Hello again fellow Gen X Enthusiasts,
Johnny loves a good conservative talk radio show. His favorite morning radio show called "The Phil Cowan Radio Program" that used to run on KTKZ 1380 AM The Answer in Sacramento California ended on Friday April 1st 2022. Phil Cowan is no longer the host because he rode into the sunset of his retirement.
In this episode, Johnny tries to explain what the Phil Cowan show meant to him with regard to listener participation and engaging with the audience during the show.
Ed Crane is now the new host of "The Ed Crane Show" on this radio station during the slot of 6am to 9am. Mr. Crane comes from a long line of radio news reporting that includes a morning news program that included a cohost on a competitor station in Sacramento called KFBK NewsRadio 1530 AM. Before moving to Sacramento Mr. Crane worked for CBS News in New York City back in the 70's and 80's.
Mr. Crane is presenting his show in a peculiar way, where regular callers that used to engage with the former host are not calling in regularly, or as much as they used to. Johnny is coming to grips with what this new show is and how it is being presented and it is very difficult for him. Johnny is having a hard time appreciating this show in its current form. It has become increasingly difficult to appreciate The Ed Crane Show the way he appreciated The Phil Cowan Radio Program.
Thanks for listening.

Hello Fellow Gen X Enthusiasts,
Starchy and Johnny got together again to chat about stuff that went from watching Sanford and Son to eating nacho cheese Doritos and lightly salted Fritos. The duo also chatted about basketball documentaries that have been made in recent years. And how geography can be fun.
Johnny was introduced awhile ago to Jordan Peterson by Starchy and actually purchased and has been listening to the audiobook "12 Rules For Life". Listening to that book has been quite the eye opener for Johnny because Jordan Peterson himself reads the book.
Johnny and Starchy also started to chat about dieting and why unprocessed foods are better to eat than processed foods.

Hello again all 3 of our Gen X Talk podcast listeners.
Starchy Archie and Johnny Pendejo got together for the first time in 2022 to record a podcast episode centered around the rise and collapse of the San Fransicko Fortiners during the 2021 National Foosball League Playoffs. Starchy shared his disdain for a certain quarterback that is from a certain northern california town, who also went to a certain bay area hippie cauldron college, who plays for a very prominent upper Midwest tundra bay city by the lake. Subsequently the football gods did not shine favourably on the Cinncinnati Bengals during the most recent Stuper Bowl. The most epic game was when the the Fortiners beat the Snow Bay Packers during a series of snow flurries at the end of the game.
Johnny shared how difficult the year has been so far and hopes that going forward the new year will get better. Starchy is doing well and is learning more and more about concrete, politics, and adding fruit juice to whiskey. He is also adding to his ever largening Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and Margaret Thatcher hard cover library.
They also settled the debate over who could have been cast as The Fonz on TV’s Happy Days.
Thanks to all 3 of the people that regularly listen to our podcast.
We love you more than you know.

Hello again Gen X Enthusiasts,
In this episode Starchy and Johnny got together to discuss the most amazing and classic movie that celebrates the trials and tribulations of getting home for Thanksgiving.
Released in 1987, Planes Trains and Automobiles was directed by John Hughes and starred Steve Martin as Neal Page and John Candy as Del Griffith. The movie was a perfectly written comedy to be the ideal example of how bad a business trip can go, especially when attempting to get home in time to celebrate Thanksgiving.
This amazing movie means a lot to Johnny and in this episode he described what he did to make an audio stereo cassette soundtrack during his first year of junior college after being at KYDS 91.5 FM radio in Sacramento during his senior year of high screwl back in 1991. Johnny went as far as trying to make his own stereo cassette soundtrack after purchasing a used vinyl record of the original motion picture soundtrack of Planes Trains and Automobiles
Johnny also describes the attention that he paid to the progression of the movie and explains how over the years he has tried to remember to keep track of where and what Neal and Del are doing between Tuesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon of Thanksgiving week.
Thank you for listening to the Gen X Talk Podcast with Starchy Archie and Johnny Pendejo.
Special shout out to the Buzzsprouts chap from Brooklyn New York who said that he would listen to our podcast last week. We hope he enjoys this episode as well.

Hello again Gen X Enthusiasts,
It was a glorious cool day on a certain Sunday in the middle of November 2021. Starchy and Johnny had their grown up walk to a corporate coffee establishment house to enjoy a steaming hot cup of latte. A bonus was when Starchy enjoyed an amazing chicken and waffle sandwich. Later Johnny used the restroom for the 4th time that day.
Our hosts remembered what it was like to visit a certain dry goods / general merchandise retail store back in the 1980's called Payless. Payless was among a type of retail store that did not sell groceries. Payless sold dry goods, general merchandise, and had a pharmacy. Johnny's Dad worked as a pharmacist at the local neighborhood Payless in Sacramento California. Both Starchy and Johnny had retail store experience working as young lads. Johnny remembers working at Raley's Grocery Store as a courtesy clerk in Carmichael California and Starchy worked at Payless as a cashier clerk in San Jose California.
Our hosts also share certain lists of places of business that they don't like.

Hello Fellow Gen X Enthusiasts,
Want to hear what a Gen X person thinks of a movie made to attract millennials? Johnny Pendejo got to see Napoleon Dynamite again. In this episode Johnny shares opinions that he remembered from watching it and that he though the main character struggled to gain likability. This movie was released in 2004.
What is Napoleon Dynamite? Why do people like it? Is it supposed to be funny? Do watchers come away wanting their 95 minutes back? Johnny Pendejo helps to answer those questions in addition to what he liked about this movie starring John Heder, John Gries, Aaron Ruell, Efren Ramirez, and Johnny's personal favorite, Shondrella Avery.
And don't forget to listen for Johnny's "on a scale of 1 through 10 rating" for this movie.

Hello Fellow Gen X Enthusiasts,
Here is an episode where Starchy and Johnny were able to get together again to do a bit of contemplation on what exactly is going on in the world right now. The United States of America, as these two Gen X men know it, is in a state of flux where there is an air of disdain, uneasiness, and worry.
The hosts of this podcast sort of jumped around to a wide array of different subjects to try to come to terms with what is happening, in this very wearying and unrewarding world we all live in.
Happy Halloween 2021. It's time for The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!
Sigh.

Hello again fellow Gen X Talk enthusiasts,
It was fun to be in the company of a friend to talk about stuff relating to being a Gen X person. Starchy and Johnny had a walk in the morning when it was a blissfully cool on an autumnally October morning in 2021.
After a blissfully autumnally October morning walking to get latte'd up, Starchy and Johnny first began with eating hard boiled eggs with a certain hot sauce and a certain hot mustard. Later the hosts shared how pleasant it was to talk about stuff relating to how Starchy and Johnny knew of someone who was called "The Juice". Starchy then spent time offering insider scoop football fan information on what the NFL was in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Johnny then shared that he recently met a former NFL player at a local golf course putting green. Starchy then remembered what it was like to meet a NFL football legend. Johnny also shared that he went to junior high screwl with a former NFL player.
Thanks for listening to our humble little podcast.
