The Trump rhetoric depicting the US economy as smashing and in fantastic condition is, of course, untrue. Here is our start of the info stream, which mixes with the recent move by Bessent to use short-term bonds to buy long-term bonds in order to try to keep the long-term rates lower. That did not work, of course, and it sent a signal to economics-watchers that the crash is imminent. Here, we see one of the key data points driving the problem. US DEBT.

Obviously, the prices are up and rising because the US attacked Iran and because the US blocks Russian fuel and because the US for years has stifled oil and natural gas exploration, recovery, and refining in the states and the waters off the coasts of the coastal states. I forgot to mention it last night on LCL. “Trump’s Treasury secretary thinks it’s good that the economy is bad” LINK - Bessent: “The jobs that we’re seeing are going to Americans,” Bessent. “After the deportations that we’ve seen during the President Trump administration and the closing of the border, that’s like this unfettered migration, we don’t need to produce as many jobs.”

Bessent might want to consider a couple basic facts, beyond the lack of any federal “power” over immigration and in addition to the immorality of him and gangs of thugs telling folks they cannot freely associate with others to hire them. If that is a valid argument, then he can prevent YOU from buying what you want, because, in the end, the consumer is the final employer. SO… Let’s poke fun at that (I usually skipped the opening of news articles just for that reason, so I could get to the meat of the info) by looking at Israel’s number one rump-swab, Mike Huckabee. This is a story we — and likely you — saw the other day, but it is worth reiterating and using as a way to show us how unbalanced so many statists are. The problem is not necessarily that Huckabee keeps flacking for a genocide machine. That is obviously vile. But on a more subtle level, Huckabee’s assumed place to “represent” all of “Americans” on any front, that is a perennially unethical and misguided sign of hubristic statist thinking.

BREAKING: CONFIRMED, Trump tried to bribe the head of the IRGC

Trump continues the immoral, unconstitutional, and only-significant-because-it-will-boomerang rhetoric and purported policy of trying to “economically strangle” Iran. Iran is in charge of the Strait, and Iran and Oman are making arrangements for the mostly-Iranian-controlled strait traffic. Trump’s actions already saw a response from his victims that has shut down most of the world’s supply of oil, natural gas, helium, hydrogen, and numerous forms of fertilizer (and many other products). He is going to collapse the US, Canadian, and European economies. Australia likely will collapse as well, because the government attacked the coal industry there and they are heavily reliant on imported fuel now.

And if the US is going to try to strangle Iranian people off from goods they need, sans any Declaration of War, sans any defensive rationale that the Trumpistas can concoct, what will happen to the Iranian population? They have suffered and managed for decades, but how about Trump STOP the madness against them?

The Prez the other day canceled military exercises with the S. Korean troops, sent S. Korea a $10 bil bill for US “protection”, and claimed that he was good friends with the leader of N. Korea. Why? Well, the S. Koreans did not agree to send ships to the Strait of H to help the US, and the S. Koreans are in talks with Iran for energy deals. As expected, the Israelis are adding, not subtracting, troops in the land it already has stolen from Syrians. “Large Israeli Deployment Reported in Southwest Syria, Forces Push Into Rif Damasq - News From Antiwar.com” LINK

Yesterday, many folks remarked that Senator Darlene Graham, appointed by the SC Governor to fill her deceased brother’s vacant seat, admitted to not being informed about whether “Taiwan and the South China Sea” were national security issues for the US. It was refreshing to hear her admit that she was not up on the matters, but it also was disappointing to hear her broadly claim that she “supports our military” - as if the US military has been engaged in ANY constitutionally sanctioned action since WWII. While this, on its own, deserves closer analysis, and Ron Paul and Daniel McAdams offer just that, from the standpoint of correctly seeing the enormous and deadly US war-machine that has bases all over the world, I want to concentrate on the repeated use of the term “national security” and how easy it is for listeners to fall into the trap of thinking that such a term ever has any stable meaning (it will be manipulated by politicians to serve their ends), that they can ever really influence what the policies will be (Public Choice economics tells us the vested corporate interests will steer the manna of warmongering their way, at our expense) and that the collective can tell each of us what is our “security” measurement in our lives. Ron and Daniel begin by talking about the number of US bases that appear to be done in the Middle East, thanks to Iran’s push back against US aggression.

Judge Napolitano and Doug MacGregor dig into this, as well:

It looks like the Bessent attempt to manipulate the US Treasury market already is facing the reality that the US Debt is going to undermine the current rates of return… People know the Dollar will be worth less in ten years, so they demand higher rates. Bessent thought he could buy a bunch of long-term bonds and keep the rates low. Nope…

And, as we work on the News Notes, Bessent just announced a DOUBLING of what he did the other day. This is unsustainable. The Treasury announced it will at least double its liquidity support buybacks for 10- to 30-year bonds, raising the maximum from $2 billion to at least $4 billion per operation from September 9 through November 4. Yields dropped sharply by 9-10 basis points right after, gold surged over 3%, and Bitcoin futures rose amid the relief rally. Critics call it debt reshuffling that swaps cheaper long-term bonds for pricier short-term ones, as national debt tops $40 trillion with daily interest at $3.8 billion.

Douglas MacGregor is spot on about this Bessent fakery. The US debt is unsustainable, the interest on the debt will exceed the military budget each year, and the US spending on war (and the other massive tentacles of Leviathan) has to be cut (my preference would be no state, no US government demanding people send it cash).

And, yeah, it looks like Bessent will be the subject of some key analysis tonight on LCL…

And, as the US economy gets slammed

Interest on the $40 trillion debt is over $1.4 trillion a year… AND, here are the US deficits each month, for this year, from the U.S. Treasury’s Monthly Treasury Statement (through July 2026). Figures are in billions of dollars (unadjusted for calendar/timing shifts) and represent total on- and off-budget results:

• January 2026: Deficit of $94.6 billion

• February 2026: Deficit of $307.5 billion

• March 2026: Deficit of $164.1 billion

• April 2026: Surplus of $215.0 billion

• May 2026: Deficit of $292.6 billion

• June 2026: Deficit of $120.3 billion

• July 2026: Deficit of $432.3 billion

Trump definitely appears to be pushing this idea of strangling the Iranian economy - which he cannot do without strangling the world economy, esp that of the West. Eastern nations might be able to work with Russia and BRICS to avoid a lot of the downturn in supply.

More observers are discussing the unverified, but on-good-intel, news that Trump and aides have discussed using nukes on Iran. But is that a narrative cooked up by 1600 to frighten the Iranian govt?

Col Lawrence Wilkerson offers key thoughts about Trump’s continuing aggression towards Iran, the mess the US has made in overthrowing Assad, and the supine US Congress, as Netanyahu continues to slaughter in Lebanon, Gaza, the West Bank, and now, more in Syria. In this, you will notice that both gentlemen accept the Intel info that Trump was misled by Israel re the threat of an Iranian strike on his jet. I am skeptical about that. I suspect the entire “Israel misled Trump” narrative is fictitious to portray the US and Israel as being at odds. Check out their thoughts, though, and see what you think!

A Prologue

In one of the dumbest and most unethical moves of any Treasury Sec… Scott Bessent today announced the US Treasury would at least double the size of its liquidity-support buyback operations for 10- to 30-year bonds (to a minimum of $4 billion each), effective September 9 through November 4. This targets the long end of the curve after 30-year yields hit multi-decade highs. The announcement immediately lifted bond prices (and cut yields, with the 30-year falling as much as ~10 basis points) by signaling greater future Treasury demand for its own long-dated debt. This means that the US will have to BORROW MORE, which will inspire the Fed to print more money to buy the new bonds, or see the US Treasury repeat this cycle in a Ponzi Scheme with itself. It will make the bubble-burst much, much worse.

Kudlow is deceiving people here.

The 4% GDP figure is the annualized quarterly growth rate (SAAR—seasonally adjusted annual rate) relative to the prior quarter, not a year-over-year comparison.

Atlanta Fed’s GDPNow model produces a running estimate of real GDP growth for the current quarter on that same basis (the standard way BEA reports quarterly growth). As of August 18, 2026, it stood at 4.0%, after revising sharply lower from peaks above 6% earlier in the quarter. LINK

Longer-term and broader context undercuts the “strong Trumpian economy” framing. Widening the window to January 2025 (around the start of the current administration) shows more mixed or subdued performance than the selective recent snapshots suggest:

• GDP growth has been uneven and moderate overall. Actual BEA figures include Q4 2025 at roughly 0.5%, Q1 2026 at 2.1%, and Q2 2026 at 1.5%. Year-over-year real GDP growth has recently been around 2.1%. The GDPNow estimate for Q3 has been volatile and trending down as more data arrives; professional consensus forecasts (Blue Chip) have generally been lower (in the low-to-mid 2% range). LINK

• Manufacturing is not broadly “booming” when viewed over the full period. ISM Manufacturing PMI spent most of 2025 in contraction (below 50) before rebounding into expansion territory starting in January 2026 and reaching the mid-50s by mid-2026. Manufacturing employment remains lower than in January 2025—cumulative losses of roughly 60,000 jobs through mid-2026, even after some recent stabilization.Kudlow highlights a favorable short-term window and a nowcast that itself has been revising lower. Looking across the full period since early 2025 reveals periods of slowdown, manufacturing job losses, concentrated (rather than broad-based) investment strength, and import-price trends that are not uniformly declining.

In the flow of news today, I came across two key items that have inspired me to pick up what we had to drop last night - that being Textual Tuesday. The rise of the Social Dems, as we have noted, is not some new or sudden change in US politics, because the US political system has been made up, on the whole, of collectivist fascists and collectivist socialists - to the detriment of your innate individual liberty and God-given rights. And while MAGA-ites have nothing to stand on when they criticize other collectivists for being collectivists, it is valuable to note not only the immorality of political collectivism (which means, by definition, all forms of the polis), but also the detrimental consequences of welfarism in its various forms. We have been seeing the military-welfarist state actions slaughtering hundreds of thousands in the Middle East, seen how that is weaving into the ICE-IMMIGRATION POLICE STATE and SURVEILLANCE STATE, and seen how easily the special interests can influence the politicians. We also have noted that many anti-war politicians still favor “welfare” programs on a domestic level, sometimes thinking that such programs make up for “exploitation” by corporations or big businesses. But corporations, themselves, are products of statism, and even corporations usually have to compete with each other. It is the tie to govt that becomes problematic…
So, let’s look at two items, and we will focus on these tonight for about a half-hour on Liberty Conspiracy Live. The first is a valuable refutation - on Constitutional grounds and on ethical, and even practical, grounds — of government redistributing wealth to others so those others can receive “services” etc. (note: even police protection is a service, and no one has a right to force payment for it out of his neighbor). Here is Michael Boldin, of the Tenth Amendment Center, with an absolutely outstanding video on real charity, government redistribution of wealth, and the US Constitution. I intend to play major portions of this tonight, and show off Micheal’s new book, once more, as well as refer to the great book, “The Tragedy of American Compassion” by Marvin Olasky (you can get it used, at ThriftBooks - Here.) This is an example of the great scholarship you get from the Tenth A Center!

RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS

In a hard-won semi-triumph for liberty, a Northern District of Texas court issued a permanent injunction on August 5, 2026, blocking ATF enforcement of core National Firearms Act provisions. Effective August 13, it blocks registration, transfer, and making requirements for silencers, short-barreled rifles, and shotguns as to plaintiffs, their members, and customers—including those of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
This ruling rightly dismantles a regime that never should have existed. The original $200 tax was itself an unconstitutional impediment to the Second Amendment. Any tax, fee, or bureaucratic hurdle on acquiring arms breaches the plain text: the right to keep and bear arms “shall not be infringed.” Congress cannot price or paperwork the people’s liberties. When the tax was zeroed out, the remaining registration scheme collapsed under its own weight as exceeding enumerated powers. Yet the deeper truth remains: even a tax violates the Constitution.
True opponents of the NFA demand more. This injunction frees only the covered Americans to possess these tools without federal permission slips. The entire Act must fall so every citizen can exercise the right free of any governmental barrier.
SPECIFICS - WHOM DOES THIS INJUNCION HELP?
The injunction is not limited to the named plaintiffs alone, nor is it restricted to residents of the Northern District of Texas (or Texas generally). It has no geographic boundaries and applies nationwide to a defined set of “covered” parties—current and future—but it is not a universal injunction that protects every American.

Here are the specifics, drawn directly from the court’s final judgment in the consolidated cases Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF (No. 6:25-CV-056) and Jensen v. ATF (No. 6:26-CV-277), as summarized by the Second Amendment Foundation (which financially supported the Jensen case) and consistent reporting.
Who is covered:

• The named plaintiffs in Jensen: individuals John Jensen, Jeremy Neusch, and David Lynn Smith; commercial plaintiff Hot Shots Custom LLC; and organizational plaintiffs Texas State Rifle Association, FPC Action Foundation, and Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA).

• Current and future members of those organizational plaintiffs (and, in the consolidated Silencer Shop case, additional organizational plaintiffs such as Gun Owners of America, Gun Owners Foundation, Silencer Shop Foundation, and the Firearms Regulatory Accountability Coalition).

• Customers of the commercial plaintiffs (e.g., Hot Shots Custom and the commercial plaintiffs in the companion case such as B&T USA, Palmetto State Armory, and SilencerCo), but only for transactions with those commercial plaintiffs.

• Customers of commercial members of the organizational plaintiffs (again, only for those specific transactions).

• In the Silencer Shop portion of the consolidated litigation, the injunction also reaches the 15 plaintiff states (Texas, Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, West Virginia, and Wyoming) and their agencies/political subdivisions.

The court explicitly stated that the injunction applies to “both current and future” members and customers and that it is “without geographical boundaries.”

How an ordinary person becomes covered:
Join CCRKBA (a named organizational plaintiff) and the Second Amendment Foundation for $25. Because CCRKBA is a plaintiff, its current and future members fall under the injunction. Membership in SAF alone does not confer coverage, as SAF is not a named plaintiff in these cases (it is a plaintiff in a separate NFA challenge).

Important limitations

• It covers only the listed NFA provisions (registration, transfer, making, etc.) as applied to untaxed silencers, short-barreled rifles, and short-barreled shotguns. Machine guns and destructive devices remain fully regulated. (AOWs are excluded from the Jensen relief.)

• State laws are completely unaffected; if your state bans or independently regulates these items, those rules still apply.

• Federal background checks (Form 4473) for commercial transfers remain required.

• Customer protection is transaction-specific: it does not give a customer blanket immunity for all NFA items they later possess, transfer, or make outside of dealings with a covered commercial party.

Note that the ruling does not automatically protect every person who buys (or makes) a short-barreled rifle, silencer, or similar untaxed NFA item. It is a party-specific injunction, not a universal one that bars the federal government from enforcing the challenged NFA provisions against the general public.

The court permanently enjoined ATF/DOJ enforcement of the listed registration, transfer, making, and related provisions only against the named plaintiffs, their current and future members, the customers of the commercial plaintiffs, and the customers of commercial members of the organizational plaintiffs (and, in the consolidated Silencer Shop case, certain state governmental entities). Practical implications for an individual buyer

• If you are not a member of a covered organizational plaintiff (such as CCRKBA, Texas State Rifle Association, FPC Action Foundation, Gun Owners of America, etc.) and you do not buy from a commercial plaintiff or a commercial member of one of those groups, the enjoined NFA requirements can still be enforced against you in the ordinary way. Simply owning or purchasing the item does not place you under the injunction’s protection. LINK

• To obtain coverage as an individual, the organizations themselves (including the Second Amendment Foundation and CCRKBA) explicitly state that you must join CCRKBA (a named plaintiff whose current and future members are covered). SAF is promoting a joint $25 membership for this purpose. Membership in SAF alone is not enough, because SAF is not a named plaintiff in these cases.

• Buying from a covered commercial party (e.g., Hot Shots Custom or other commercial plaintiffs such as certain SilencerCo/Palmetto State Armory/B&T entities, or from an FFL that is itself a commercial member of a covered organization) extends protection to that specific transaction. However, the court made clear this does not give the buyer blanket immunity for every NFA item they later possess, transfer, or make outside those covered dealings.

In short, a person who wants the protection of this injunction for a new short-barreled rifle (or similar item) generally must take affirmative steps—most straightforwardly by joining a covered organization such as CCRKBA—or carefully structure the purchase through a covered commercial channel. The federal government remains free to enforce the challenged provisions against anyone outside those categories. State laws are also completely unaffected. Legal counsel familiar with the judgment is advisable before relying on it in any specific transaction. “Covered Americans” means anyone who is (or becomes) a member of one of the organizational plaintiffs, or who deals with a covered commercial plaintiff/member—anywhere in the United States. It is broader than just the named parties or Texas residents, but far narrower than a nationwide free-for-all. The government still has until October 5, 2026, to appeal.
