Beautifully Narrated War Poem

If you could sum up The Stars in Their Courses in three words, what would they be?

Abstract War Poem.

Would you be willing to try another book from John Freeman? Why or why not?

I liked the overall language, but I prefer less abstract poems, more direct poems. Yes, I would be willing to read more of his poems (or listen to them).

Have you listened to any of Phillip J. Mathers other performances before? How does this one compare?

The narration was superb, better than the poem itself, I found. Mather has a uniquely deep voice and this adds to the atmosphere created by this poem and other war poems which Mather has narrated (also on audible).

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It is but 5 minutes long, so there was no difficulty listening to it in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

Not the best of the war poems Mr. Mather has read on audible, but still worth a listen.

A Life In Rhyme is Purely Brilliant!!!

I have read many random stories and poetry books in the past and Jean Shaw hits it right on the head when it comes to poetry in real life. She names each person and the events in their lives that they celebrate and overcome.

She tells the story of people in her life through poetry and does an amazing job. Covering birthdays and life events, the book flows very well and is a great read. I would recommend this book to any poetry & story telling fan. I will definitely check out her other "Life in Rhyme" books....Well done!

GREAT WRITING OF POETRY. I ENJOYED IT.

What A Gift!

A friend recommended i read Life in Rhyme-People Poems. I'm so glad I took her advise. People's Poems is a "feel good book". The author, Jean Shaw has a unique ability to take the ordinary and turn it into the extra-ordinary. She captures the essence of her friends and family and sums them up in a few words. They come alive and I'm touched by the humanness and warmth Jean brings to each poem. Some of the poems, especially the last two about The Widow and Tough old Bird, made me reflect on the passing of time and reminded me to take time to visit and care more for my elderly relatives and to give thanks for the circle of life, reflected through Jean's words.

Makes a great gift for anyone celebrating their 40th or 50th Birthday.
