This is a fabulously fun look into the possibility of alien life in the universe and on Earth ...
Ylleek was seriously wondering if there could be life on another planet. It would be an exciting venture to the blue planet in the distance, but they were ready to take the risk. The alien creatures would "carefully prepare and hope they [would] make it to Earth--and back home again." No doubt these green creatures with their purple eyes are fictitious beings, but then again are they? Here on Earth we've also wondered if there is life on other planets and if they are making an attempt to visit us. What do you think?
According to physicist, Stanton Friedman, we need "the development of advanced technology" in order to reach the stars. Perhaps there are civilizations out there who already have this technology and have been taking a close look at life on Earth. In order to form your own opinion, you'll have to ponder the reports of people who claim to have seen everything from unusual beings to spacecrafts that have landed or crashed. Perhaps you are a doubting Thomas when it comes to believing in UFOs, but a few of the stories in this book just might sway you!
The book, "starting with the first UFO report filed with the U.S. military in 1947," relates one event that happened in each decade, ending with a tale from a very frightened family who had a visitation from aliens who touched down in Monahans, Texas in 2009. One person claimed these creatures "looked very skinny like they had no meat on their bones ... their heads were large and their arms ... hung down to their knees." In this book you'll read about sightings from around the world, including a few that proved to be elaborate hoaxes. In some instances, only one or two people sighted something unusually alien, but what about the sixty-two children who panicked and screamed when they experienced a strange visitation in Ruwa, Zimbabwe in 1994?
This is a fabulously fun look into the possibility of alien life in the universe and on Earth.

    Title: Flying Saucers
Subtitle: The Mysterious History of the UFO Phenomenon
Author: Charles River Editors, Sean McLachlan
    Narrator: Colin Fluxman
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 1 hr and 46 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 04-24-17
    Publisher: Charles River Editors
    Genres: Nonfiction, Unexplained Phenomena
    Publisher's Summary:
When people think about unidentified flying objects (UFOs), they tend to think of flying discs piloted by gray beings with large heads and enormous eyes. They tend to think that these sightings only started relatively recently and that belief in UFOs is some sort of modern religion brought on, perhaps, by the very justifiable fears of a nuclear age. But a study of the phenomenon quickly reveals that humanity has been seeing UFOs since the beginning of recorded history and perhaps a lot longer than that. Modern Ufology focuses on mysterious lights on Ceres or tales of alien abduction, but this wasn't always the case. Looking at how belief in the UFO phenomenon has changed and how it has stayed the same sheds new light on how culture and belief changes over time. You don't have to believe humans are actually being visited by aliens from another planet to recognize the importance of UFOs in human society. Any widespread belief that endures for centuries is worthy of study, and as always, cases exist that can't be explained away as simple "belief"....

    Historical nonsense
I stopped reading when I discovered the author made up his own version of World War Two. Too stupid to even be fun.

Length: 4 hrs and 7 mins

    Publisher: VIDDA Publishing
    Genres: Nonfiction, Unexplained Phenomena
    Publisher's Summary:
With the rise of food intolerances in our modern world which are rising to epidemic levels, have you ever stopped and wondered what is actually going on in our bread making industry?
The questions and answers covered inside this book:
I'm going to be very honest with you. Before writing this book I knew nothing about baking in 21st-century Britain. Intuitively, I knew there were going to be concerns from which questions would emerge. I was not surprised to discover that mass produced bread consumed in the UK is loaded to the max with additives, e numbers, and other chemicals.
Some of these substances such as vitamin C are familiar to us, others such as mono and di-glycerides, perhaps not. So, if you know nothing about how most bread in 21st-century Britain is made, you're in good company.
The principle reason for putting the book together presents itself; very few people seem to know how their bread is made, what it contains or where it comes from. My hope is that this book will go some way to filling that knowledge gap. Writing about modern bread making certainly enlightened me; hopefully the same will be true of you.

    Publisher's Summary:
As strange as this sounds, this happens to people all over the world all of the time. We hear stories of creatures entering a person's bedroom while they are sleeping and lifting them through the ceiling into a craft. We hear stories of women who have been impregnated by these creatures. These women report being abducted just before the offspring was due and it being taken by these creatures.
Recently women have been coming forward claiming that these aliens have taken them to see their offspring, these hybrid human-alien creatures.
Most of the time, people just roll their eyes and chalk these stories up to wanting attention or a mental illness, but what would you do if it was you?
As you go through the stories that are in this book, really think about what the person went through. Open your mind up and ask yourself, what did they have to gain by claiming that they had been abducted?
We're going to begin this book by taking a look at the history of aliens, asking ourselves if it is possible that they really do exist. We'll learn about ancient aliens, compare the mythological gods to alien creatures and even talk about the relation between aliens and demons.

    Title: The Whitby Ghost Book
    Subtitle: Hauntings Legends & Superstitions
    Author: Paul Fitz-George
    Narrator: Time Winters
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 1 hr and 15 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 02-01-17
    Publisher: English Ghosts
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 2 votes
    Genres: Nonfiction, Unexplained Phenomena
    Publisher's Summary:
A collection of 22 supernatural tales about the old seaport of Whitby on England's beautiful and mysterious North East Coast. Stories include tales about ghosts, vampires, the fairy folk ,and the ancient customs and superstitions of the town's sea-folk, all of which paint a suitably spectral sketch of the ghostly goings on in this famous old town over the centuries. The origins of creatures and specters from the imaginations of Bram Stoker and Wilkie Collins feature in this book, put together by the former Collector of Dues of Whitby Harbour, Paul McDermott (now Paul Fitz-George since taking his wife's prestigious family surname...a new man in every sense!). He was, during his service there, able to pry some spectral gems and first hand reports from the citizens and old salts he dealt with at the harbor on a day-to-day basis and the book's stories featured in programs he appeared in for both BBC TV and ABC Television. Also included in this book is the research he carried out on some of the more ancient tales of this one-time Viking, Norman, and, in particular, 18th-century ship-building port, this carried out in the famous and fascinating archives of The Whitby Literary and Philosophical Society, of which he was a member. This is an updated edition of the original 1987 paperback.
    Members Reviews:
    Helpful for Dracula Fans
Brief, slightly creepy stories from the town, some referencing Stoker's inspirations, are slightly marred by unfortunate sound effects and story headers. Other than those annoyances, the narration is largely well done. The audiobook is priced appropriately for its short running time.
    Good Book Despite CREEPY Cover
    4/5 The Whitby Ghost Book
Summary: A peek into the supernatural goings on in Whitby, England.
    Additional Comments:
    - Writing and narration are both good, though I could do without the sound effects. Sometimes they help, but in this case, they just made some sections hard to hear.
    - Covers pretty creepy, but it fits the mood nicely.
    - A nice companion piece to the West End Ghost Book (though I think this one was actually the first book).
Conclusion: Historical supernatural accounts. Not exactly sure what to call them.
*I received a free audiobook, but all views expressed in this review are my own.
    SPOOKY, FUN AND EXPERTLY NARRATED
Would you consider the audio edition of The Whitby Ghost Book to be better than the print version?
I thoroughly enjoyed the narrators voice. Deep and Vincent Price-ish, with a delivery which was paced just right for the book.
What did you like best about this story?
This is a collection of ghost stories taken from events and folklore in and around Whitby. I am familiar with the Authors other books and this work expanded on those beautifully. However this is not just a book for Whitby lovers, there is a wealth of Hell-hounds, Grims, Wafts and all things supernatural to tantalize.
What about Time Winterss performance did you like?
Time added a lot of variety to this book, quirky accents and lovely pace.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I was interested in the custom that young ladies performed to see their future husband...interesting use of a cake and stocking...
    Any additional comments?
A good way to spend just over two hours!
