  • Meet Molly Downs-Stoller!
Today‘s headline: ”Judgy Christian becomes Gay!” From Evangelical upbringing, to youth leader and a key member of the Baptist Homeless Shelter, Molly saw a girl and all she wanted to do was ”Kiss her!” ”I took all the voices away, except for God and me.” That is when trust came in and Molly knew that she had been hiding and unintentionally hurting gay people; like herself. In our inner homophobia, Molly suggests that we can be curious as to where it came from, how does it present itself, and what do we want to do about it. Molly believes that it is always here to protect us. Molly is now married to that special lady and her life is full of the fruits of a loving and peaceful home with the love of her life!

  • Meet Sara Cunningham!
Sara Cunningham went through a Faith Crisis when her son, Parker, came out to her when he was 21. Looking back, she realizes that she used diversion tactics to avoid giving him the opportunity to come out to her when in he was an adolescent. Sara fought her fears of her son going to hell with prayer, fasting, and burning sage. She was lost. She joined a mom‘s group on line with 250 women to get support and to ask questions that she couldn‘t ask in her church. She studied Science, Human Sexuality, and the scriptures to find the answers. Sara is now the founder of the non-profit organization Free Mom Hugs because she realized through her research that her son was not going to hell for being gay and states; ”Homosexuality is a gift from God to the world.” She believes that when Christians shame people that is the worst sin and that no one has the right to use someone‘s faith against them. Sara is a beacon of light for the LGBTQIA+ community. Sara stands in her authentic self; regretting that she missed out on her son‘s adolescence as she struggled to get through her own faith crisis in order to save her relationship with her son. Now, she is the life giving support to our community; one hug at a time.

  • Meet Ellyn McNamara!
Ellyn McNamara believes that God is the Divine Mother. To come to this understanding, first, her life had to go through twists and turns from wanting to be a nun at the age of 8, to being told she could not be a part of the church because of who she is. She experienced vile, homophobic rhetoric by boys as she held hands with her girlfriend and during puberty had to come to an understanding that she was, in fact, intersex. Ellyn took on her Spiritual Faith Journey through voracious reading of World Religions. She studied Wicca, Buddhism, chanting, meditation, and found herself in the Order of the Divine Reality(a cult) before coming back to her believe that her path with the Divine Mother God was hers to see for herself without the judgement or approval of anyone else.
