  • GXT Ep 14 Starchy and Johnny Remember Rush Limbaugh

    Send us a text

Hello again Fellow Gen X Enthusiasts,

I was able to dig out and edit my first ever conversation that I recorded for my new podcast called The Johnny Pendejo Show.  My first guest was my friend Starchy Archie.

We both loved Rush Limbaugh.  Rush Limbaugh passed away in February of 2021.  He was the greatest radio personality of all time.  We enjoyed listening to hours of Rush Limbaugh when he was on the air.  Rush revolutionized the AM radio dial as an means to be a source for an entertainment medium.

We both enjoyed making this episode and hope that you enjoy listening to this episode.

Thank you for listening to our humble little podcast.

  • GXT Ep 13 How To Be A Regional Professional Sports Fan

    Send us a text

    Hello Fellow Gen X Enthusiasts,

Johnny P is flying solo with this episode.  He discusses what the significance is to be a fan of regional professional sports.  He describes what it is like to be a fan of a certain Bay Area professional football franchise that can't seem to win in its new 20 billion dollar stadium, after being built in the middle of Silicon Valley.

He also describes also what it was like to be a fan of a certain Northern California professional basketball franchise when it came to town back in the mid 1980's.

Hope that the 2 people that regularly listen to this show are well and that their coming week is fruitful.

Thanks for listening to our humble little podcast.

    Send us a text

    Hello again,

In this episode Starchy and Johnny spent time remembering the day that will live forever in infamy in both of their lives.  They remembered what it was like on that Tuesday in September of 2001.  It was a day that both of them will always remember.

Johnny wanted to share where he was and how he learned of the news from New York City, Washington DC, and Shanksville Pennsylvania.  Starchy also wanted to share his memories of that day as well.

Both of our hosts discussed how life has changed since that day.

It was a difficult topic but it was insightful conversation.

Starchy and Johnny will Never Forget September 11 2001.

    Thank you for listening.

  • GXT Ep 11 Starchy Needs To Vent

    Send us a text

    Hello again Gen X Enthusiasts,

Well Starchy and Johnny had an eventful morning.  They got to go visit a local Christian church that had a guest speaker who has very much been in the statewide local news recently.  It was great to be able to attend church this morning and then help a certain special lady get air in her tires.

Once all of that stuff was finished Starchy and Johnny had a good conversation about things that they were thinking about.  One of which was the presentation of worship music in a Christian Church setting and what it is like to get coffee on a cool and brisk Saturday morning after a long and stressful work week.

Anyway thank you again for listening to our humble little podcast.

We hope that you enjoy this episode and that you listen to us again in the future.

Good Evening Fellow Gen X Enthusiasts,

Well its almost the end of July 2021 and today Starchy and Johnny got together for a walk and was pleasantly surprised by the gathering of a European Sunday Cars and Coffee event taking place at their normal Peets Coffee spot in Roseville California at The Fountains in Roseville.  They were able to chat with a few of the owners of fabled European cars both past and present.  Later they discussed the benefits, longings, fantasies, and spending money on fuel additives to enjoy these cool and amazing cars.

Our hosts discussed how many states that they have visited in their lives by either travelling by car and or aeroplane.  Starchy shared a deep and longing desire to travel by car or RV throughout North America to see many portions of this great and spectacular country.

The conversation then took many turns down a few twisty and windy roads.

  • GXT Ep 7 Late Night Impressions

    Send us a text

    Hello Fellow Gen X Enthusiasts,

It has been quite hot over the last few weeks in NorCal and finally Johnny Pendejo and Starchy Archie got together to have a morning walk to chat about what was on our minds pertaining to current events.  We recorded this episode on the 4th Of July 2021, so Happy Birthday America!!  Starchy shared how big of a deal the BiCentennial was back in 1976, and how it tried to raise peoples spirits in a dour and depressing decade of the 1970's.  Also, we spoke of a couple of little movies in the mid to late 70's that emerged to lift peoples spirits as well.

Johnny P shared that he had watched a couple of youtube videos of David Letterman being interviewed by Phil Donahue in 1988 and by Charlie Rose in 1996.  JP and SA had a discussion regarding how Late Night tv shaped our appreciation of entertainers that were older than us back in the 70's, 80's, and 90's.  We chatted about Johnny Carson, David Letterman, and Conan O'Brien and the influence that they brought to late night tv.  JP and SA also compared and contrasted the difference between what was late night tv then and annoyingly what late night tv is today.

Happy 4th of July to all and to all a safe night!!

Thanks for listening to Gen X Talk with Starchy Archie and Johnny Pendejo!!

  • GXT Ep 6 It's All Noise To Most

    Send us a text

    Welcome Gen X Enthusiasts,

Special thanks to the 8 people that downloaded our previous episode.

In this episode, Starchy Archie and Johnny Pendejo spoke about what music they listened to back during the 80's and 90's.  Why what they listened to influenced a generation of kids who decided to smoke a certain herb.
Johnny had an experience at the golf course this week where he enjoyed the smell of tobacco smoke, and why the smell of tobacco smoke isn't bad.  Johnny reveals also that he struggled in school and didn't smoke a certain herb to make him feel better.  He expressed opinions of people that he knew that smoked the certain herb and still did well in school.  Johnny struggled for everything in school despite not having certain academic gifts that other acquaintances he knew who had smoked the certain herb, did have.
Starchy expressed his appreciation for the men who served and died during the D-Day Invasion at Omaha Beach in Normandy France on June 6 1944 and shared opinions of the children of the WWII generation doing what they did best, spinning records, growing their hair out and disrespecting their elders.

We hope that you enjoy this episode and want to thank you for listening to our humble podcast about Gen X perspective topics.

    Hello Fellow Gen X Enthusiasts,

On Mother's Day 2021  Starchy and Johnny got together to discuss what was on their minds at this day and time after rescheduling their morning walk to Sunday.  They started by chatting about high fructose corn syrup versus sugar.  Then went into what Sesame Street made to educate children about sugar.  Then they discussed the PBS-ification of their TV watching experience as children watching Sesame Street, The Electric Company, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, and a whole host of other genre related programming that they enjoyed or didn't enjoy growing up.  Starchy opens up about seeing a famous EGOT in an airport once.  Johnny reveals key voices to a Electric Company animated sketch that Starchy didn't know about.  Starchy and Johnny rambled on in this episode about Russell Crowe and then got to the point of no return when Johnny was having gurgling issues.

Thanks to the 5 people who downloaded and hopefully listened to our last podcast episode.  We hope you enjoy this episode.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms who may listen!

Starchy and Johnny enjoy sipping seltzer water during their podcast.  Today Johnny drank a can of the Canada Dry Black Cherry Seltzer Water which is available at Grocery Outlet.  And Starchy drank a can of the Good & Gather Ginger Peach Seltzer Water which is available at Target.

Thank you for listening to Gen X Talk with Starchy Archie and Johnny Pendejo.
