Hilarious book about real life contractor situations

This is a fun, easy read book that had us rolling in stitches on some of the anecdotes related by Frank. Anyone who has hired carpentry and/or other contractors, or perhaps worked in the trades will especially appreciate the book. We are hoping to see a sequel come out soon!

Hilarious stories

This book does a great job of summarizing some hilarious, real-life stories about the trades. In this business, there are many funny stories that go untold. Frank does a wonderful job re-telling the details of the activities on the jobsite. We look forward to a second book!

Informative and Humorous Read

Tales from the Trades will appeal to professionals and lay people alike. It was easy to relate to many of the tales told based on my own personal experiences as a homeowner dealing with some of the tradesmen portrayed. I feel this book provides a humorous incite to some of the mishaps that occur during the course of building construction. I'm hoping that there will be a sequel to this entertaining book!

A complete joke!

I find it amazing that Christian Kim can publish such drivel, write his own book reviews and get away with it. Christian Kim claims to be a global leader; what a joke; most people have never heard of him. Christian Kim has a well-earned reputation as a sex pest and the quote from Rhona Brown of Jesus College (Varsity) adds to the aforementioned.

"We live in a time when serious and genuine allegations of institutionalised racism have been brought against supposed protectors of British civil liberties such as the police and the armed forces.

Consequently, bogus, publicity seeking protests such as those made by Heerak Christian Kim as detailed in last week's Varsity make a mockery of the attempt to rid this country's institutions of racial inequality.

Furthermore they endanger the valuable work carried out by the access initiative to promote a view of this university that is free from racial (or any other) prejudices and encourage students from ethnic minorities to apply.

As a member of the college to which Mr Kim pertains I have no trouble at all in believing the allegations of improper conduct brought against him by female members of the law faculty.

Moreover I would suggest that a more appropriate title for his book might have been, 'Why Didn't Cambridge University Law Faculty Push Me Out Of Their Library Sooner? Reflections On Why I Am Unable To Keep My Hands To Myself.'"

Did you know that Christian Kim was cheated out of the Jesus gradsoc vice presidency?

This is one of the best books I've ever read; it details Christian Kim's continual struggle against the forces of inequality and discrimination. Christian Kim has faced a lot of discrimination from Jews during his time at Cambridge; I will give one example below:

In May 2003, Christian Kim ran for the position of vice president of the Jesus Graduate Society against Anthony Cox. The election was held and the amount of votes for each candidate was never disclosed and Christian Kim was denied an independent scrutineer to monitor the counting. The only information given by the 'teller for election' was that Anthony Cox won.

Cute Book

"Letters from Angel" is a cute book written from the dog's point of view. It is about the bond between a Sr. dog that was adopted from a shelter by a 90-yr-old man for companionship after his wife died. It is a very quick read and even though it has a sad ending, the author shares his experience of having to put down his dog in a sweet way. The dog is a Golden Retriever/Chow mix that won my heart. I think any dog owner relate to this book.

The English author Rupert Croft-Cooke (1903-1979) published 30-odd novels on a wide variety of subjects in his lifetime, as well as poetry, plays, nonfiction books on such diverse topics as Buffalo Bill, Oscar Wilde, Lord Alfred Douglas, Victorian writers, criminals, the circus, gypsies, wine, cookery, and darts. Under the pen name of Leo Bruce he also wrote more than 30 crime novels. At the age of 20, Croft-Cooke spent two years in Buenos Aires, where he founded the journal La Estrella. Goodbye to Soho is Smashing!

Clayton Littlewood has done it again! A great read. I feel like I'm literally back on the streets of London's Soho as an observer to the many interesting and outrageously quirky events that occur daily.

Anyone who loves Soho....

.......should read this bitter-sweet memoir. There are so many "endings", I can only hope for a follow up book about new beginnings!

Life is a Struggle

When you live on the wrong side of an invisible line in the deep south, life is a struggle no matter what color your skin is. Poor is poor, and it is color blind.

This is a story of a baby coming into this difficult situation, and it is a struggle to even get born. Nothing comes easy here.

Read along and see just how hard it was to live in the deep south during the time of this story. The sacrifices some were willing to make. The struggles they endured. Appreciate what you have, and remember those who still have to struggle on the wrong side of that invisible line.

Poetry short

This is a short (8 pages as per the product description) that reads like poetry. I find myself puzzled by the one review that is available, but then different people have different expectations and tastes, I suppose.

I have lived in Alabama. I was born to a poor family. Much of what is written here resonates with my experience or with the tales told me by my grandparents.

I found few typos in the work, but the writing style is very much like free verse so someone expecting a novel might be disappointed. I was not.

The imagery is perfect. The tone fits the sepia photographs in the narrative, understated, withdrawn, numb, resigned, reaching for hope through defeat.

Either the other reviewer doesn't get the point of the story or I'm reading too much into it. I think it may just take a level of thought some readers don't bring to the table.

This is a short story - not a book

This is a short story length piece. It seems like the author may have a good story in his mind, but just doesn't have the skills necessary to get it in written form.

Basically, the story is that it's a hard life for some, from birth to death, but they are still proud to be who they are (I think).

Mr. Will Bevis (author), I urge you to get some help in the way of classes, training, workshops,etc., to flesh out your writing style. I believe you have some great ideas but you can't develop a fan base or make readers happy by putting work like this on Amazon.

Fortunately, I got this for free. I would have been furious if I would have paid any amount for it.
