BLOOD DOESN'T MAKE A FAMILY.. LOVE DOES

Firstly, from the cover I thought this was going to be the typical dirty talking rough Alpha MMA Fighter.... but I was totally wrong because Jax is an absolute sweetie. Yes, he's the Owner of a Gym that trains MMA Fighters (himself included) but he doesn't have the vibe about him at all. In fact he first meets Rowan in the ER after she's been left alone by her scumbag of a boyfriend and is in labor and, as soon as Jax sees the beautiful heavily pregnant Rowan everything clicks, whirs and drops into place for him and he knows, right then and there, that he's going to move heaven and earth to be in this strong woman's life.

But of course Rowan is too busy screaming, panting and clutching at this stranger's hand to fully appreciate her handsome savior.... he's there, he's kind and he knows her Brother Tyler (who's doing a short time in Prison) and that's good enough for her. So softie Jax ends up in the delivery room too reassuring and trying to soothe Rowan... all while his hand is being crushed. The storyline then tries to capture the care and concern Jax has for both Rowan and her baby - but Rowan, who has had a terrible childhood, is haunted with vicious words once said and suffers P.P. depression too so rejects Jax's offer of friendship. But Rowan's unaware that for three months they've had her savior watching out for them both until it's time for patient Jax to slowly up his game, reintroduce himself and claim his family..... that is until the scumbag returns.

It's a sweet and touching story of instant attraction but the build-up is slower, there's a bit of angst, some sex, humor, plenty of character development and lots of interesting secondary MMA Fighters whose fun personalities and witty banter are all well described. Jax also hasn't had an easy childhood and his train wreck of a Father causes a few arguments and there's a dislikeable MMA groupie doing the rounds with anyone interested. Dual POV's and the narration was good.

Worth a credit? Yes, it certainly wasn't what I was expecting but it was still very enjoyable because all the main characters were so likeable.... especially the thoughtful, loving, possessive, supportive and generous Superhero Jax.

Wonderful Story

Nobody crafts a story like Laura Spinella and Perfect Timing is a no exception. The one thing I like about Laura's books is that there is no fluff. She writes about things that are sometimes hard to listen to but that's life. The only negative I have is that I would point out is I would love to have had a better idea of what

Grassroots Kids was all about. All we know is that it helped kids.

Since there was no epilogue, Ms. Spinella left things open for a sequel and I hope she will write one!

slow got me

started off so slow & I kept saying I was going to return the book. but then it got pretty good.this ones a keeper.

Like Spinella's other work better.

This story was stupid, with dumb female characters and too many stereotypes... The perfect blond male protagonist, etc. The characters did not feel authentic. The first 30-45 minutes was filled with too much dialogue amongst female coworkers babbling on about celebrity gossip. It made me want to shoot my phone. Pure torture to have to listen to that for such a long time. Think the author could have gotten her point across without putting readers through such unnatural and cliche dialogue. I thought this story would have more mystery to it but it was not like Spinella's other work at all. I did not finish this book.

The narrator was fantastic.

Male (bi racial)falls for nanny then changes mind

A biracial father (black white) looking for older nanny for his daughter but, reluctantly hired a young female (black) that needed a job. With in 24 hours the father finds himself attracted to "nanny" & makes out with her.. This story seems extremely fast paced. The father has issues betraying his deceased wife and secrets around her death effects both of the characters. Mis communication and lack of full disclosure causes huge problems. In fact, secret plans and agreements are through out this story & the lead characters complicated lives that strain the "budding" relationship. But, a Qwick lustful decisions have lasting effects. But, everything works out.

My Musings

I really loved the characters, especially the hero's daughter. Good depth of emotion. I would read other books by Ms. Ross. The narrator is very good. Happy reading!

This story was really thought provoking. Secrets all over the show and they interfered with and almost ruined what seems to be an almost perfect love match.

Beautifully written and just as well narrated. Read or listen to this book. It's well worth it.

I love this series! I wish the complete series were recorded/audiobooks. This narrated did a remarkable job!

Decent with annoyances

The story in this book was decent, although the plot twists were obvious and some of the heroines actions were annoyingly naive. The other issue is the narrator. First, her grasp of context and tone left a lot to be desired. Second, the heroine is African American and the hero is biracial, but the narrator is Caucasian. Her voice fit the story even less than the cover, which depicts a lighter complexion woman with long hair. The heroine is described as a darker complected woman with extremely short hair. Overall, it was a decent story, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Im all for a book with love scenes but they seemed to be frequent and the same. Overall it was a decent book. This author is growing on me!

Another wonderful love bwwm story from NANA MALONE

Nana Malone is a talented in story telling mixing drama, suspense and DIVERSITY. Wonderful mixture of people & places that the characters interact with.. BRAVO!! Yes, this and ANY story by Nana Malone is worth the money.. Great job Nana!!! Wish she throw in a paranormal alpha male shifter.. hee hee

Awesome story with rushed ending.

I loved the story, character development, and the writer's style. My only complaint was that the ending was rushed. One person who seemed important in the beginning was completely forgotten, and an epilogue would have been nice, given the build up. Lastly, the narrator was fine, except she uses the same voices for each hero and heroine in the entire series.

Great Continuation of an Amazing Series...

Nana Malone's "Love in Plain Sight" is as Intriguing as the rest of her work. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Sara and Dillion's story. My interest was piqued from beginning to end. I knew the deal with Ava immediately and wasn't surprised when her secret was revealed. Taj is something else, but is a very true friend. I always enjoy catching up with the Donovan clan and reading about what is going on with them since previous stories in this series.

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I remember a couple of the girls in my high school class who giggled and gushed about guys all day long. But there weren't too many... and none of them went on to college. The characters must go to work to gossip and giggle, because the author only mentions their "work" as an aside. They do not seem to be invested in their careers in any way. The narrator should be doing children's books... Truly awful.

Ended to quickly

What would have made The Moment We Began better?

This story line just ended so quickly. There were a couple of story lines that should have been explored but the author decided to jumble it all together in a quick ending. Sad, besides of the heroine's lack of any spine she did a decent job.

She had a wonderful voice that I was happy to listen to.

Can't remember their names but her best friend and her boyfriend, they added nothing. I'm somewhat surprised that the brother was weak also, but this wasn't his story.

I liked being able to listen while driving to work and feeling for all the characters like I was right there with them the same way I do when I read any of Sarra Cannon's stories on Kindle.

What about Carly Robinss performance did you like?

I think the narrator, Carly Robins, did a great job narrating the story. I am not a big audible fan and usually prefer to read on my Kindle but she made it so I didn't want to get to where I was driving to so I could continue listening to the story.

I would definitely recommend this story. It is the second in Sarra Cannon's Fair Hope series and I loved it. I would recommend listening or reading any of Sarra Cannon's books.

Here we go again with another great story.

What did you love best about The Best Friend?

I loved the direction the story took. Most of the characters have been really put on the back burner for this story. It mainly focuses on Grethen and Tony. We are introduced to Helen and her grand daughter who play a huge role in this story.

What does Brittany Pressley bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

She does a great job with the characters, tone, and the mood set for this book. The previous books she seemed really seductive. Now, we are getting more to a natural voice which makes the stories way more enjoyable.

This story shows the flip side of Gretchen. As a reader, I seen her as this very unbreakable person who helps people unconditionally. As the book progressed it almost seemed like she was keeping score. I feel like she became very selfish and kept reminding Tony that he was nothing before her. However, anyone in her position might be the same way.

Being the main person who helps him along the way then he amounts to way more then they expected. She becomes selfish and if someone said the things she did to me I would of put them in their place. I was very surprised on how Tony reacted. However, it did make a great ending.

Great story. I would say it is safe to say this book unlike the others really doesn't need any warning labels on the content. It's tasteful and well written. Glimpse of hot sex and language. Compared to the other books it is very mild.

Love it

The 1st book was really good this one better the series is a must so on to book 3.

Just ok

I usually love Kirsten Potter as a narrator but her English accent wasn't good at all. She tried her best with adding the emotion needed to bring the story to life but our heroine was very very difficult to like. The ending felt too cookie cutter and forced. So it's an ok story for me. I liked the first book a lot better.

Wonderful series is even better in audio!

I love this series so much! I've laughed, cried and everything in between. I especially loved the audio versions so much, I bought all of the paperback versions a few weeks ago so my 18-year daughter could read them and travel to Gandiegow Scotland herself. She loved them just as much as I did!! My only complaint is this wonderful Scottish community is fictional. :D Can't wait for the next book in the series!
