    Great book for new leaders
What did you love best about Leadership Secrets of Attila the Hun?
I was given this book by a colleague and friend in human resources when I became a leader in an organization that was under performing and in chaos. This was a good primer for me in learning to focus the team to a cause and do so relentlessly. The length of the audiobook made the content easy to consume.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Atilla's defeat in Rome and how he behaved after the failure.
    Excellent reading with historical inaccuracies
It is a very interesting book trying to explore Attila and his abilities to lead which of course were dismissed and partly abandoned by western historians.
Although a great read with very helpful ideas found in many leadership books the problem I found was the oversimified perspective given on Attila's leadership qualities. The story serves the leadership purposes but its historical basis is weak since it does not take into consideration the fact that at the time, the collapse of the Roman Empire was eminent. Most of the places pillaged by Attila's hordes were not even defended by armies, and therefore was easy to conquer. His talent seems to lie on his ability to convince the tribes to follow him rather than he strategic and leadership qualities described in depth in this book.
    just ok
Would you try another book from Wess Roberts and/or James Lurie?
it was just ok, but not great. the last chapter gives you everything you need. The rest was just a long story.
What "secrets" ??? Any leadership book has more!
It's a very interesting book on Attila but as far as leadership goes there is nothing you will not find in other more thorough leadership books.
This one you have to listen and then ask yourself how you would apply what he says in today's world.

    This book helped me.
I learned that leadership begins with the way I look at myself and view others. It is important to start there, then consider the view.
    Iterative
Not sure if it's the chicken or the egg, but this is basically a reformatting of Brian Tracy, Jack Kornfield, Tony Robbins and a gamut of other personal development books.
    Lack of real life examples
I like audible for this book. I wish that it would provide life examples than theory. It would help easy to comprehend the context.
    Very insightful
This is a very useful tool in energizing current leaders and assisting in growth of new leaders! I would definitely recommend.

    Great Book
For me it was worth a second listen! You will enjoy learning from these wise decision makers. These men credit parts of their sucess in part by living within the guidelines, and drawing strength from the LDS faith. A good read for anyone since the studied men were fairly open about their challenges and the process they went through when making difficult decisions.
    Mormon Business Owner/Manager Must Read
Great book filled with inspirational stories of success, challenges, and how to do business the right way!
    Great Understanding
Very interesting listen and understanding of these mens lives. Interesting how men at such lofty corporate positions can still be grounded by their faith.
An excellent bit of insight into the lives of some very extraordinary men.
Though about a decade old, this book still provided some great insight into some interesting and successful Mormons. The book doesn't shy away from there and perfection but also highlights the ways that they are able to utilize the teachings of their church to excel both as a family man and as high-level executives. It is a quick read/listen and it was definitely motivating for me.
Good inspiration. Lots of gold nuggets.
How to balance your life and live by principles.
want to replay it to better remember how to apply principles in real life senarios.

    Title: The Heart of Change
Subtitle: Real-Life Stories of How People Change Their Organizations
Author: John P. Kotter, Dan S. Cohen
    Narrator: Oliver Wyman
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 5 hrs and 33 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 02-07-08
    Publisher: Macmillan Audio
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 127 votes
    Genres: Business, Leadership
    Publisher's Summary:
Now, Kotter and co-author Dan S. Cohen delve deeper into the subject of change to get to the heart of how change actually happens. Through compelling, real-life stories from people in the trenches, in all kinds of organizations, the authors attack the fundamental problem that underlies every major transformation: How do you go beyond simply getting your message across to truly changing people's behavior?
Based on interviews within over 100 organizations in the midst of large-scale change, The Heart of Change delivers the simple yet provocative answer to this question, forever altering the way organizations and individuals approach change. While most companies believe change happens by making people think differently, Kotter and Cohen say the key lies in making them feel differently. They introduce a new dynamic - "see-feel-change" - that fuels action by showing people potent reasons for change that spark their emotions.
Organized around the revolutionary eight-step change process introduced in Leading Change, this story-driven book shows how the best change leaders use not just reports or analysis, but gloves, video cameras, airplanes, office design, and other concrete elements to impel people toward positive action. The authors reveal how this appeal to the heart - over the mind - motivates people to overcome even daunting obstacles to change and produce breathtaking results.
For individuals in every walk of life and companies in every stage of change, this compact, no-nonsense book captures the heart - and the how - of successful change.
    Critic Reviews:
"Kotter and Cohen demonstrate the critical difference that focus, faith, leadership, commitment and creativity make in winning employees' hearts, offering good stories that truly apply to each topic." (Publishers Weekly)
    Members Reviews:
    Shame about the narration
I was really looking forward to hearing Kotter's latest offering and was not disappointed. The first hand case studies were illuminating and inspiring, it's a shame therefore that different voices were not employed in telling them. I found the use of only one narrator spoilt the impact of the content, I found myself nodding off now and then and/or having to rewind to ensure the point being made stayed with me.
Great piece of work but unfortunate narration
This is a great piece of work with breakthrough ideas. However, unabridged narration does not encourages listening.
    Sections Missing
    Any additional comments?
The audible book seems to be missing sections, there are quite a few instances where the sentence is cut off and a brand new one with a different topic starts. I am not sure what happened in the editing process.
    great
really enjoyed the thorough insight and looking forward to learn more about the authors works
    interesting book
As a manager, it shows and remind me another perspective of the organization. I enjoyed it as it is accompanied by the book. worth reading it

    Just a big ad
This book is nothing more than an ad for the consulting services of the authors. Long on what not to do, short on what to do. Very boring narrator as well.
    Great, Relevant Content
I've been a believer in customer centric selling for some time but had never read the book. It reinforced my beliefs and gives and excellent context for successful selling. I highly recommend. My only quibble is with the
reader/narrator. He's a little to old time radio announcer for my taste and it gets a little irritating. Also the book could use a little updating, although it is not a fatal flaw by any means.
    Good baseline
What did you love best about CustomerCentric Selling?
It's a really good book to review when starting a new job. The techniques can be applied to most enterprise sales situations.
What other book might you compare CustomerCentric Selling to and why?
    New Solution Selling
Let's get real or not play
Have you listened to any of Chris Ryans other performances before? How does this one compare?
    No
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    No
    Great job
This book is excellent for any sales manager looking for greater control over his team pipeline and sales process. The book teaches a pragmatic organization of the sales process and provides great insights to the buyer purchasing process. My adivece: listen and use it!
