July 31, 2026E82 | Redemption in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Marvel Cosmic InvasionnThis week I talk about the idea of redemption in Red Dead Redemption 2 (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1174180/Red_Dead_Redemption_2/) and how it does not seem to be present in my time with the game. This week I also got to play the fantastic Marvel Cosmic Invasion (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2753970/MARVEL_Cosmic_Invasion/), and any Marvel or Beat 'Em Up fans really ought to give it a try! Last but not least, this week I'm recommending the show House of David (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30955673) on Amazon Prime, which follows the story of how David becomes king of Israel. As always, I'd love to chat about any of these things, so hit me up on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod) and let's have a conversation! July 24, 2026E81 | Struggles with Red Dead Redemption 2 and Echo IsleFirst up this week, I dive a little bit into some of my frustrations with Red Dead Redemption 2 (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1174180/Red_Dead_Redemption_2/). Fortunately this week I also got to play the very fun - and short! - Echo Isle (https://store.steampowered.com/app/4290470/Echo_Isle/). And last but not least, this week I'm recommending the movie Young Washington (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt32104007), which gives viewers a look into the early life of the US's first president. As always, I'd love to chat about any of the things I discussed in this episode, so hit me up on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod) and it's have a conversation!Theme music:Chiptune Loop 100 BPM by komit.wav -- https://freesound.org/s/399325/ -- License: Creative Commons 0...more19minPlay
July 17, 2026E80 | Honor in Red Dead Redemption 2 and RoguebookThis week I spent a little bit of time talking about the honor system found in RDR2 (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1174180/Red_Dead_Redemption_2/) and how it reminds me of GTA 4. The brand new game this week is called Roguebook (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1076200/Roguebook/), which is a combination rogue-like and deckbuilder. Never would have guessed how much I enjoy this game! Last but not least, this week I'm recommending the movie Masters of the Universe (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0427340), which is a fun action flick. As always, I'd love to chat about any of the things I talked about in today's podcast, so hit me up on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod) and let's have a conversation! July 10, 2026E79 | Complexity in Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Serpent & The SeedThis week I'm playing some more of RDR2 (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1174180/Red_Dead_Redemption_2/) and enjoying the complexity of the world and the characters that inhabit it. I also got to play the PC version of The Serpent & The Seed (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3838400/The_Serpent__The_Seed/), an excellent little game developed by my friend Andy Geers that explores various stories from the Bible. Last but not least, this week I'm recommending the Linux distro CachyOS (https://cachyos.org/) for a more gaming-focused version of Linux that has the option to give you a pretty Steam OS-like experience. As always, I'd love to chat about any of these things, so hit me up on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod) and let's have a conversation! July 03, 2026E78 | Red Dead Redemption II and Star FoxThis week we're kicking off the month of July with the big game for the month, Red Dead Redemption II (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1174180/Red_Dead_Redemption_2/). This is one of the best-selling games of all time, and I'm looking forward to spending some more time with it. So far, it's good! Also this week is Star Fox (https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/star-fox-switch-2/), the remake of the 1997 N64 classic. This one is also quite good, especially as a fan of the original game! Last but not least, this week I'm recommending the Flexispot (https://www.flexispot.com/) E7 standing desk, which I've been enjoying for a little while now. If you need a desk, check it out. As always, I'd love to have a conversation about any of the things I talked about in the episode, so hit me up on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod) and let's chat! June 26, 2026E77 | Progression in Mad Max and Legend of Zelda: Twilight PrincessFor this final week with Mad Max (https://store.steampowered.com/app/234140/Mad_Max/), I wanted to talk a little bit about progression in the game, as well as my overall thoughts on it. Also this week, I went back and played a good bit of one of my very favorite Zelda games, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Twilight_Princess). Last but not least, if you're looking for a cheap fix for minor dings in your windshield, I really like this Rain-X Windshield Repair Kit (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IPS4APU) that I found, so give it a shot! As always, I'd love to have a conversation about any of the things I talked about in this episode, so hit me up on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod) and let's chat! June 19, 2026E76 | Loss in Mad Max and Max PayneThis week I wanted to talk a little bit about the theme of loss within Mad Max (https://store.steampowered.com/app/234140/Mad_Max/) and how it is kind of woven throughout the game. Also this week, I revisited Max Payne (https://store.steampowered.com/app/12140/Max_Payne/), which is one of my favorite shooters of all time. Last but not least, this week I'm recommending the Tapo brand (https://www.tapo.com/us/) of smart home devices, which I've been using for a little while now. As always, I'd love to get your thoughts on any of the things I talked about in this week's podcast, so hit me up on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod) and let's have a conversation! June 12, 2026E75 | Madness in Mad Max and Star Wars: Jedi Knight IIThis week I touch briefly on the subject of madness in the world of Mad Max (https://store.steampowered.com/app/234140/Mad_Max/) and wonder if maybe Max is seen as mad, being the only sane person in a world of madness. I also talked a little bit about another one of my favorite games from years ago, Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (https://store.steampowered.com/app/6030/STAR_WARS_Jedi_Knight_II__Jedi_Outcast/) and how it's designed just a little different from the games of today. Last but not least, I'm recommending the movie Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30825738), which I enjoyed, even if I wish it had been a full season of the show. Got any thoughts to share about any of these things? Hit me up on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod) and let's chat about it! June 05, 2026E74 | Mad Max and Fable AnniversaryThe big focus for the month of June is Mad Max (https://store.steampowered.com/app/234140/Mad_Max/), which came out over 10 years ago now, but it's proving to be a pretty fun game so far! Also this week, I'm taking a look at one of my favorite games from years ago, Fable Anniversary (https://store.steampowered.com/app/288470/Fable_Anniversary/)! This is a fun, relatively simply action RPG that I highly recommend if you like medieval fantasy games. Also this week, I'm recommending the brand new Steam Controller (https://store.steampowered.com/sale/steamcontroller) from Valve, which is a little hard to get your hands on, but it's worth it! A little disclaimer for this week: I am working with some new audio equipment, and I think I've got it dialed in, but let me know if it needs some further tweaks. As always, I'd love to chat about any of these things, so hit me up on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod) and let's have a conversation. May 29, 2026E73 | Familiarity in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Ratchet & Clank: Rift ApartThis week as we wrap up our time with the game, I'm talking about the way that familiarity with Star Wars and the prequel, Fallen Order, helps to enhance but not consume Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1774580/STAR_WARS_Jedi_Survivor/). Also, I tried Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1895880/Ratchet__Clank_Rift_Apart/) for the first time and really enjoyed getting to go back to this series that I haven't played in a while. Last but not least, this week I'm recommending the software known as PrimeHack (https://metroid.fandom.com/wiki/PrimeHack) which lets players take their existing copies of the Metroid Prime games and take them to another level on modern hardware. As always, I'd love to chat about any of these things, so hit me up on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod) and let's have a conversation!
