Chelsea is out of work, between homes, and nearly out of money when she find the opportunity of a lifetime simply lying in the trash. It's a prepaid vacation voucher - room, meals, and clothing all included. All she has to do is get on a bus and for the next 10 days she'll be sleeping in a bed instead of her car. Unfortunately, the voucher is for a place called The Castle and no one lives in Granger for long without hearing one or two things about that very adult resort. Still, prepaid is prepaid, and just because she goes to the resort it doesn't mean she has to participate, right?

Then she meets Selena, and suddenly Chelsea's a slave girl in a BDSM wedding, an unwilling confidant in a secret Sara can't bear to tell Jackson, the enigma Master Marshall just can't figure out...and then there's Kade. The big bad wolf is what Selena calls him: he biggest and baddest the Castle has ever known. Everyone warns her to steer clear of the playboy master, but right from the very start steering clear is the one thing Chelsea can't bring herself to do. From the moment he smiles at her - the moment his experienced touch burns into her skin - she's drawn.

Poor little red: She never had a chance.

If you like monotone reading...this is for you!

What did you like best about Chasing Chelsea? What did you like least?

Like the premise of the story. The ending was a little flat. Very anti-climactic.Narrator needs to learn to breathe through her nose and not her mouth and to differentiate between characters. I would get lost on who was saying what because I couldn't tell which character was speaking.

Has Chasing Chelsea turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, but from this narrator, yes.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Anna Starr?

Vaness Chambers, Grace Grant, Edita Brychta, Becca Bettoe.....

Did Chasing Chelsea inspire you to do anything?

No.

Great Story!

I love the Masters of the Castle series - and this is no exception. I did enjoy the narrator as well. The only complaint I have is that the audio should have been edited to cut out the mistakes. There are a couple of times where the narrator clears her throat. There is another part where she makes a mistake and, instead of it being edited out, she starts a sentence over.

Great narration - Editing mistakes = Awesome customer aural experience.

I do have one question regarding the other books in this series -- When will the other books in this series be released in the audio version?

Amazed!!

I absolutely loved this book. the writing style, the story, the narrator, the characters! It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time!

OMG I am about to ....

The best book I ever listen to. The Narrator only messed up a couple times but I would give her a 4.5 star as narrators. The story is very good. I really enjoyed ever word of the book. I have told all my friends about the book and told them they should pick it up with no hesitation. Personally, I think that Anna Starr should narrate all of Maren Smiths books because she did an awesome job.

Signed as always,

Mz. Genni.

Excellently Captivating.

Loved it, it keeps me wanting more. The narrator was wonderful in the delivery of the story.

one of her best

one of crista McHugh's best, possibly my favorite so far of the Kelly Brothers. it kept my interest til the very end, didn't want to skip to the end at all.

It just keeps getting better!

I am loving this series!! Keeps me interested with different topics - not the same old thing in each book. Interesting characters and I can't say enough about Therese Plummer!! Crista and Therese make a great pair!!!

My fav of the series

Great listen and by far my favor of the series. The story line and narration were awesome

Spoilers

I enjoyed the first half of the book. Well, maybe enjoy is too strong a word, but it wasn't end the book and return it horrible. I got into it. That is, until the end. I hate books where, spoiler alert, women turn into whiners and connivers at the end of the book. I'm sorry, you're telling him a relationship is nothing without trust? Where was her trust in him? Gag. It's not supposed to be a one way street. Whatever. First half of the book? Enjoyable. Second half of the book? Not so much. Read or listen if you're okay with whiney women.

Laugh out loud hilarious and scorching hot!!

Any additional comments?

I wasn't sure about this one, in fact I had it in my wish list for several weeks before I decided to give it a go...this just proves to me once again that one cannot always judge a book by its cover. I'm so glad I gave it a chance! The OG's are laugh out loud hilarious grandmas. Meddling and crazy with their auto-correct texting issues, they are the comic relief needed to offset the sometimes intense drama between our hero and heroine. The sex scenes are great and although their lack of communication is frustrating at times, the hero and heroine are likable. This book ticks all my boxes, and I cannot wait for the next book in this series! Elle Aycart has become an automatic download for me.

Glad I can get a refund

Story started with potential then when down hill. The narrator read mechanically, I had to speed up his voice so there wasn't a long pause between each word. Characters were not well developed. The main characters kept repeating each scene in their head like I hadn't just listen to it. Both of them kept repeating all their flaws like we hadn't already learned about what terrible people they thought they were. I would not recommend this book.

Good Listen.

Loved the book. Loved the storyline and characters. Narrator did fine except...

I wish they'd had someone double-check the Narrator's pronunciation of actual town names. Placerville was mispronounced multiple times and it was a bit distracting, each time.

Title: Ever After Drake

Subtitle: The McCain Saga, Book 1

Author: Keary Taylor

Narrator: Stephanie Bentley

Format: Unabridged

Length: 5 hrs and 56 mins

Language: English

Release date: 12-19-14

Publisher: Keary Taylor Book, INC

Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 34 votes

Genres: Romance, Contemporary

Publisher's Summary:

It was my first day as a brand new high school teacher. But I got dumped that morning. Via text. And then one of my students hit on me. And the rest of the day was a complete mess. The beautifully single Mr. Drake McCain found me in my classroom, feeling sorry for myself. And not sixty seconds later he had me laughing and electricity racing through my blood.

My family is broken and complicated. I literally don't know my biological father's name. My mother is absent and my half-brother barely knows who she is. But Drake? He's not complicated. He's sweet and kind and insanely adorable, and comes from a wonderful family. He is everything I want.

The chemistry between us? It's there in spades. I keep telling myself that I should be feeling really awful and depressed since I just got dumped a few days ago. But I keep getting this ridiculous smile on my face every time Drake is around and it's kind of hard to keep telling myself that.

I'm Kaylee Ray. I believe in fairy tales and happily ever afters, and maybe the search for Prince Charming is over.

Cue reality check.

All books in The McCain Saga may be read independently. This is a family saga and each book is about a different sibling. The following are listed from oldest to youngest sibling.

Ever After Drake, Moments Of Julian, Depths Of Lake, Playing It Kale (January 20, 2015)

Members Reviews:

I was so annoyed with the narrator

Barely made it 5 minutes with the narrator, will not finish this series of books.

A Sweet Love Story

This story wasn't what I expected when I picked it up -- it's sweeter than I thought, but the author did an admirable job of drawing in the reader and throwing in the unexpected. They fall in love quickly, but that's where the trouble and heartbreak begin. I was definitely rooting for their well-deserved HEA.

Insta Love. Blah.

Any additional comments?

Sweet Story. Could be good I guess. But it's insta love, which I hate. And random angst that isn't needed, the characters are likeable, but there isn't really romance. I may have been able to finish it without the insta love and needless angst... but since that is the majority of the story I couldn't finish it.

Members Reviews:

New Series New Author

D.D. Ayres is a new author for me but I will be looking for the next book in this series. This was a really good book with lot's of action and a very well done story line. Loved the dog in this story. "Bogart" is a K-9 who fell in love with Shay, who rescued him from being put down. Of course thinking his partner has been stolen James track's them down. Spark's start to fly when he find's them. Jeffrey Kafer did the narration and it was excellent. He is perfect for this kind of book. Sure hope D.D Ayres used him to narrate the next book in this series.

If you wants strong female character, this is NOT the book for you

Shay does not come across as intelligent or bright. Story had great potential, but Shay reads as a perpetual victim, always jumping to the wrong conclusions. Only finished it due to strong narrator, but that girl got on my last nerve.

LOVE THIS SERIES...HOPE THERE IS MORE COMING

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were very likable and you want them to succeed.

The narrator was excellent and there was plenty of romance and steam...waiting for the next one.

A SEXY SUSPENSE THAT'LL LEAVE YOU PANTING FOR MORE

What a great start to a new series - the action kicks off from the start when handsome Cop James finally tracks down his missing K9 Partner Bogart to a secluded cabin and what he also finds there is Shay who's a sassy sexy spitfire. The tension is high and so is the chemistry but neither one will admit it but James' Cop instincts are on high alert because he knows things aren't what they seem...... and everything snowballs from there.

A very entertaining complex plot which quickly developed as two ex's cause grief and mayhem and a strong heroine who is haunted by a tragic past which makes her insecure and vulnerable and she badly needs a Prince to save her...... even if he's got four legs! It's an action-packed exciting thriller with twists, suspense, drama, danger, sex and a romance that gets tested before it's hardly begun.

Constantly changing dual POV's which was good rather than alternating chapter by chapter views and JK's narration made this a very enjoyable listen.

Worth a credit? It was far fetched fiction at it's finest and just what I hoped for and love.....
