  • E36 | XCOM: Enemy Unknown and XCOM 2

This week I played both XCOM: Enemy Unknown (https://store.steampowered.com/app/200510/XCOM_Enemy_Unknown/) and its sequel, XCOM 2 (https://store.steampowered.com/app/268500/XCOM_2/)! Both are really solid games and are worth playing today, even if they are a little older. I also recommend checking out Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12327578) if you're a sci-fi fan, as it's a lot of fun. As always I'd love to have a conversation about anything I talked about today, so hit me up over on X and let's chat! (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod)

  • E35 | Star Trek Away Team and Star Trek Resurgence

This week I've got two different Star Trek games! First up, Away Team from 2001 (https://www.gog.com/en/game/star_trek_away_team), followed by Resurgence from 2024 (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2653940/Star_Trek_Resurgence/). Very different games! Last but not least, I recommend the YouTube channel for Macho Nacho Productions (https://www.youtube.com/@MachoNachoProductions) for some retro hardware restoration and modification. I'd love to get your feedback on these, or give me your thoughts on the upcoming tactics games I'll be playing in September! Hit me up on X and we can have a conversation (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod)!

  • E34 | Batman: Arkham Knight and Gotham Knights

This week I'm wrapping up my time with the Arkham games. First up, Batman: Arkham Knight (https://store.steampowered.com/app/208650/Batman_Arkham_Knight/), which looks gorgeous even a decade later. I also played Gotham Knights (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1496790/Gotham_Knights/), which is a very different game, but still enjoyable. Last but not least, I recommend Green Man Gaming (https://www.greenmangaming.com/) for some solid deals on games on a variety of platforms! As always, I'd love to have a conversation with you about these or any other gaming topics over on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod)!

  • E33 | Batman: Arkham City and Battlefield 6 Open Beta

This week I continue playing through the Arkham games with Batman: Arkham City (https://store.steampowered.com/app/200260/Batman_Arkham_City__Game_of_the_Year_Edition/) which is a really fantastic follow-up to Arkham Asylum. I also was able to hop into the Battlefield 6 Open Beta (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2807960/Battlefield_6/) and get a preview of what that new game will look like when it releases in October. It's good! Last but not least, I recommend the 1954 Hitchcock classic Rear Window, which stars Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047396). I'd love to have a conversation about any of these things, so hit me up on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod)!

  • E32 | Batman: Arkham Asylum and Donkey Kong Bananza

This week I continue playing through the Arkham games with the first in the series - Batman: Arkham Asylum (https://store.steampowered.com/app/35140/Batman_Arkham_Asylum_Game_of_the_Year_Edition/)! This is a really great game from 15 years ago, but so is Donkey Kong Bananza (https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/donkey-kong-bananza-switch-2/) which came out in July. Finally, I recommend the new Fantastic Four: First Steps movie (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10676052), which is a great first outing for the FF in the MCU. I'd love to have a conversation about any one of these things, so hit me up over on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod) and let's talk!

  • E31 | Batman: Arkham Origins and Word Play

This week I kick off my playthrough of the Arkham series with Batman: Arkham Origins (https://store.steampowered.com/app/209000/Batman_Arkham_Origins/). Not the first in the series, but first narratively, so it's a good place to start. I also enjoyed the new game from Mark Brown, Word Play (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3586660/Word_Play/). Single player Scrabble against a clock! Last but not least, I recommend the website ProtonDB (https://www.protondb.com/) for anyone looking to play games on Linux. As always, I'd love to have a conversation about any of these things over on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod)!

  • E30 | Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and The Fallen King

This week I got a surprise and ended up playing two Prince of Persia games! First up is the solid The Lost Crown (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2751000/Prince_of_Persia_The_Lost_Crown/) followed up by the not-so-solid The Fallen King (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_of_Persia:_The_Fallen_King). I also recommend the 1978 Superman movie (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078346) as well, if only to compare it to the new movie. Lastly, for the rest of the month of August I will be playing the Batman Arkham games. If you have any thoughts on the Prince of Persia games I've been playing, or the upcoming Batman games I'll be playing, hit me up on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod) and we'll have a conversation!

I'd love to have a conversation about these things or anything else gaming-related over on X (https://x.com/Game_Club_Pod), so hit me up!

About Game Club

From the publisher's feed

Game Club is a quick weekly podcast about the games I'm playing and trying for the first time, the things I like about them and the things I don't. It's pretty simple!
