole?

- (13:09): South Park officially has its fast ball back after last week's episode.

- (19:28): On a new episode of #TwitterIsTerribleTuesday, Paul takes a look at @ JoJoFromJerz

From Monday's LIVE show on Twitch (Twitch.TV/GallantSays) & YouTube (YouTube.com/PaulGallant):

- (0:29): The video and audio of Jonathan Gannon being introduced as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals has a lot of people thankful that the Houston Texans didn't hire him. Why?

- (14:29): The latest on Geno Smith extension talks with the Seattle Seahawks

- (16:41): The internet has been duped by a CLEARLY FAKE D.K. Metcalf video...which has me curious about "DeepFakes"

- (25:10): Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant were a bit tone deaf towards fans when talking about forcing trades this weekend. But they're not the reason that some are turning on the NBA...

From Thursday's LIVE (1:00 - 1:30 CT) show on Twitch (Twitch.TV/GallantSays) & YouTube (YouTube.com/PaulGallant):

- (:49): The Texans HAVE to make a phone call about potentially trading for THIS NFL QB given his uncertain future...

- (8:18): Obviously we'd like to see them draft a guy who's talented. But which QB that the Texans could draft has been through the most adversity in his life?

- (18:45): One of the NFL's best players is proof that THIS school produces the most fun people...

- (29:54): Today's #ThrowbackThursday is another example of the British Empire ruining everything...

- (32:35): The Last of Us is already my favorite CURRENT show on TV. Here's why...

From Wednesday's LIVE show on Twitch (Twitch.TV/GallantSays) & YouTube (YouTube.com/PaulGallant):

- (0:34): Does anyone buy into the idea that the Seattle freeze is dying when it comes to dating?

- (4:50): When you're listening to the radio or a podcast, how do you want a host to interview people you disagree with or strongly dislike?

- (12:46): Should the Houston Texans call now free agent Derek Carr about joining the team in 2023?

- (28:15): Aaron Rodgers lectured the world after the starting date of his "darkness retreat" was erroneously reported.

-(33:32): What's going on with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens?

From Tuesday's LIVE show on Twitch (Twitch.TV/GallantSays) & YouTube (YouTube.com/PaulGallant): It's Valentine's Day! Can you feel the love tonight?

- (3:52): The Cardinals hired one time Texans head coaching candidate Jonathan Gannon to be their next head coach, while the Colts introduced Shane Steichen as theirs. At Steichen's opening press conference, Indy owner Jim Irsay mentioned "finding a young QB" and said that "The Alabama guy doesn't look bad, I'll tell ya." Should Houston be concerned about the Colts trading for the number 1 overall pick and drafting Bryce Young?

- (16:37): Pop Star Sam Smith has been making headlines for his fashion lately, and it has me wondering if all "high fashion" is a massive troll job.

- (22:11): On another episode of #TwitterIsTerribleTuesday, I took a look at another online pander-handler. This one is a bit-coin huckster!

From Monday's LIVE show on Twitch (Twitch.TV/GallantSays) & YouTube (YouTube.com/PaulGallant):

- (1:31): I wasn't a fan of the holding call that helped decide Super Bowl 57, but it was far from the biggest factor in KC's second win

- (3:39): The Texans OFFICIALLY have a coaching staff...and Kliff Kingsbury isn't on it. Are they trying to copy San Francisco?

- (11:06): I talked about all the things I liked - and didn't like - during Super Bowl 57

- (21:22): What's the deal with all these UFOs?????

From Thursday's LIVE show on Twitch (Twitch.TV/GallantSays) & YouTube (YouTube.com/PaulGallant):

A caller at the end of my radio show suggested that I'm not fair to black athletes based on the way I've been talking about Kyrie Irving. I had thoughts...

From Friday's LIVE show on Twitch (Twitch.TV/GallantSays) & YouTube (YouTube.com/PaulGallant):

Per a Dan Graziano report, former Arizona Cardinals & Texas Tech Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury returned from his "one way trip to Thailand" for an interview to be the next Texans offensive coordinator.

As a head coach...he wasn't good. But as a coordinator? Not too shabby...

I also talked about Houston's new defensive coordinator Matt Burke, Geno Smith winning the NFL Comeback Player of the Year, and some East coast bias in the NFL Honors Awards Thursday night.
