Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In #59. Bill Barnes and I discuss the current state of affairs in the country as per usual. We cover many topics today that include the censorship of free speech, violence in the streets, and the death penalty. Bill is fired up over more of the pathetic leadership across the United States at the local, state, and federal levels. We also talk about the potential relocation options for the Oakland Athletics, the Freeway Series in So Cal, Bill's ultimate golf foursome, and looking back at how Bill's mom raised him in honor of Mother's Day.

Recapping a big boxing night down in Dallas. Canelo Alvarez defeats Billy Joe Saunders by TKO in front of over 73,000 fans, the largest indoor boxing event in US history. I also share my thoughts on the Freeway Series between the Dodgers and Angels. Other topics include how to get a low rating from an Uber driver, weak arguments between fans of opposing teams, people who enjoy being scared, and our weekly tribute Suds With Studs segment.

Mike Kearns has been the Assignor for the Foothill Citrus Basketball Officials Association for 20 years. He has not only officiated basketball, but also has experience in football and baseball. Mike umpired Division 1 NCAA Softball for quite some time as well. During his college years, he ran Track for the University of Kansas and also played football for Cal Poly Pomona. We will talk about the perception of officiating and the difficult tasks involved in the assigning process. Additionally, Mike will share a special story about my first playoff assignment as an official in any sport.

Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In #58. Happy Cinco De Mayo! Bill Barnes and I reflect on the Osama Bin Laden raid from 10 years ago and where we were when it happened. Other topics include California releasing 76000 inmates, the upcoming recall election, and the various opinions throughout our country regarding the Covid vaccines. We also discuss some plays and behaviour in Major League Baseball.

We start off the month of May with some NFL and college football. We cover some of the stories from last week's NFL Draft and recap the Quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs. There is also a rather somber Suds With Studs segment this week. Additionally, there are some plays from Major League Baseball to break down regarding rules and regulations.

Bill Ritter makes a return to the podcast after his first appearance back in April of 2020. He is a talented musician and audio engineer who lives in Portland, OR. Bill talks with great passion about Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin. Other topics include the two party system, getting along with those who have opposing views, Kobe vs Lebron, and reflecting on the good old days playing ball together back in high school.

Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In #57. Bill Barnes and I discuss the new age of baseball and why it's bad for the game. We also talk about the recent news of California Governor Gavin Newsom officially being recalled. Bill tells a few inappropriate jokes and offers advice on how to not get traffic tickets from Police. We will also chat about UFC President Dana White, new CDC "guidelines," Hollywood elites, and the lack of accountability from Lebron James.

Reaction to an exciting night at UFC 261 which had a capacity crowd in Florida! I also have strong opinions on holding Lebron James accountable for his destructive comments. Other topics include the radically changing of American ideals and trying to please everyone. Additionally, we honor former Glendora Police Officer Louis Pompei in our latest edition of Suds With Studs.

Douglas Kirk is a musician from Bakersfield, CA. He has been a member of the band The Angry Brians for quite some time as a bass player and back up vocalist. Doug has played a few different instruments over the years and traveled to various places to perform. He tells stories from his musical career and shares some great memories from the melodic journey.

Bill Barnes and I discuss the results of the Chauvin trial and a few recent police involved shootings. We also chat about vaccine shaming, leaving baseball alone, and why Bill doesn't drink during the day. We apologize for the microphone issues. It will be improved next week.
