Good Children's Tale Without Being Too Soft

Where does The Adventures of Jack and Jill in the Realms of Beyond rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

The use of a full cast to record this book definitely put it higher up the ranks of my favorite audiobooks, but I find it difficult to give it a numeric value.

What did you like best about this story?

Every major character had a full story arc, including my favorite, who might have easily been left out of the ending.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

They were able to give each character a very specific voice, which made it easier to envision them in my mind.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Nipkin's actions toward the end were quite touching, but I won't go into details in order to avoid spoilers.

Any additional comments?

This book features an interesting mix of mythologies that I think is very appropriate for children's fiction. After all, is it not all stories to them?

Fairytale about dreams and the afterlife

In the beginning, I was thrown a bit. My first thought was "This is for kids?"

I had those thoughts because when the mother's backstory was given, I didn't think it was too appropriate for children. Not that it was bad, just seemed disconnected with what kids would be interested in.

But after that, the story dove straight into a magical world of dreams and the afterlife. My favorite character by far was Goblin, a snarky little ghost who longed to be reborn as a human.

The 'laws' of having children is something entirely new, which was refreshing.

Definitely worth a listen for (my) kids.

I have had bad experiences with numerous narrators, but this motley crew did a bang up job, and the background sounds fit in perfectly.

Warm-hearted and fun must read story!

Celia and Alice are identical twins that live with their cruel stepmother and two nasty stepsisters. Father is always at work. Celia and Alice are the ones that do all the "housework" even though the stepsisters try to cause them more work and are just plain nasty. Somehow Celia and Alice are always happy which make the stepmother and stepsisters madder than their normal mad attitude. Stepmother decides she has to get rid of Alice and Celia or her own daughters will never get married. The stepmother leads them to the forest and leaves them there. Celia and Alice know they are not wanted back at home but how will they survive in the forest. Remembering that their fairy godmother, Mozzarella lives in the enchanted forest, they decide to go there even though it's scary. Mozzarella welcomes them and tells them they can't live their--the sisters must separate and find their future. She leads Celia and Alice safely out of the enchanted forest with two gifts. One is an enchanted ring for each sister that will let the other sister know if one of them is in trouble and needs help from her. The other gift Mozzarella gives each of them is a suit that will keep them safe from harm. Celia is looking forward to being outdoors while Alice is afraid. However they follow Mozzarella's suggestion and separate. Both have wild and suspenseful adventures. I don't want to tell anymore of the story as there would be spoilers!

This tale is a mix of unrecognizable fairy tales that I'm sure the adults will recognize but not the younger generations. I like this new mix of fairy tales made into one story. The tale has made me smile, laugh out loud, and be sad for a moment or two. The Silver Rings put a big smile on my heart that stayed after this tale ended. I find that smile on my heart popping out as I think of this fantastic tale!

A wonderful fairy tale

This book is filled with excitement which makes it quite suspenseful. I like how Sam Valentino created this story using ideas from traditional fairy tales without making it predictable. My favorite part is the illustrations.

Love it!

Hardy Boys move over! The Klopt boys are back in another action filled family adventure that pit siblings against another spine tingling mystery. These characters are too much fun to let go. I'm so glad that the author, T.W. Kirchner decided to add another great read to the series.

Zombies Y'all is a fun pure southern piece of zombie fiction with a new twist. These are no ordinary zombies the townsfolk, students and a voodoo princess setout to destroy. Nope, they are much more than that! So get your frogs (zombies are afraid of frogs!) out and enjoy!

JK Bovi creates a new twist to the zombie genre and makes it fun! Bringing together several story threads and bringing them together in an expert fashion just makes the story more fun. Bovi brings the apocalypse to a hilarious beginning and end. This is an audiobook for zombie enthusiasts and those that just need a good old-fashioned laugh.

Johnnie C. Hayes performs this audiobook spectacularly drawing out the southern drawl perfectly captivating every listener. He performed the book well and in true southern fashion.

A must listen for zombies lovers of all ages!

Great read for young horse lovers

Barb Morgenroth knows her subject--and her audience. Every kid can identify with the fears and doubts--and the rush that comes with "going for it," whether it's riding really fast, jumping a really big obstacle, or going out cubbing with the foxhunting set. Throughout the book, confidence builds--and tension mounts. Will the new best friends be separated at the end of summer. . .or live close enough to ride together?

I enjoyed this well enough

I enjoyed this well enough. It is a nice easy book for kids around11 to 16 or so. I like the fact that the author is quite knowledgeable about all horse details and types of riding. At least anyone reading it won;t get incorrect ideas. The characters are fairly one dimensional but as an adult I am not sure exactly how much one should expect from a child's book. Things in real life don't often go quite this easily but at least it gives them the feeling that they do have a chance at their horsey type dreams!

Good horse story

The story is interesting, although the plot seems to plod along in places. I think the writing is a little rambling, but that being said, it was mostly an enjoyable read.

Great read for all ages!

My 10 year old daughter and I both loved it.

It was age appropriate for her, but also kept my interest.

We both recommend this to our friends.

If Barbara Morgenroth writes another book in the series I will get it on the day it comes out. This is literally the best book EVER. If u like stories like this then I would ask the author for a sequel.

This is an incredibly entertaining kids book and ranks highly amongst those we've listened to.

The premise. This really is a fun idea for a novel - who hasn't dreamt of jumping into their favorite movie???

Don't want to spoil anything but we really liked the humor in the book - and there were some especially funny scenes.
