This week we're kicking off the month of July with the big game for the month, Red Dead Redemption II (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1174180/Red_Dead_Redemption_2/). This is one of the best-selling games of all time, and I'm looking forward to spending some more time with it. So far, it's good! Also this week is Star Fox (https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/star-fox-switch-2/), the remake of the 1997 N64 classic. This one is also quite good, especially as a fan of the original game! This week I touch briefly on the subject of madness in the world of Mad Max (https://store.steampowered.com/app/234140/Mad_Max/) and wonder if maybe Max is seen as mad, being the only sane person in a world of madness. I also talked a little bit about another one of my favorite games from years ago, Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (https://store.steampowered.com/app/6030/STAR_WARS_Jedi_Knight_II__Jedi_Outcast/) and how it's designed just a little different from the games of today. Last but not least, I'm recommending the movie Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30825738), which I enjoyed, even if I wish it had been a full season of the show. The big focus for the month of June is Mad Max (https://store.steampowered.com/app/234140/Mad_Max/), which came out over 10 years ago now, but it's proving to be a pretty fun game so far! Also this week, I'm taking a look at one of my favorite games from years ago, Fable Anniversary (https://store.steampowered.com/app/288470/Fable_Anniversary/)! This is a fun, relatively simply action RPG that I highly recommend if you like medieval fantasy games. Also this week, I'm recommending the brand new Steam Controller (https://store.steampowered.com/sale/steamcontroller) from Valve, which is a little hard to get your hands on, but it's worth it! This week as we wrap up our time with the game, I'm talking about the way that familiarity with Star Wars and the prequel, Fallen Order, helps to enhance but not consume Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1774580/STAR_WARS_Jedi_Survivor/). Also, I tried Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1895880/Ratchet__Clank_Rift_Apart/) for the first time and really enjoyed getting to go back to this series that I haven't played in a while. Last but not least, this week I'm recommending the software known as PrimeHack (https://metroid.fandom.com/wiki/PrimeHack) which lets players take their existing copies of the Metroid Prime games and take them to another level on modern hardware. This week I'm talking about the ways that Jedi: Survivor (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1774580/STAR_WARS_Jedi_Survivor/) has players detour more extensively from the main path than Fallen Order did. I also tried out the 2023 Super Mario RPG Remake (https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/super-mario-rpg-switch/) for the Nintendo Switch, which ended up being more fun than I expected! Last but certainly not least, this week I'm recommending the fan decompilation project known as Dusklight (https://twilitrealm.dev/), which takes an existing copy of Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and gives it a modern coat of paint! This week I wanted to take a look at some of the ways that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1774580/STAR_WARS_Jedi_Survivor/) improves on its predecessor, with some very small and some larger changes made from Fallen Order. I also tried out MOTORSLICE (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2830030/MOTORSLICE/), which was recently released and combines some decent combat and parkour in a small game.
