We are going to look at
1.Exactly WHAT is required and what you are asked to do!
2.What to think about and prepare before you start writing and this includes…
Being aware of which STYLE of letter you need to write.
There are some keywords to look for in the prompt to guide you on this so if you are asked to write to a friend, a relative, a teammate, a flatmate, or a classmate, then you can assume you need to write an informal letter.
If you are asked to write to a company, a person you don’t know, a newspaper, a school or organization then the letter will be formal.
Occasionally, you may be asked to write a semi-formal letter. This is the case if you are writing to a colleague or a neighbour.
