Geek Devotions

When this episode releases, Dallas and Celeste are at Louisiana Delta Comic Con in West Monroe, sharing hope, love, and geek culture with everyone they meet. But after nearly a decade of creating weekly devotions, podcasts, and events,, people still ask one question: "Why do you do this?"

In this week's episode of Geek Devotions, Dallas shares the full story behind Geek Devotions, how it all started at a convention called Geek'd Con in Shreveport, why they're passionate about reaching the unseen in geek culture, and what it really means to let your light shine for Jesus in places others often overlook.

In Tron: Ares, we hear Flynn tell Ares that the "Permanence Code" should really be called the "Impermanence Code." This idea struck a chord with us. We only get one life to live on this side of eternity, and James 4:13-15 reminds us just how brief it is. In this week's episode of Geek Devotions, Celeste digs into what Tron: Ares: can teach us about living without regret, sharing our faith boldly, and making the most of everyday we've been given.THANK YOU TO OUR PATRONSWe are so thankful to our Devoted Patreon Geeks who help make this ministry possible: Ruiz Family, Adam Arciniega, Lady Lommax, Paul Turner, Jacob Russell, Mike Alderman, Nerd Chapel, Monster Island Film Vault, PaulJPowers.com, Michael Manacci, The Cel Cast, Savie Wilson, John Harju, Kevin Lovelace, Branson Boykin, Leah Miller, Brianna Sheagley — and so many more.Thank you for your continued support!SUPPORT GEEK DEVOTIONSWant to help us keep doing what we do? What do you do when you mess up—big time? In the anime Gachiakuta, Rudo makes a mistake he instantly regrets, and instead of being condemned, he’s met with unexpected grace. Celeste from Geek Devotions takes this moment and connects it to Ephesians 2:8–10, reminding us that God’s grace covers our failures too.We don’t deserve it, but He still offers it freely. And as believers, we’re called to extend that same grace to others—not to be doormats, but to live more like Christ every day.If you’ve ever struggled with regret, shame, or wondering if God could still love you… this devotion is for you.📖 Scripture: Ephesians 2:8–10👾 Anime: Gachiakuta (aka “The Trash Anime”)✨ New here? Silksong didn’t start as a massive blockbuster, it began as a tiny flash game called Hungry Knight on Newgrounds. But that small beginning sparked a journey that changed the gaming world. In this episode of Geek Devotions, Dallas uses Silksong as an example to remind us that small beginnings matter.

📖 Scripture: Zechariah 4:10 – “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin.”

From convention floors at Geek’d Con to everyday encounters at work or even the drive-thru, the way we treat others reflects Christ to the world around us. Sometimes the smallest act of kindness can open someone’s heart to the love of God.This devo is all about how our faith shows up in everyday life—whether at a convention, at work, or even grabbing fast food. We went to Geek'd Con and asked the ultimate question: Who is the best/strongest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle? The answers were great, but the debate revealed something deeper. While each turtle is strong on his own, their true power comes when they work together. This got us thinking about the "lone wolf" mentality that so many of us fall into. In this devotion, we explore the lie of isolation and the powerful truth that we are not meant to do life alone.Check out the debate that sparked this conversation: https://youtu.be/wZKhPdijwhA THANK YOU TO OUR PATRONSWe’re incredibly grateful to our Devoted Patreon Geeks who help make this ministry possible:Ruiz Family, Adam Arciniega, Lady Lommax, Paul Turner, Jacob Russell, Mike Alderman, Nerd Chapel, Monster Island Film Vault, PaulJPowers.com, Michael Manacci, The Cel Cast, Savie Wilson, John Harju, Kevin Lovelace, Branson Boykin, Leah Miller, Brianna Sheagley — and so many more.Thank you for your continued support!SUPPORT GEEK DEVOTIONSWant to help us keep doing what we do?
