Cute Read

While A Breath of Fresh Air is considered a novella, it's very short, a mere 40 pages. For this reason I understand how quickly the author had to get her main characters together after a brief meeting at the grocery store.

Ms. Powell tries her best to squish as much as possible into these pages, but I felt it was rushed. It could've been expanded with more feeling and storyline.

All in all it's a cute quick read.

True love has no time frame

It isn't easy falling in love. It isn't easy staying in love. This was shown. I'm happy that Corey and Air were able to work it out. Support from friends and family was everything.

It just keeps getting weirder

Part 1 was hot, part 2 was ok, part 3 it got ridiculous and it's been going down hill from there, the writer is trying to do too much without truly developing the plot. It's skipping all over the place and of course the dreaded cliffhangers.read at your own risk because it's a pretty ridiculous storyline

Confusion

We started with Martin, who gave detailed habit of dealing in Ted's life and affairs. We're brought the Kady and Brett, who are in love with each other. This story has a lot of past experiences, only to be brought back to Kady's and Brett's parents Sarah and Ted. Keep your eyes open and try to keep up.

This was such a sweet heartbreaking listen of one soldier coming home to help take over the family ranch who fallen for the nerdy girl every since it was a dare to kiss her in school. Through his tough days and nights overseas seeing the worst part of war his thoughts were on her and that kiss. He thinks just maybe once he gets back into the swing of things he just might try that kiss again and see if it is as good as he remembers.

A veterinarian who has spent so many years dreaming about the boy who kissed her turning into a man fighting for his country coming home and all that he must have endured. She wonders how he has changed. Just how turned upside down his world is and what she can do to help him. It is tough having a crush on a man that never knew you were around but for one night when their lips touch which changed her life forever.

When Santana comes home his sister sets him up with a dog that needs to go see the vet for a checkup. Once he gets there he realizes his sister has set him up, deciding not to let any grass grow under his feet he would tease the little vet. One cant be quite sure if he is teasing or being straight up. This is where things get interesting while Santana baits Emma sparks fly as the whole office hears what they say leaving you chuckling. Santana is one hot hunk of a soldier who has bad dreams and thinks he isnt good enough for Emma with all that he has seen he has come back broken. This doesnt stop him for baiting her every chance he can get. Santana are what dreams are made of every women in the world would like to have one like him.

Emma has heard that Santana has come home oh the dreams she has had but knows she isnt even in his league. There is no way a man like him would want someone like her. She has had a tough morning and the first person she sees is Santana and his new dog. Lord Have Mercy doesnt he look good, she has got this she can handle or Lord please help her. An all star cast!

Scarlett Finn delivers again in this third and final book in the Risqué series.

In this book we follow Ruger, the youngest of the Warner Brothers. With his carefree and lovable attitude, Ruger has charmed his way through life and into women's hearts. But this time he may have met his match.

Due to prior events and circumstances (explained in other books) Ruger ends up "babysitting" Layla Jensen as a favor to her brother. Little does he know that this woman will have the wit and sass to go toe to toe with him.

As the danger around Layla increases we see some of our favorite characters from other books making an appearance. What I love about this book is how Ms. Finn brings back all of the couples, not only from this series but from the Explicit series as well. It was wonderful to watch these characters interact with each other and I feel like this book tied everything up nicely and gave the reader the happy ever after that they're looking for.

Great read

I have read all 3 books in this series and enjoyed them greatly ! Nice to see how Scarlett Finn weaves all her characters into her stories !!

Love this book. Such a good book. I love all the books and hope to see the characters again. I finished it so fast, I could not put it down, although that was the case for all the books

Exciting action and romance!

Game of risk is another in the saga of the Warmer brothers and their women. There is a lot of suspense and action in this book. Ruger and Layla are thrown together when he volunteers to protect the sister of a former cop he feels he owes a debt. The sparks fly as the two engage in lively verbal banter. Ms. Finn's characters have depth and her plot is exciting. Not recommended for under 18 due to sex and violence. Well written and worthy of 5 stars.

A debt repaid

3rd book in the series, Ruger uses humor to get thru difficult situations. Layla is all sass with a fear of commitment. When her brother asks for help keeping her safe what could go wrong? Love how Scarlett weaves a story that encompasses all her characters from previous books! A great series.

Good writing poorly narrated

The story is taboo, and it takes twists and turns through the psyche of a disturbed woman and her misguided romance. It is very well written! The narration, however, has the pace, cadence, and tone of an anchor reading the evening news. It sounds forced and artificial. The book in print would be better because the reader will imagine the characters with different voices rather than hearing how Monica Reed used the same voice register and speech patterns for all characters and the narrator alike.

Disappointed.

Taboo, yet so entertaining

This book wasnt as salacious as the title led me to believe. I think the age difference didnt bother me as much as I thought. I finished this audiobook in one day. It was like watching an episode of reality tv---a train wreck that you cant avert your eyes from. I found myself shaking my head in disbelief, but I was also enjoying it so much. I can see how this is a touchy subject for some people but I liked the romance.

Joanne has been a military wife for most of her marriage and her husband Chads increasing distance (emotionally and physically) has left her feeling restless and bored. When her 16-year-old daughter needed tutoring, Joanne hired 17-year-old Alex to get her daughter up to speed. What began as harmless flirting quickly turned into more. But there is a lot at stake, Joannes marriage to Chad, her daughters crush on Alex, the effects on all of her children, Alexs family, financial stability and possible legal implications.

I have to say normally I would frown upon this behavior but this situation was truly complicated. The characters were all flawed and complex, yet at the root of it all was a need for attention, love and admiration. Joanne went so long not coping with her issues that she was in badly need of affection. For an overwhelmed wife and mother, nothing could be worse than a husbands indifference. The situation was ripe for a cleanup man. Alex wasnt a typical 17-year-old, he was more mature because of his family situation and he seemed to truly care about Joanne. It wasnt an ideal situation but it was one that anyone married to an inattentive partner could understand.

I enjoyed their tryst but I was surprised that Joanne expected more mature behavior from Alex when she clearly didnt exhibit mature behavior a lot. I found her behavior as selfish as her daughter but not as bad as Chads apathy. I was anticipating the major conflict, but not the ending of the story. I am not quite sure I enjoyed the ending, but there was some realness to the rage, hurt, and conclusion.

The writing was very entertaining.

Okay read if what you're expecting

Guess I wasn't expecting so many mini stories but some were okay others much better. I wanted more focus on the original story, seemed rushed without a lot of character development. Would recommend maybe having less free reads and add more details to the storyline of primary purchase. Also seemed there is another similar book with similar stories, but since they were free additions by the author that is to be expected but again I would rather have that storyline as well be more developed than the many mini stories.

loved it

I loved this book along with the others in the series. And it has you on edge a few times on how the characters feel about each other. But, it is a great book and I could not put it down. I did receive an advanced copy for an honest review and I loved it and can not wait for more to come from this series.

Bearly Sheltered

Emma is a cop fighting against her department after catching dirty cops cover up a murder. Her partner is the only one on her side. He knows they are after them. They get a call out. He knows it's a set up and tells Emma where to go for protection if things go bad. Watching her partner get shot she runs to the shifters for protection. Having a previous bad experience with a shifter she doesn't trust them, but since she is a cop they don't trust her either. Jace is assigned to protect her. This is a great story. Fast paced and full of twists. Great job yet again! I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Quick read

This is a short story of a dirty police department trying to destroy a whistle blower who reported the dirt. She needs to be protected by shifters and neither side trusts or likes the other.

While I liked Emma and her partner Sgt. Franklin, I did not feel as though they had time to develop as characters. Most of the focus of the story was on the dirty cops and Emma (the whistle blower.) The story moved very fast. I felt as though I was dropped in the middle of it and had to quickly figure out what was happening. For everything that was happening in the story, it needs to be a lot longer so the plot can be developed so that it is plausible. The romance between Emma and jace was not believable. There was an attraction but the story is too short to make me care about them.

I was enjoying the book until....

It took a turn for the ridiculous. The series was great so far until writer over reached and came up with the ridiculous futuristic nonsense. The plot didn't quite develop very well and the story just got dumber.

Oh well we can't win them all.

Disappointingly Poor Performance & Editing

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

The narration was robotic and staggered, lacking the natural cadences in conversation. Add poor editing and occasional (unintentional) poor grammar and I was seriously disappointed. If a book is intriguing enough, I can overlook some of that but this is not the case. The romance was never built, it just was. The angst was a mere couple day break-up. The characters had no dimension or depth. All in all, a big disappointment.

I just wish this WAS LONGER! I wanted more then just 3 hours!! I recommend paying cash don't use a credit! WITH THAT BEING SAID YES THE BOOK IS GOOD & THE NARRATOR RONALD DID A GOOD JOB!!

A Slow Paced Story..

Rose, the female lead, loves two things, Dancing and her boyfriend, Blake.

The reader learns about the different struggles that Rose has to face on a daily basis.

One day Rose has an "accident" and everything changes, from that point on

Overall, the book was an interesting read. I like how the author writes in different genres.

Ronald Ray Strickland did ok..with the narration as a Ballerina.

I was given this book in return for honest unbiased opinion. I truly thought the story was great. A little teary but great intimate parts all throughout the book. I think the narration could have been better but wasn't horrible. Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend it!!

Last Dance

This book is primarily about Rose, the female character, so I think it might have been best narrated by a female. A few inconsistencies in which voice used for which character.

The story is about Rose, her dancing career, dancing with broken bones, battles with eating disorders, battle against a perverted dance instructor when she was younger. It's kind of all over the place - a little jumpy, there are some inconsistencies that were bothersome. Wasn't really my cuppa.
