  • Your Sunday News Assembly, for 8-16-26
    Welcome, fellow Conspirators!

We race into the third week of August like, as The Damned might say in “The Limit Club” bullets from a gun. And Trump appears to be arranging more arms in Qatar and Israel at the same time he replaces the Abraham Lincoln with the George Washington. But how will the ship be resupplied? One of our Liberty Conspiracy viewers mentioned he had heard that Iran hit the bases the US used to resupply, which made sense, but I did some look-up and saw no record of it. Well, Mario Nawfal is discussing just that, and we will begin with that, in our War coverage, and dig into much more! As always, please feel free to read all, or just portions, of the Assembly, to leave and return, and to SHARE the internal links and the whole release! Be sure to head to Rumble or Gardner’s X at 6 PM eastern each M-F for the news, from Liberty Conspiracy LIVE! We hope to provide as much big info for freedom fighters as we can!! ALSO, check out the new Former Star Trek Writing Fellow Channels - On YT, and on Rumble! **AND feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the Assembly, and you also can donate to help the Liberty Conspiracy, itself! And now, as Mario and Luigi might say, “Let’s-a-GO!!

    Rations?

Speaking of Mario N, in this conversation with Anthony Aguilar, Anthony not only quotes the inimitable Yogi Berra’s “It’s de ja vu all over again” line to adroitly liken the US getting into a quagmire in Iran (as that quagmire strangles world fuel and the supplies of other key items) to the USSR in Afghanistan, Anthony also notes this, “You may own all the watches, but we own all of the time…” with respect to the Iranian position to stick with it and fuel starve the US/world that is trying to starve its people.

Sen Chris Murphy (D-CT) can be cited for wrongdoing on many fronts, from being involved in the US support for the overthrow of Yanukovych in Ukraine to the general problem of supporting statism, but he is correct here.

Furkan makes a valuable additional point, the US is so desperate to further this insane aggression against Iran, the Trump Admin is removing its aircraft carrier forces from the Pacific.

And how about traffic thu the Strait of H?

-Trump doesn’t care what it is costing you. He does Israel’s bidding, and the little theatre they are putting on, pretending that the Trump team and Bibi the Blood-bathed, is bogus. Notice here that he continues to vomit the false claim that Iran was pursuing a nuke weapon.

And Speaker Johnson, who said on DAY ONE when he took over that his first priorities were Israel and Ukraine, now wants to tell you that the Trump Admin policies were heading the US economy to the stars (they weren’t, thanks to the tariffs and continued military spending and the ICE expenditures, and welfarism, and SS, and Medicare/Medicaid, and “investing” in eleven corporations, and attacking VZ…) and Johnson wants you to think that the attacks on Iran just … happened. PRESIDENTIAL CORRUPTION

Multiple recent articles and official announcements confirm that the Trump administration’s Treasury Department / FinCEN has finalized a rule permanently ending beneficial ownership reporting requirements for U.S. companies and U.S. persons under the Corporate Transparency Act, and that it will delete previously collected data on those entities from its database. Former Rep. Tom Malinowski (who helped pass the underlying law) has publicly described this as helping international criminals, likening the data deletion to destroying an investigative tool (e.g., an FBI fingerprint database), and noted that the deletion could hinder law enforcement—including state investigations—and may be irreversible. The Bulwark (“Trump’s Gift to the Money Launderers,” Catherine Rampell, Aug. 14, 2026): Reports that Treasury announced it would destroy the government’s registry of shell-company ownership (an anti-corruption database required by law for law enforcement to “follow the money”). It will also destroy already-collected data so future administrations or local police cannot use it. Quotes Malinowski: “It’s like Trump ordering the deletion of the FBI’s entire fingerprint database.” The piece describes this as “salting the earth” so that traffickers, scammers, drug lords, money-launderers, and tax cheats can operate freely, giving law enforcement fewer leads.

The great “Interesting Books, Reviewed” covers an old release that digs into “white collar” crimes. It’s interesting to note that the state is the original crime, because it only an exist by taking your money and threatening you.

    BEYOND FISA

The Trump Admin is permitting/hiring PRIVATE companies to “infiltrate international cyber criminals.” There are some major problems with this new attempt to dance past the Fourth Amendment and towards another police state touchdown. First, not only does the Constitution require a judge-issued public warrant citing the person to be searched and the item sought before any branch of the govt searches someone, the govt doesn’t get around this by hiring proxies. It cannot hire them under a strict reading of the Constitution. Second, as you will see in the article linked, the government (and writer of the piece) depict their targets as guilty before even being charged with a crime… “‘Cyber privateers’: Trump issues order allowing US companies to hack overseas groups under certain conditions” LINK
The National Security Presidential Memorandum titled “Expanding Capabilities to Combat Transnational Cyber-Enabled Crime,” signed by President Trump on August 12, authorizes a program under the National Coordination Center (Homeland Security Task Force) in which vetted private US companies can conduct “Cyber Surveillance Operations” and “Cyber Effects Operations” (“disruption, degradation, etc.” - in other words, SABOTAGE) against these targets, but only under direct federal government control, oversight, written approval by co-Executive Directors from the Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security, and as “part of lawful investigatory, protective, or intelligence operations by federal law enforcement.” But, since these are conducted without warrants and the cyber attacks the feds okay are done without trial, this is just cyber piracy and gangsterism. LINK

The key definition (Section 4) is:

“Cyber-Enabled Transnational Criminal Organization (CE-TCO)” means any foreign group that conducts cyber-enabled crime against the United States Government, a United States person, or United States interests, and that is not an institutional part of a foreign government or wholly operated under a foreign government’s direction. For the purposes of this memorandum, a foreign group will be assumed not to be an institutional part of a foreign government or wholly operated under a foreign government’s direction unless clear intelligence exists establishing such connection.

News coverage of the memo (including the MSN/CNN-style pieces using the “cyber privateers” framing) consistently describes the targets as foreign criminal groups, cybercriminals, or TCOs “responsible for ransomware, phishing, financial fraud, sextortion, and similar activity that has cost Americans large sums (the White House cited more than $20.8 billion in reported losses to cyber-enabled crime in 2025).” These descriptions track the memo’s language of groups that “conduct” such crimes; they do not claim or require prior US court convictions, nor any actual court process. The government and their hirelings can just make the claim, any time.
Implementation details (to be fleshed out in procedures within 60 days, with some elements in a classified annex) include an “adjudicatory framework” to ensure operations target only CE-TCOs, standardized rubrics/templates for target identification, threat information sharing from private entities and government agencies, deconfliction across agencies, and strict rules against targeting US persons/systems (with minimization and notification if that occurs, plus judicial authorization where constitutionally or legally required for US persons). Operations must comply with the Constitution, US law (including the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act via government authority), and applicable international obligations. There is no public language requiring a criminal conviction or completed court process as a prerequisite.

    Nice, huh?…

    US ECONOMY

To add more follow-up to the follow-up. We noted two days ago the major data set missing from Stephen Moore’s claim that US “ability to afford” is up — that data set being the number of people who are either unemployed or are no longer looking for work. That has an effect on the calculation output, because it’s a data pool skewed towards only those who are working. Here is the stunning information on the labor participation rate.

And check out this one. The low expectations motif, with a touch of “rah-rah, ‘Merica!”

This is not going to help. Most of all, it is immoral. Oh, and it won’t turn any tide against Iran.

    • Brent crude: approximately $88.55 per barrel, up about 1.70% (roughly +$1.48) from the previous close of around $87.07.

Comparison to January 2025In January 2025, monthly average spot prices were:

    • WTI: $75.74 per barrel.

    • Brent: $79.27 per barrel.

Today’s prices are higher than the January 2025 averages:

    • WTI is up by roughly $6.50 (about 8–9% higher).

    • Brent is up by roughly $9.30 (about 11–12% higher).

    UKRAINE/US/NATO/EU v RUSSIA

The August 13 explosion at the KNDS Ammo Italy plant (formerly Simmel Difesa) in Colleferro, about 40 km southeast of Rome, has not been attributed to Russian forces. We wondered about that yesterday. LINK The blast involved a fire in the powder-processing/pressing area that led to a large blast, with no casualties reported. The plant (part of the Franco-German KNDS defense group) produces medium- and large-caliber ammunition and related products; it was operating with reduced staff during the summer holiday period. Italian authorities and investigators (including the Velletri Public Prosecutor’s Office) have stated there is no immediate suspicion of arson with subversive intent, sabotage, or external attack. The incident is being treated as an industrial accident or investigated under arson related to internal operations, with the precise cause still under review. Official sources and early reports explicitly ruled out sabotage. Some media and commentary have noted the plant’s role in European ammunition production (including 155 mm shells linked to Ukraine support) and referenced broader concerns about Russian sabotage campaigns elsewhere in Europe, but no evidence or official attribution connects this specific explosion to Russian forces or agents.
BUT, LAVROV is warning European deciders to stop assisting Ukrainian attacks on Russian civilians.

AND, Lavrov is aware that the US is involved with most of the strikes

    TARIFF TERRORISM

Yep. Despite Lutnick’s claims, despite Trump’s claims… Reality stands. “‘Tariffs have saved General Motors:’ Trump claims import taxes are helping GM — even as they will actually cost the company up to $3.5 billion” LINK
-More dark tidings, thanks to the court of “international trade”… “US court backs Trump’s power to close ‘de minimis’ tariff exemption | Reuters” LINK and LINK - Folks, this is stunning. The current removals (or indefinite suspensions) of the de minimis exemption for low-value imports (generally under $800) were carried out under discretionary presidential authority that Trump claimed and exercised primarily through the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), rather than under a statute from Congress that had already taken effect to end the exemption. LINK

    Key details:

    • Trump issued a series of executive orders (beginning in 2025, with later continuations) invoking IEEPA. Under 50 U.S.C. § 1702(a)(1)(B), the President may “nullify [or] void … any … privilege” with respect to property in which a foreign country or national has an interest during a declared national emergency. The court treated the longstanding de minimis exemption (codified at 19 U.S.C. § 1321) as such a “privilege.”

    • On August 13, 2026, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of International Trade upheld this action. The court held that IEEPA authorizes the rescission because it voids a privilege without constituting an exercise of the congressional power of the purse or the power to impose new tariffs. It distinguished the action from the broader IEEPA-based tariffs that the Supreme Court had earlier invalidated (those created new duties; this merely subjects low-value goods to duties that Congress had already authorized in the absence of the exemption).

    Congressional role?
Congress did act separately. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (enacted in 2025) repeals the commercial de minimis exemption effective July 1, 2027. The legislative history explicitly states that this future repeal does not limit the President’s existing authorities (including under IEEPA) to restrict the exemption before that date. (Which is, of course, unconstitutional). LINK

    IMMIGRATION POLICE STATE

The CTG-5 - as opposed to TVC 1-5 by Bowie - continues to see a massive pushback. The trouble is that more than 50 people have been killed by ICE or have died in ICE custody since Trump returned to the Oval Office. Unless people address the deeper unconstitutional and immoral existence of ICE itself, the capacity for expansion of ICE actions to become deadly will remain. The immoral predicate is enough to oppose ICE. “

This is significant for the states located within the zone of the First Circuit “DHS slammed for contorting law ‘beyond recognition’ to ‘hide elephants in mouseholes’“ LINK
-Then, there is, again, the lesson to derive from this one. The concept of a “visa” is not in their US Constitution, and, on a more fundamental level, where does one gang of people get off claiming they can tell others whether they can travel or not?- “Over 175k visas revoked by State Department under Trump” LINK

    UKRAINE/NATO/US v RUSSIA

This looks to be part of the Russian return-fire after NATO helped Ukraine engage in multiple attacks against civilians in Russia.

Key reporting, from Rick Sanchez and Stanislav Krapivnik

This is pertinent, on the statism front and the propaganda front, considering how the leaders of “the West” depict themselves as pro-freedom and battling the eeeeevil of Russia.

Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson appeared with Daniel Davis today, and offered key thoughts that might linger in the mind, re the US political demands for more US military spending, in the face of the unconstitutional military attacks that already have drawn away so many munitions. The fact is (as Larry’s Sonar 21 notes) the Chinese government is restricting the supply of essential minerals that are necessary for things like Patriot Missile navigation.

The Bessent Brigade is claiming that the US and Saudi suddenly and magically have created a series of pipelines that will deliver the oil that usually would be delivered from Saudi via ships. They are lying. Not only are they lying, they are lying to try to keep oil futures at a lower price. Amazingly transparent, to anyone with even the faintest concept of fluid dynamics through piping.

More, on the Trumpers trying to compose a symphony of economic lies.

If Saudi were pumping oil through these suddenly created pipelines, they would have no need to do this:

    Just a reminder:

AND, if people think the US stopped directly handing $ and weapons to Ukraine, I want to recall that, just this year, the US already has handed Ukraine $2.4 billion in January, and $775 million in February, PLUS, The House passed the Ukraine Support Act in June 2026 authorizing $8 billion in military finance loans and extending certain authorities, but it has not become law (pending Senate action and presidential approval amid administration opposition to further large-scale funding). Overall US-related spending since 2022 reached about $195 billion available as of March 2026 (much of it not pure bilateral transfers to Ukraine), with deliveries of prior funds still occurring. OH, and Congress authorized $400 million annually for FY2026 (and FY2027) in security assistance for Ukraine and appropriated $400 million for FY2026 European capacity building (including Ukraine). LINK AND, lest we forget, around 61% of total NATO military (defense) spending comes from the United States, based on the most recent available figures and 2026 estimates. And… this year the US has allocated $900 million appx for “NATO Funding”.

    US ECONOMY

Stephen Moore is a nice person, but he is not offering the full picture, here, because he never mentions the unemployed or long-term-out-of-workforce Americans. This is an important metric that one can see is omitted for a specific political goal.

Real wage statistics (such as BLS average weekly or hourly earnings) are calculated only for currently employed workers. People who are unemployed or have left the labor force entirely (not employed and not looking) are excluded from the averages by design. Factoring them in does not change the published “real wage” numbers for the employed, but it reveals important limitations and distortions in what those numbers actually measure.
    Composition (selection) effects:
When lower-wage workers disproportionately exit employment, the remaining pool of workers has a higher average skill/education/pay level. This mechanically raises the measured average real wage even if no individual worker received a raise. The reverse happens when lower-wage workers re-enter: averages can fall or grow more slowly purely because of the changing mix. This was especially large during and after COVID:

    • In early 2020, massive job losses in lower-paid sectors (leisure, hospitality, retail) caused a sharp spike in reported average hourly earnings. Much of that “growth” was compositional rather than genuine wage increases for those who kept their jobs.

    • As employment recovered under Biden and lower-wage workers returned, the composition effect reversed, contributing to the appearance of weaker or negative real average wage changes in some series.

    Approximate periods and averages

    • Biden final 18 months (roughly July 2023–December 2024 / into early 2025): Monthly unemployed levels generally ranged from the mid-to-high 5 millions early in the window up into the low-to-mid 7 millions later. The average was approximately 6.6 million. Annual averages were 6.08 million in 2023 and 6.76 million in 2024.

      bls.gov

    • Trump first ~18 months (January 2025–July 2026): Levels were generally in the 6.9–7.8 million range for most months (with a gap for October 2025 due to the government shutdown). The average was approximately 7.3 million. The 2025 annual average was 7.31 million, and monthly figures through mid-2026 remained elevated relative to the prior period before easing somewhat by July 2026 (to about 6.9 million).

    WARIRAN

Let’s begin with more misguided, immoral thinking, from Bill O’Reilly

Watch, as Wayne Allen Root simply nods and laps up the nonsense. Trump depleted the arms faster than Biden, obviously, and cannot restore the munitions for many, many months, if not years. Trump also is depleting the fuel reserves of the US, spiking up fuel and gas prices, and making anything that is shipped or depends on shipping become more expensive.

And, of course, Trump continues to spread the lie that for 47 (he’s upped that to 50 now) years, Iran has been a belligerent against the US, when it was the other way around, going back to 1953 when the US overturned the elected leadership of Iran.

Daniel Davis and Douglas MacGregor have some thoughts on that Trump idiocy.

And the Iranian FM is straight and honest:

    UKRAINE-RUSSIA

Numerous reports note that the Ukrainian government is virtually unable to stop Russian missiles and drones, so depleted are their own arms and so sophisticated are the Russian arms. As a result, the government is not reporting the Russian strikes to the media. Danny Haiphong and Lawrence Wilkerson offer more on this and what seems to be in store, esp re the Russian fuse ending when it comes to NATO-European involvement w Ukraine.

And, as the Russian troops move westward, Odessa looks more likely as an acquisition. Here is Rick Sanchez on the possible RETURN of the city to its traditional place as part of Russia.

    VENEZUELA

The WSJ Sunday reported that Trump’s big “kidnap Maduro and take the oil, but claim it’s not a criminal endeavor” isn’t going so well. Trump’s been bragging about how much money the US has made off of Venezuelan oil since kidnapping Nicolas Maduro and his wife last January. He even said Monday that ,“to the victor goes to spoils”. But Venezuela’s oil industry remains under a state of disrepair because of years of U.S. sanctions.

And a recent earthquake that caused some $37 billion in damage didn’t help, which makes the country even harder to function. But Venezuela has faced production problems because its equipment has been in a state of disrepair. It’s been cut off from U.S. refineries. This is largely the result of a U.S.-led sanctions campaign, as journalist Anya Parmpil, of the Grey Zone, documents in her book, “The Corporate Coup.”
Sooo, although Trump’s financial scheme of Venezuela is opaque (he talks about all this money that the U.S. is making, but we don’t know exactly where that money is going — he said it was something that affected $15 billion, but that’s hard to verify) the bottom line is that Venezuela needs investment and it needs relief from ALL U.S. sanctions. U.S. sanctions have been lifted that allow it to sell some oil. But in terms of having the equipment and the parts to be able to make significant repairs to the decrepit oil infrastructure, that hasn’t fully happened yet. And then you have the fact that Venezuela has the kind of energy reserves that are hard to extract and need a lot more investment. And that’s just difficult when the country continues to live under the boot of the US and its heavy US sanctions.
Anya told Judge Napolitano shortly after the earthquake that Venezuela didn’t even have the heavy construction equipment needed to try and save lives from people trapped under the rubble because of US sanctions, and we noted that on Liberty Conspiracy Live. It’s a terrible situation, caused by the US govt and lack of property rights for Venezuelans and for others who want to trade with them without US meddling. That’s what happens when you dedicate so many resources, so many years to strangling a country and make it so weak that it’s vulnerable to things like what Trump did, which is kidnap its president. It’s going to be in a rough shape to deal with a disaster like a hurricane or a quake that costs $37 billion in damage. And the U.S. has provided some token amounts of aid and even sent over Israeli advisors for a photo op. But what Venezuela really needs is a relief from the sanctions that have made life very, very difficult. There have been some temporary US “sanctions” waivers, so Venezuela has been “allowed” to sell more oil rather above-board, one might say, instead of a more limited amount on the black market to China, then to final recpients. It can sell it directly. That’s helped in some ways. But again, we don’t know where the money has gone because Trump brags about taking it. And there’s very little oversight of this. Congress is missing in action.
Think about it: Trump is openly claiming that he controls the profits from the sales of oil of a foreign country, but we don’t even know where that money is going and what’s being done with it. And he claims it’s going back to the people of Venezuela, but again, no details at all to back up his claim.

    Share Gardner Goldsmith

At the close of this News Notes, we will present an overview of US “sanctions” against Venezuela, Cuba, and any Americans who want to trade with people from those nations. We will explain when they were imposed (unconstitutionally) and how much they are estimated to have cost.

-Trump Signs E.O. Reducing Number of Jabs on CDC’s “Children’s Vaccine Schedule”. How about he and others open their eyes to the fact that the CDC is immorally funded through taxation and is not sanctioned by their US Constitution? Why, in a political system purportedly constrained by the US Constitution, is there a govt-decided “Children’s Vaccine Schedule”? LINK In the United States, children’s vaccine requirements for school attendance are set by each state government (and the District of Columbia), not by the federal government. State laws establish which vaccines are required for entry into public and private schools (and often daycare/childcare facilities), the number of doses, enforcement mechanisms, and available exemptions. All states currently require certain core vaccines (typically including MMR for measles/mumps/rubella, DTaP/Tdap for diphtheria/tetanus/pertussis, polio, and varicella/chickenpox), though details vary by state. Additional vaccines (such as hepatitis B, hepatitis A, meningococcal, or others) are required in some states but not others.

    • The federal government (primarily through the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices/ACIP) issues recommendations for the childhood immunization schedule and provides guidance, but these are not mandates. States decide whether and how to adopt them for school entry.

    • All states allow medical exemptions. Most also allow non-medical (religious and/or personal belief/philosophical) exemptions, though a small number of states permit only medical exemptions.

    • Trump during the “pandemic” that never can be called such, threatened to withhold federal education grants to states if they did not mandate masks and other “protocols”. He also did not emphasize the virtually ZERO risk to kids of things like the COWABUNGA 19 “outbreak”.

***SPECIAL REPORT - US SANCTIONS AGAINST VENEZUELA AND CUBA

    Venezuela
US sanctions against Venezuela began in limited/targeted form around 2005–2006 (related to narcotics trafficking, lack of cooperation on counterterrorism, and an arms embargo). Broader measures escalated significantly later:

    • 2014–2015: Congressional legislation (Venezuela Defense of Human Rights and Civil Society Act) and Obama’s Executive Order 13692 imposed targeted sanctions on individuals for human rights abuses, corruption, and antidemocratic actions.

    • 2017 onward (under Trump): Major financial sanctions restricted Venezuelan government and PDVSA access to US financial markets and debt.

    • 2019: Sanctions on PDVSA (state oil company), broader blocking of Venezuelan government assets, and restrictions that heavily impacted oil exports (historically a major revenue source, including to the US). Secondary sanctions and further designations followed.

As of mid-2026, various forms have been in place for roughly 20–21 years (targeted), with the more comprehensive economic/oil-focused measures lasting about 9 years (from 2017) or 7 years (from the 2019 oil restrictions). There have been periods of partial relief/waivers (e.g., under Biden for limited oil sales, and some post-2025/2026 adjustments), but core restrictions have largely persisted or been reimposed at times.

Estimated costs in blocked trade/economic impact:
There is no single official US government figure for “blocked trade.” Estimates vary widely by source, methodology, and attribution of causality (sanctions vs. oil price crashes, mismanagement, corruption, and policy failures). Key reported ranges include:

    • Oil-related revenue losses: Studies (including those using synthetic control methods) associate sanctions with declines equivalent to $13–21 billion per year in lost oil production/revenue relative to counterfactuals.

    • Other estimates: $17–31 billion in lost state revenue for 2017–2020 (WOLA); up to ~$226 billion in lost oil revenue for 2017–2024 in one report.

    • Broader effects: Sharp drops in oil exports to the US, loss of correspondent banking relationships (over 80% in some periods), higher transaction costs, frozen assets (more than $11 billion cited in some accounts, including funds at the Bank of England), and contribution to overall GDP contraction (IMF data show a ~74% GDP decline over a multi-year period, with much of it after 2015).

Critics of the sanctions (e.g., CEPR) emphasize large humanitarian and economic costs; other analyses argue the bulk of the pre-2017 collapse predated the heaviest measures and stemmed primarily from domestic factors.

    Cuba
The US has maintained a comprehensive economic embargo (often called the “blockade” by Cuban authorities) since February 1962 (President Kennedy’s Proclamation 3447, effective around February 7), making it the longest-running US trade embargo. Partial restrictions began earlier under Eisenhower in 1960 (e.g., cutting the sugar quota and limiting exports after nationalizations of US properties).
As of August, 2026, this has lasted over 64 years for the full embargo (or ~66 years including initial 1960 measures). It was strengthened by later laws (e.g., Cuban Democracy Act 1992, Helms-Burton Act 1996, which codified much of it into statute) and has seen tightening/loosening under different administrations, but the core framework remains.
Estimated costs in blocked trade/economic impact
Figures come primarily from the Cuban government’s annual reports submitted to the United Nations (these quantify direct and indirect damages, including lost export opportunities, higher freight/insurance/intermediary costs from trade diversion, financial restrictions, and related effects). Independent assessments often note that internal economic policies also contribute substantially to Cuba’s challenges.

    • Most recent reported period (March 2024–February 2025): $7.556 billion.

      cubaminrex.cu

    • Cumulative at current prices (over six-plus decades): approximately $170.7 billion.

    • Adjusted for the dollar’s value relative to gold: over $2.1 trillion.

      documents.un.org

    • Rough daily rate from recent Cuban figures: more than $20.7 million.

These numbers are presented by Cuba as the quantifiable impact of the embargo on trade, finances, production, and development. US sources and some independent analysts do not endorse the full cumulative totals or causality claims in the same way.
In both cases, sanctions (or the embargo) aim to pressure governments over democracy, human rights, or other policy goals, while critics argue they impose broad economic and humanitarian costs on populations. Figures for “blocked trade” are estimates rather than precise accounting of prevented transactions, and debate continues over the relative weight of external restrictions versus domestic factors.

    WARIRAN

Let’s begin with the land of Make Believe:

    More Make-Believe

    - Huckabee doesn’t speak peace. Of course. He portrays the US repeatedly breaking agreements as being the fault of Iran.

The US appears to be holding off more widespread use of deadly munitions across Iran - b/c the US is low on munitions. And the rhetoric from Bessent and Vance appears to be an attempt to shape the close-out imagery, much like a company that’s going bankrupt (pun intended) claims their bankruptcy sale is a “must clear space” discount period. Here’s the arms situation. The post starts to show us how the Trumpers are trying to shape the narrative…

    More, molding the narrative clay

And, since Iran issued its demands for peace, and those demands include reparations from the aggressor (the US)…Iran’s govt says they have specific demands.

… Trump petulantly (with words, only) fired back. What a SHOCK.

And IS Trump looking to declare victory and leave?

Trump is not removing the bulk of US air assets, however. He is continuing to concentrate them in Israel.

    In fact

Iranian For Spox Baghaei announced that Iran is submitting evidence of western war crimes to the Intl Crim Court

Iranian forces took out a huge portion of a US base in… Syria. Because, as we all know, US Bases definitely belong in Syria.

And Daniel Davis and his guest Bian McGlinchey offer key observations about Vance, and others pushing the “climb-down with a win, but maybe not climb-down” narrative. The Trumpers likely will keep doing this until October. Then, they will declare victory, go with a JCPOA-style agreement, and say they saved the US from Dems, just before the election.

    YEMEN-SAUDI

Ansarallah (Houthi) forces have primarily targeted Saudi-backed Yemeni government military camps, troop concentrations, weapons depots, and related positions in eastern, central, and western Yemen during a wave of missile and drone strikes over roughly the past 5 days (starting around August 6, 2026) LINK AND ANTIWAR on it “Yemen’s Ansar Allah Targets Saudi Oil Refinery, Saudi-Backed Forces in Yemeni Port of Mocha - News From Antiwar.com” LINK

    GREENLAND

Greenland Energy, a Texas oil company chaired by Larry Swets with Trump circle ties, landing drilling equipment on Greenland’s eastern coast without required approvals, leading to a “strong warning” from Greenland’s government over the unpermitted operation in Jameson Land. The company, partnered with a British license holder, aims to explore for potentially massive oil reserves estimated at up to $1 trillion in value and plans further equipment shipment in September 2026, despite Greenland’s 2021 moratorium on new oil licenses due to environmental concerns.
Greenland Energy has several documented connections to people in or near President Donald Trump’s political and business orbit, primarily through investors, board members, media partners, and associates, though the company and its leadership deny any link to annexation efforts. “Licensed to drill? How a Trump-linked Texas oil company is elbowing its way into Greenland | Greenland | The Guardian” LINK
There’s a bit of history here, and those ties to Trump. First, the ties to Trump, then, the history (which involves the dispute over drilling permits) LINK
    -Key TRUMP ties include:

    • Larry Swets Jr. (executive chairman and major shareholder): Media reports note that social media posts by his wife show she visited Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in 2026. Swets has been described as having access to Trump’s circle. He is also a business partner in another venture with billionaire Paolo Tiramani, a donor who contributed $10 million toward a White House ballroom project. The company retained Rubenstein Public Relations, whose principal has long-standing professional ties to the Trump family (including work with “pre-POTUS” Trump). Swets has stated that the oil project is “not related to American annexation.”

    • Kenneth Griffin (Citadel founder and Wall Street billionaire): He acquired roughly a 9% stake in Greenland Energy in April 2026. Griffin is a major Republican donor who contributed $1 million toward Trump’s second inauguration.

    • Carol Craig: Appointed to the company’s board of directors in June 2026. She is a U.S. Navy veteran and the founder/CEO of Sidus Space, a defense and space technology firm involved in work related to the Trump administration’s Golden Dome missile-defense initiative. Trump has publicly described control of Greenland as “vital” to Golden Dome (citing the existing U.S. base at Pituffik).

      theguardian.com

    • Phil McGraw (Dr. Phil): Greenland Energy partnered with his Envoy Media company for a planned documentary series (“Arctic Wildcatters”) about the Jameson Land exploration project. McGraw previously served on a Trump-appointed religious freedom/liberty commission, has publicly supported Trump, spoken at a 2024 rally, and appeared with him.

      theguardian.com

    • Additional context includes public comments by Jeff Landry (Louisiana governor and Trump’s special envoy for Greenland), who has discussed the territory’s oil potential and met with project figures, as well as reports of some shareholders discussing a potential “Trump pump” (stock boost from a presidential endorsement).

These links are based on reporting from outlets such as The Guardian, company announcements, and related coverage. There is no indication that Trump or administration officials directly own, control, or formally appoint people to the company itself. Greenland Energy was formed in 2025 via a merger involving Texas-based entities and holds (or is earning into) existing exploration licenses in Jameson Land that predate Greenland’s 2021 halt on new oil licenses. Company executives have emphasized the commercial nature of the project independent of geopolitical ambitions. Here is RT on it LINK

    US ECONOMY

Hassett and other Trump lackeys took time to deflect away from the unemployment stats,

… and, more than once, to blame Joe Biden for the terrible Trump economy and towering unemployment numbers. And, of course, he never bothered to address the fact that the Bureau of Labor Stats repeatedly lies about the employment numbers, then had to revise them down and revise unemployment numbers UP.

    And

Cong Rudy Yakym (R-IN) blamed Biden for economic woes 18 months into Trump’s second term. Yakym states President Trump “was certainly left with a mess to clean up,” while the segment displays current stats including 3.5% inflation, $4.04/gallon gas, and 1.5% GDP growth.

The interview also features RNC Chair Joe Gruters asserting Trump is fixing “Biden’s economy,” highlighting ongoing Republican messaging strategy on economic accountability.

    Then there’s the fascism… Shhhhh!

While I disagree with Steve Rattner’s claim that the Biden employment atmosphere was “strong” (unless one calls it “strong” because the atmosphere stank like manure), the economy has gotten much worse due to Trump’s tariffs, added spending, and expansion of military attacks.

Food prices rose faster than the average of all other goods and services throughout this January 2021–June 2026 window, which is why the food lines sit slightly above the overall CPI line.

Rand visited Ft Knox today… A stunt? It certainly won’t change the monetary system, which is key for inventing monetary units to fund war and domestic fascism, but it might be educational re central banking.

And… As we noted last week, stocks are HIGHLY over-priced.

AND… the Japanese Yen continues to collapse

    FLOCK CAMS

Glenn is doing a good job fighting!

-Florida Man’s “Flock Camera Folding Chair” Protest -A 77‑year‑old Florida man named Carl Gunn has become an internet sensation for staging low‑tech, non‑destructive protests against Flock Safety’s AI‑powered Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs). Cops hung around his protest for a half-hour shortly after his initial presence was noticed, but they couldn’t figure out a way to charge him. His method is simple but striking: he sits in a folding camping chair and holds a 12‑foot pool skimmer with a sign taped to its end reading “DOWN WITH FLOCK CAMERAS”, blocking the camera’s lens without touching the hardware DNyuz+1.

    How the Protest Works

    • No vandalism: Unlike other protesters who spray paint, drill, or use lasers, Gunn’s tactic is entirely legal and reversible ClickOrlando.

    • Blocking the view: The skimmer’s length and position ensure the camera’s lens is fully covered, preventing it from capturing license plates or other data MotorBiscuit.com.

    • Public engagement: His Saturday demonstrations have drawn onlookers, police, and even bystanders offering drinks, snacks, and shade
