  • Buccaneers RFC To Host Inaugural All-Ireland Mixed Ability Rugby Festival
    Mixed Ability Rugby teams from all over Ireland will be in Athlone on June the 10th for the first-ever All-Ireland Mixed Ability Rugby festival that will be hosted by Buccaneers RFC and Connacht Rugby.
    Mixed Ability and Inclusion Rugby is played all over the country with the Raptors in Corinthians a major success story since its formation.
    Mixed Ability Rugby follows all the traditional rules and the game, with only minor variations to support mass participation.
    Mixed Ability Rugby can be played with any number of players up to 15 a side.
    Alan Craughwell (IRFU Chair of Disability Rugby, IMART World Cup Director) and Joe Gorham (Head of Rugby Development, Connacht Rugby) joined John in Studio to talk about the upcoming festival.

  • Laya Corinthians RFC TAG is set to be the biggest in the Country once again.
    This Thursday evening, Corinthians RFC will once again be a hive of activity as TAG Rugby teams from all over the province will converge on Cloonacauneen for the opening night of the 2023 tournament.
    In previous years, The Corinthians TAG has become the largest of its kind in the country with over 1,000 players all involved every week and this year is no exception with the TAG selling out of entries within weeks of being launched.
    The Laya Tag Rugby Series is a brilliant way to socialise with friends or colleagues or meet new people all while getting some exercise in a fun and safe environment.
    Hundreds of players take part across multiple teams in various locations, with weekly games scheduled across Connacht.
    President of Corinthians Brian Murphy, Organiser Phil Brady and Player Carmel Egan joined John Mulligan in the studio to talk about the 2023 edition of The Corinthians TAG.

  • All Systems Go For Gort Community School Super 9’s Hurling Tomorrow
    Sixteen of the top hurling schools in the country will be in Gort tomorrow for the All-Ireland Super 9's tournament hosted by Gort Community School. 
    This tournament, in its second year, will see the top U15 hurlers all battling it out over a full day of competition and will be attended by the President of the GAA Larry McCarthy. 
    Run by the students as part of the TY Future Leaders Programme, It has in a short space in time become one of the major successes and this year also saw Camogie introduced for the first time.
    Two of the organisers, Aisling Dolphin and Seamus Hennelly, joined John in studio as part of Sunday Sport.

  • Defeat for Connacht in United Rugby Championship Semi-Final - The Commentary
    It was not to be for Connacht on Saturday as they were beaten 43-25 by the Stormers in the Semi-Final of the United Rugby Championship held at The cape Town Stadium.
