Bill Barnes is back in the United States for the Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In. He rants about Cop haters and crooked politicians. Bill also shared some stories about his son and tells us why he doesn't miss umpiring college baseball at all. I have to say that Bill definitely brought his A game today so be ready for some laughs. This is not for the faint of heart.

March is upon us! I start a new month off with a variety of sports topics. I also give my thoughts on Cancel Culture, The Regressive Movement, and Safety Paranoia. Additionally, I give my defense of sports officials when they eject players. I'm very much looking forward to March Madness, more big fights in Boxing, and your top 10 lists of sports memories.

Bob Lamb is one of my biggest mentors in officiating. He was also one of the original coaches of the West Covina Dukes, a youth travel baseball team that developed players to get to higher levels. Bob was my first football instructor and I was fortunate to work my first Final with him. We talked a lot of football, baseball, and making a difference. He will also chat about his son Mike's 10 year career in Major League Baseball.

Bill Barnes joins us again from his vacation in Mexico. We discuss what it's like not being on the baseball field this time of year for the first time in a while. Bill takes a few questions from listeners and I ask why is it that some people fear Covid more than others.

My brother Sam Heersema joins me to discuss a few fights from the weekend and some spring football news. Our conversation includes Sam's starting 5 of influential Leaders from Kare Youth League, coworkers who don't pull their weight, and the passing of a radio icon. For our 200th episode, we are joined by John Lee Sr. He has been a life long Leader in Kare Youth League and was a math teacher of mine that I owe a great deal of gratitude to. Mr Lee is the face of the infamous Atlantic Pirates of KYL and raised 3 very competitive sons that are now remarkable men themselves. I can still think back to my 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade days as a member of the Gators and the legendary competitions against his teams. Mr Lee give us the details from his life's journey and shares some amazing stories along the way.

Guillermo Barnes joins us from outside the United States for the first international Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In. He is on vacation but is contractually obligated to make an appearance on our podcast. Bill and I talk about Man Card Violations, International Travel, and the One Way Street of the Irrational. We also end the episode with a rather spirited debate over whether the National Anthem should be played at sporting events.

We start off the week with some talk about UFC 258, Valentine's Day, national anthem controversies, and my liberation from a bad habit. I'm solo once again today so I bounce around on topics. Mike Murphy is a retired elementary school teacher and has been coaching in Kare Youth League for over 40 years. We talk a lot about Rio Hondo Prep football today and what makes it so great. We also discuss the similarities between the 1977 and 2001 CIF Championship Games that occurred at Kare Field. Both games were Overtime thrillers and resulted in the first and last 8 man titles for RHP. I had the privilege to play for Mike Murphy when I was in 6th grade and am incredibly grateful for the many lessons I learned from him.
