Our conversation that began yesterday’s LCL discussing the Japanese Yen and the Trump Admin buying oodles of them via sales of Euros? It gets crazier… Check this out!

Meanwhile, the Pam Bondis of the US are screeching about how high the stock markets are.

They don’t discuss that the rise is due to central banking and corporatism that is artificially pushing prices up far above their earnings level. The Price-Earnings Ration at the NYSE is looking familiar to those of us who tried to warn people about the 2008 crash. In fact, the P/E ratio today is higher than in Dec, 2007.
Current trailing P/E: Approximately 25.2–25.7 (e.g., ~25.7 per GuruFocus as of early August 2026; ~25.2 per Barron’s data around late July 2026).

AND… December 2007: Roughly 18.4–22.4 depending on the exact calculation and earnings definition (reported/GAAP vs. operating). Examples include ~18.45–18.65 (trailing, various sources for year-end), ~22.2 (year-end reported), and ~22.35 (early December).

The “FREEDOM HAULERS” SCHEME

Trump TRIES to fill the gap created by his immigration crackdown on foreign truckers… As of May, Trump had pressured states and used federal action to revoke the trucking licenses of 25-28K long-haul truckers because they were not citizens (yet). Not a good thing, not a constitutional action… Now? Well, they need to do something about the LACK OF TRUCKERS, and remember that last year, I did the research and found that foreign truckers were 10x safer than native-born/citizen truckers. Check out the “govt breaks it then takes your money to put a band-aid on it” situation:
On July 30, President Trump and Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy hosted a White House event promoting this interagency campaign (involving DOT, VA, Department of War/DoD, and DOL). It aims to recruit veterans into trucking by streamlining CDL access and removing barriers, while pairing with the administration’s crackdown on unqualified foreign/non-English-proficient drivers.

Federal support for training and transitions includes:

GI Bill / VA funding: Covers up to 100% of CDL tuition at approved schools for eligible veterans (typically those with sufficient active-duty service). Veterans Readiness and Employment (VR&E) can fully fund training for those with service-connected disabilities and help with job placement.
SkillBridge (DoD): Allows transitioning service members to spend their final 180 days of active duty in civilian trucking training/apprenticeships.
DOL Apprenticeship Program: Provides a monthly educational housing stipend on top of a full paycheck while training.
Expanded Military Skills Test Waiver (from 12 to 24 months post-service) so qualified veterans with heavy-vehicle military experience can skip the CDL road test (already used by >40,000 people historically). Expansion of the Even Exchange Program (now in ~34 states) for easier military-to-CDL license swaps, sometimes waiving knowledge tests too.
”Private-sector commitments” (e.g., Werner Trucking pledging to hire 1,400 veterans/military spouses in 2027).

Now, on the heels of the Fauci Fall last week, RFK Jr is making rounds on TV and making headway for his agenda to “reform” the federal “vaccine schedule” and liability blocks against tortious litigation. He made mince-meat of Dana Bash over the weekend. Evidently, her vaccine against criticism failed. It’s important to note that RFK should be working to ELIMINATE the HHS, not fiddling with HHS policy, and his pro-Zionista stance is outrageous. But he makes valid points about the NIH hiding the truth, funding dangerous research, NIAID, and Fauci’s whole coterie of corrupt health coppers.

Dana Bash still has trouble grasping reality, not to mention the US Const or deeper ethics.

RFK Jr’s attempts to change HHS policies re vaccines and mRNA have angered Liz Warren (D-MA). He wants to overhaul the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program by expanding the vaccine injury table to cover conditions such as autism, alter processes to make claims easier, and remove certain vaccines from VICP coverage. This could flood the program with claims (potentially bankrupting its 1986-started trust fund that should not have been created by the feds in the first place), eliminate manufacturers’ limited liability shield, and shift cases into civil courts for larger awards—echoing the 1980s litigation wave that politicians leveraged to push the 1986 vaccine act in the first place.

One of the keys for RFK and his supporters is downgrading routine childhood vaccine recommendations (e.g., reducing the number of routinely recommended shots, shifting some like flu, hepatitis A, rotavirus, or meningitis to “shared clinical decision-making”). Critics of these moves, including Warren, say this can strip VICP protections and open manufacturers to more direct lawsuits while also reducing uptake, insurance coverage, and pharmacy access. And she seems to think this is a bad thing.

RFK Jr also wants to glue into the unconstitutional system broader actions affecting access and manufacturer incentives, such as narrowing COVID-19 vaccine recommendations (limiting them for healthy people under 65, which can hinder pharmacy availability and coverage), influencing CDC advisory panels, labeling, data release, or other FDA/HHS decisions that could make lawsuits more viable or manufacturing less profitable. Warren has tied these to RFK Jr.’s past financial ties to vaccine-injury litigation (referral fees and contingency interests), arguing the combination creates conflicts that incentivize policies harming vaccine supply. She seems to overlook the fact that he did that for decades, never got into politics while he was doing it, and was highly respected as a litigator. She also deflects from her own ugly work literally crafting the ill-named Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, seeing it get funded by the NY Fed, and then seeing corporations effected by the statute she helped create (when she was a lawyer) PAY HER to help navigate the statute.

The U.S. Treasury, acting through the wondrously unconstitutional, massively fascist New York Fed, Friday sold Euros from its foreign reserves to purchase Japanese yen in a rare, coordinated intervention with Japan. This supported the yen after it hit 40-year lows near ¥164 per dollar, aiming to avert a collapse that risked triggering Japanese sales of U.S. Treasuries and upward pressure on American bond yields. Japanese investors hold large volumes of U.S. debt; a plunging yen and related stress on Japanese government bonds could force repatriation or liquidations, raising U.S. borrowing costs. LINK

The U.S. avoided selling dollars. With chronic high deficits already straining Treasury markets, deploying more dollars risked further elevating U.S. yields or undermining a “strong-dollar” rhetoric. Using euros limited those domestic effects while still aiding the Japanese, thus continuing to protect the dangerously indebted US govt and its bogus fiat currency. LINK And

From a free-market perspective that wisely rejects central banking and fiat money, this royal episode illustrates the pathologies of government currencies. Fiat systems enable massive government spending and war and then require repeated interventions such as currency flips, central bank buying, and further debt-bond offerings to paper over the resulting imbalances. Exchange rates and interest rates should emerge from voluntary private transactions in PRIVATELY-ISSUED competing monies—gold, commodity standards, or private digital currencies—rather than from state-controlled, usually fake reserves and bureaucratic “to-do” lists.

Interventions such as this merely delay necessary market corrections, socialize losses, and entrench the very overspending and monetary monopolies that free-market money would discipline.

This, also, is not good.

SO, not only did Trump invest in Axon, the company slotted by many cities to replace their FLOCK cam systems, he also invested in GEO Group, the private prison corrup-oration that handles most of the ICE detention facilities and also formerly employed the current head of ICE, the “Border Czar” Tom Homan, and, indirectly, Pam Bondi. You might be interested to know that a New Yorker investigation by David Kirkpatrick estimates that the Trump family earned nearly $4 billion from presidency-linked deals in roughly one year of the second term, primarily through crypto ventures, Middle East real estate, and related investments. Kirkpatrick’s tally uses fairly conservative calculations from public filings and statements, updating an earlier $3.4 billion figure, and focuses on opportunities that likely required presidential connections. A PREFACE

The opening of August, 2026, brings us together to witness and possibly try to combat the growing tide of war that comes as a direct result of US aggression. Things got even weirder the other day, when “immigrants” from Morocco magically got sent into the Spanish cities of Ceuta and Melilla on the southern side of the Strait of Gibraltar, and on the tail of a dragon of rhetoric from the US and Israel about “Moroccan immigrants” finding homes there. Clearly, this was a message and middle finger sent to the govt of Spain for its speaking out (late) about the Israeli-US committed genocide in Gaza and Spain not assisting the US in its attacks on Iran. It also follows changes made in US policy that have seen “official” recognition of those cities as belonging to Morocco, which they do not. But that need not be the concern of a free person who, if he WERE free, would not have to pay for the US rhetoric, or spies, or anything “official” at all. Now, we see this, as of Saturday afternoon…

From Trump’s statement: “The United States has been clear: we recognize Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara, and we support Morocco’s serious, credible, and realistic autonomy proposal as the only basis for a just and lasting solution. Any other path prolongs the status quo and is unacceptable.”

On July 15, the House passed H.R. 8595 by 217-209, with nearly all Republicans supporting funding for foreign aid and diplomacy, including a committee report noting Ceuta and Melilla as located in Moroccan territory under longstanding claim. Massie, the sole GOP dissenter, highlighted the vote after late July's migrant rush of about 60,000 people led to chaos, clashes, and at least 67 deaths near the enclaves.

Soooo, let’s study the fundamentals here.
President Trump’s unconstitutional order for fresh US strikes this weekend targeted civilian energy infrastructure as well as so-called military sites, clear war crimes under law that devastate Iranian civilians. This illegal aggression prolongs months of suffering and pushes wider chaos in the world economy. Iran’s actions, hitting bases in other Middle East nations are defensive responses to US use of those states’ lands and the participation of those governments to harm Iran. Since approximately July 20, the Houthis have enforced a declared maritime blockade/embargo specifically against Saudi Arabia and Saudi-linked ships and ports in the Red Sea/Bab el-Mandeb. There is no clear evidence in recent reporting (that I’ve seen) of a blanket blockade specifically naming U.S.-flagged or U.S.-owned commercial vessels as of early August 2026, though U.S. interests are indirectly affected via the Saudi and broader regional conflict (and the Houthis operate as an Iran-aligned group in the wider war). Shipping through the strait remains depressed overall. By enforcing a (justified, based on the international “laws”) maritime blockade on enemy-linked shipping, the Houthis are protecting Yemeni sovereignty after years of siege and attacks by the US and US-proxy Saudi Arabia. On August 1 they denied any plan to charge transit fees, affirming free voluntary safe passage for neutral vessels while resisting imperial control of Bab el-Mandeb. LINK

In other words, the DoD commits the US to the spending before Congress agrees to the spending. The Japanese yen plunged to near 40-year lows around 164 against the dollar. Japan intervened by selling up to $59 billion of dollars to buy yen. The US Treasury responded by having the New York Fed sell euros for yen through major banks, its first such support in over a decade. Funding these moves requires Japan to sell US Treasury holdings from reserves, thereby cutting Japanese purchases of American bonds and lifting yields higher.

Japan’s yen interventions are prompting sales of US government bonds, spiking Treasury yields and exposing the insolvency of the debt-financed welfare-warfare state. Central bank fiat and central govt debt issuance create artificial demand for sovereign bonds that collapses under reality, burdening future generations. Abolish the Fed, end legal tender laws, and let free markets price money and credit honestly—government debt is not an asset but a claim on future taxation and inflation. Yes, this means that US bond rates will go up, the prices/value of already-issued bonds will have to drop, and US debt-interest expenditures will GO UP.

Trump’s unconstitutional IEEPA tariffs, voided by the Supreme Court, imposed severe costs on Apple, and, guess what? The new one-time refunds given back to Apple delivered 85% of its earnings beat. This exemplifies classic rent-seeking: big firms like Apple lobby for exemptions and favors, as Tim Cook did, then reclaim taxpayer funds. US Backing Israeli Attempt to Take Gibraltar from Spain via Morrocco

This is strange, goes back to 1786, when the US was operating under the Articles of Confederation (therefore, a sep govt from the one under the US Constitution)… The House Appropriations Committee’s fiscal year 2027 report notes that the Spanish-administered cities of Ceuta and Melilla are located in Moroccan territory and subject to Morocco’s longstanding claim. It supports U.S. diplomatic efforts to encourage talks between Morocco and Spain on their future status, amid broader aid to Morocco including $20 million in security financing. Spain insists the enclaves are integral parts of its territory with no dispute to negotiate, while recent migrant crossings into Ceuta have heightened border pressures and public scrutiny…

Yes, it’s odd that anti-migration Trumpers are PROMOTING this migration to Spain.

In late June (judgment published on July 8th), Spain’s Supreme Court ruled that the special “hot return” regime for Ceuta and Melilla applies only to migrants overcoming physical border barriers such as fences. The sea is not a containment element, nor are drones, cameras or sensors. Migrants intercepted while swimming therefore cannot be immediately pushed back to Morocco; they must undergo the ordinary return procedure, including identification and the chance to claim asylum. The decision (STS 814/2026) clarified existing law rather than creating new rights, yet it was widely cited as a factor exploited by smugglers in the subsequent mass crossings.

Fetterman’s thoughts on that are about as off-base as his stance on supporting the maniac genocide state of Israel. Fauci CHOSE to take the Fifth. No one forced him. - On the other hand, Fetterman DID admit to having acted in a blindly partisan way when Trump and the Dems faced off (thought Trump soon did everything the lockdowners wanted, plus pushing unconstitutional CARES Act pork, the unconstitutional and immoral jabs, and he shut down the international entries, which is not in his power unless there is a Declaration of War (we will softly mention that such a Declaration of War would grant politicians no more authority to command you than any other political edict can — they have no legitimate command power over you).

Trump very early today claimed he had gotten Hamas to lay down arms. That, of course, was false. Hamas today explained that they will only give up arms if Israel leaves Gaza and agrees to a ceasefire FIRST.

Hamas officials (notably Ghazi Hamad) have clarified/conditioned their position in response to Trump’s July 30 announcement of a “historic” Board of Peace agreement for the “complete disarmament” of Hamas and other groups in Gaza (with phased Israeli withdrawal afterward). They have stated they will not take disarmament steps first; any process (often framed as inventorying/storing heavy weapons under a Palestinian national committee, not full unconditional surrender to Israel or outsiders) is contingent on Israel first meeting obligations such as stopping attacks/operations, withdrawing forces from Gaza), allowing aid/reconstruction, etc. LINK

Here is one of the key moments from yesterday’s Fauci fall in the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC). This is going on, live, as we work. Fauci not only never answered any questions, instead invoking the Fifth Amendment’s protection against self-incrimination 111 times, he broke Senate rules by, for many minutes at the opening of the hearing, keeping his main bad-boy atty beside him for counsel, rather than on a bench behind him (with the other six attys he brought), since he only, alone, was supposed to be answering questions at the desk. The solo requirement did not preclude him from turning to get advice from his legal team, but, clearly, Fauci knew that turning to them each time he was asked a question would look terrible on screens, so he kept main legal-meister beside him to whisper in his ear. Rand Paul had the lawyer thrown out, to a round of applause from many of those in the audience. Fauci’s claim of 5th Amdnt protection could be problematic for him. Since he was pardoned via a very ambiguous Biden pardon, he would be indemnified before the committee, unnnnnlesss he perjured himself previously before Congress, and, clearly, he knows that if he says something NOW, he is not protected should he be found to be lying. By invoking the 5th, Fauci could be cited for obstructing a congressional investigation, which also carries federal penalties. Here is some of the footage that people got to watch today. Trump got what he wanted, kind of. The Fed didn’t raise rates. Of course, he wants them lowered so he can finance payment of 8 TRILLION IN US DEBT this year at a lower rate of borrowing to hand out the cash owed, but the US also has to issue new bonds at higher rates because not only is the US piling up 40 TRILLION in debt, the potential buyers know that the money returned when the bonds reach maturity will be less powerful, due to inflation of the money supply… SO, the US has to offer higher rates, otherwise there will be capital flight and a lack of investment in the new bonds/US debt. That will make the prices of current bonds go down, causing massive defaults in many sectors that are heavily leveraged in those bonds for liquidity. “Trump says tariffs have made the US ‘a fortune’“ LINK Let’s keep in mind some key facts from BOTH his administrations. I’ll gather reliable data on the economic costs of Trump’s tariffs from both periods.

First-term (2017–2021) costs
Trump’s tariffs on steel, aluminum, washing machines, solar panels, and roughly $350–380 billion of Chinese goods raised costs primarily for U.S. consumers and businesses through near-complete pass-through into import prices. Amiti, Redding, and Weinstein found that by late 2018 the tariffs imposed about $3.2 billion per month in added tax costs plus $1.4 billion in deadweight losses on U.S. importers and consumers—roughly $400–$800 annually per household once escalations were included. Fajgelbaum et al. estimated $51 billion in losses to buyers of imports (0.27% of GDP), with a net real-income loss of $7.2 billion after tariff revenue and domestic producer gains. Businesses faced higher intermediate-input prices, retaliatory tariffs that reduced exports, and net declines in manufacturing employment once input-cost and export effects were tallied. Broader estimates incorporating policy uncertainty put household costs in the $500–$1,700 range for 2020.

Costs since the start of 2025
Expanded tariffs in 2025 raised the average effective U.S. tariff rate to multi-decade highs (peaking near 13% before settling in the 6–9% range after court rulings and adjustments). New York Fed analysis found U.S. firms and consumers bore roughly 90% of the incidence. Tax Foundation estimates put the average household tax increase at about $1,000 in 2025 and roughly $900 in 2026. Yale Budget Lab calculations show a short-run consumer-price-level rise of 0.5–1.0% (depending on whether certain temporary tariffs expire), equivalent to $650–$1,340 in annual real-income losses for the average household, with larger percentage burdens on lower-income groups. Businesses absorbed substantial initial costs through thinner margins on imported intermediates before partial pass-through to final goods (autos, apparel, durables, food). Longer-run GDP reductions are estimated in the 0.1–0.4% range (or higher under broader proposals).
