Another Good One

Another good one. Started out a little slow but most of the great ones do. You would never guess the happenings in the story. It was really good. Jacqueline uhn uhn uhn, she was a very diverse character. The strength of Sherry was monumental. True ride or die. Man, Randall, his nerdy butt could have done more in the way of prevention, but shows men are weak! Hit the select button, its good! I promise.

Average Crazy In Love Story

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I wouldn't have made Jaqueline's insanity so apparent so early. I wouldn't have had Randall basically revealing that Jacqueline's claims of their affair were completely fabricated so fast. Identifying Jaqueline as crazy really ends the story there and you can pretty much predict the rest of the book from chapter 25. I also would have liked more background into Jaqueline's mental illness.

Would you be willing to try another book from Lutishia Lovely? Why or why not?

I would be willing to try. The book still held my interest and Lutisha offered a side of insanity/mental illness in the African American community that we rarely see.

This book was awesome. The writer presented a true story of crazy which can be all too real! The narrator illuminated the time and tenor of the text easily. I didn't want to put it down.

Predictable, Bad Narrator

This book was so boring and predictable. As you listen to the story, you can hear the narrator taking these loud gulps, deep awkward breaths and smacking her dry mouth. Disgusting! Also, she had the voice of a person much older than the characters so it was creepy hearing her describe sex scenes. The concept of the book isn't bad but the execution and delivery is horrible.

Untalented narrator

I read this book years ago and although the story has its flaws a still enjoyed it. The audible version is horrible thanks to the narrator. Her voice for the heroine and two male leads were Ok. Her other voices? Annoying, adolescent even childlike. Don't even get me started on her horrible fake laughing and over exaggerated exclamations.

Classic American love story is put together so beautifully and is very entertaining. It takes you on a very emotionally journey with sizzeling hot love making. The performance of Liona Gem and Blake Richard is also very good!!

PERFECT.... A TALE OF ADVERSITY & UNDYING LOVE

As Julia and Ryan's epic love story continues it's hit an all time low after the devastating heartbreaking tragedy that has long-term and very emotional consequences but through it all is Ryan's constant care, devotion and mad love for Julia. As well as Ryan's grief, anguish and turmoil Julia is in her own form of Hell as the world she has always known has disappeared leaving insecurities and a deep unconsolable heart-aching need for Ryan.

As the moving, well-written and very well-narrated story develops and the lovers try to rebuild and focus on to their future lives there's joy, passion, lots of sex, bucket loads of "I love you's" and a beautiful wedding with very romantic words and very intimate moments. The story is also filled with likeable family and friends who all help to create a perfect day for a perfect couple.

Worth a credit? This is a very intense love-story with it's characters staying with you long after the listen has ended and is part of a trilogy which should be listened to in order and is only suitable for the sentimental hopeless romantics who can digest a whole load of sweet n sugary dialogue within the story. I was totally enthralled with this listen and thought it was well worth the credit so I have already begged Audible for book 3 where the couple's devotion to each other will once again be tested.

Hard Dose of Reality Needed

I've read several books in this genre. And come to a couple of conclusions. First, many authors who write about dominate men, men who treat women in a sexual way that society still finds somewhat offensive, try and overcompensate for the male behavior that might be labeled "bad" by making the man a cross between Lancelot, St. Francis, Jeeves the Butler, and a college English professor. They may dominate in the bedroom but everything else about them screams chivalrous, well mannered, saintly, unerringly patient and always grammatically correct. If it weren't for the whips and chains, they would be perfect gentlemen. Other authors in this genre have decided that if the guy isn't going to be a saint inside the bedroom, then he has to be the best looking, wealthiest, most successful and most egotistical man in the world, who never questions his decisions, his lifestyle or his choices - until he meets the one - and then we get to see just a hint of insecurity.

This author opted for the first version of the dominate man in this book. I was pretty sure he rescued kittens from trees and old ladies from burning buildings when he wasn't busy building homeless shelters, ending famine, stopping global warming and beating his girlfriend. Oh, and he used perfect grammar as well.

Most guys are guys, regardless of their sexual preferences. Those preferences don't automatically make them courtly or saintly or insanely wealthy or successful. But authors in this genre feel a real need to compensate. Which makes me wonder if they really are OK with the lifestyles they write about. Especially when most heroes in these books come across as if they do what they do to "help" their partner, who obviously had some problem in her past that made her this way, not because they just like doing it. And that might be the real problem. Relationship stories are about people, not heroes. So stop trying to give them heroic traits.

The author did a pretty good job creating female characters that seemed believable, but the primary male character was nothing but a cardboard cut out of a man. A very boring cardboard cut out at that.

Powerful and Memorable Forever and Always

I LOVED this audio...the story line is a good one and the characters are, for the most part, believable. Caden and Ever's lives are forever and always connected through a clever and skillfully crafted idea. I must admit to getting a bit weary of the angst and the 'overdone' letters (too many...we got the idea early on) but the story of how they met as teenagers, went their separate ways, only to stay connected over many years is quite well done and quite lovely. I still contend, as I have for many of the YA/NA books, that teenagers do not have the emotional maturity that is granted them by so many writers...however, given the events in both Caden's and Ever's lives, they maturity is slightly more acceptable. The book does progress through time as does their relationship and when they finally meet again, it is explosive and wonderful. Be forewarned, the book has a cliffhanger ending that will have you screaming for the second installment of their story. The second and third books are not out in audio yet but should be soon. You may want to read some of the reviews of those final two books of the trilogy before pursuing. The problem is not with Ms Wilder's writing skills at all. She is a gifted and powerful mind. It is the story.

As for the narrators/readers, I love both of these folks. Piper Goodever and Gabriel Vaughn read the wonderful Wilder books Falling Into You and Falling Into Us. Ms. Wilder and Audible know a good thing when they hear it and this book is no exception.

This is a very worthy listen...just be aware that there is a price (emotionally) to be paid at the end of this book and with the next two. I read/scanned them and wished I hadn't.

Other books not here; have bad reviews in places

This first book was good, though I hate the cliffhanger endings that authors are putting in multi-part books now. I enjoyed the story very much. I love the relationship between Cade and Ever.

Cute Love Story!

Would you try another book from Jaci Burton and/or Lucy Malone?

Yes, I love Jaci's stories. We need a different narrator, Lucy was kind of boring.

Most definitely - yes!

Fun sports story but narration a bit wooden

I am listening to a lot of audio books these days because of a long commute and have enjoyed reading Jaci Burton's stories, so I indulged in a set of the Play by Play series audiobooks without trying just one first. That may have been a bit of a mistake.

The story is cute, with designer Carolina and hockey player Drew. It's basically a "the one who got away" story. Drew was cute and wasn't just a testosterone-laden jerk. Carolina seemed down-to-earth but a bit timid and insecure for someone who was otherwise driven.

The narration is where I think the audiobook really fell apart for me. Lucy Malone's voice was rather monotonic, she didn't have a good "male" voice to work with, and her attempts to differentiate female voices seemed to rely a lot on talking faster.faster.faster. Even the sex scenes sounded wooden and fake. There really weren't easily identifiable voices for each character and, once or twice, I had to think to figure out whether Carolina or Drew was "speaking".

I'm going to try another story in this same series with this narrator but if it's as blah in narration as this one, I may not bother with the rest.

Mildly Entertaining - Loved Drew

While the plot was mildly entertaining, NHL player Drew (30) was smart and sexy with hidden depths. It was refreshing to have a strong male "hero" who wasn't arrogant, dominating, selfish and violent. Example: he volunteered to serve Thanksgiving dinner at a homeless shelter.

Carolina (sister of Gray Preston from book 6) was relatively normal for the rich daughter of the Vice President - hardworking, self-sufficient and confident. I liked that she was intent on becoming a successful fashion designer, but didn't understand why Carolina believed that she couldn't have a personal life as well as a career.

When Carolina took Drew home to celebrate Christmas, I wasn't surprised that brother Gray was still an obnoxious jerk. (In previous book Gray liked to hit & degrade his wimpy girlfriend).

lots of drama, sex, violence, drugs

These books arent for everyone, but I love the raw, gritty world that these bikers live in. It wasnt quite as intense or extreme as the first two books, but it still had its moments! There were two stories in one, the main story is about Cage & Tegen but you also get Dirty and Ellies story. Cage & Tegen's love story is the main story. They started out childhood friends, but when Tegen was sixteen, one night changed everything between them. Cage West changed in Tegen's eyes. No longer was he the sweet guy always looking our for her, no longer was he her best friend. No. Now Cage West is only the asshole who broker her heart. No matter what happened between Cage, how much she hates him at times, she has loved him since she was eight years old. That much hasnt changed. As much as she wants to deny it, she's never stopped loving him. The second story is about Dirty and Ellie which is a love story is one born from tragedy. What I enjoy most is that in this ugly world there is still beauty and love, and it just highlights the small things we take advantage of. There is a big sense of family in this book, and although they may not be all blood, they are family where it counts most. The author did it again, she has taken broken, damaged, and completely imperfect characters and managed to write a dark and gritty book that you will not be able to put down until the very last page.

Undeniably great biker romance

When it comes to biker romance, nobody does it better than Madeline Sheehan. I loved this book just as much as the others in the series and I can't wait for more. The narration was off-the-charts great as always! I just seriously hope the next book is about ZZ.

This is Tegen and Cages story. "Love doesnt erase a broken heart, and it sure doesnt change people. But no matter how old, how flimsy, how frayed the rope of love is, it keeps you tethered to the people you love" Madeline Sheehan is an author who isn't ashamed to write the dirty, gritty and horrid parts about a love, she isn't afraid to write about people suffering from the wrongs they've came across in life, and she isn't afraid of writing that not everyone's love story is easy but that it takes work, and it's literally blood, sweat and tears. I for one have to applaud Madeline for that.

Great Narration- Great Story-!! <3

Ok I first have to say is that I love Kate Rudd, shes the narrator on this book, and her voice is just perfect. Ive listened to her a few times, and her voice was the perfect voice for the characters she played in Promise Me.

Promise Me was about heartbreak,new kindled love. Barbie delivered every emotion to this book. I even laughed a ton i- with the help of the voice from the narrator you felt everything.

Lets start with the Prologue- WOW- caught my attention right away. Sabrina a young high school girl finds her boyfriend and her best friend hooking up. Thats when she meets Tyler Anderson. The Bad boy. He finds her while she watches her boyfriend cheat, and comforts her in a way her own boyfriend couldnt comfort her. He makes her make a promise that she would leave the both of them and move on. That was 10 years ago!

Fast ForwardSabrina Chandler- 28 year old who lives in Miami with her crazy protective BFF Julia. First. her roommate is to die for, she is hysterical, and she is totally what a Best friend should act like. Anyways. Sabrina and Julia are in Miami, Sabrina works for a art museum. Sabrina gets mail asking her to come back to there hometown for a high school reunion.

After facing the ex-boyfriend and now the ex best friend , ohh yeah forgot to mention they got married with 2.5 kids! Ok, so she faces the challenges with them but really the only reason why she came back was to see Tyler. Ok.. Tyler was all sorts of good stuff. Hes restaurant owner, good looking and tatted. Nice right? Well She sees him at the reunion, and its almost like they never left each other. I loved how Sabrina grew with the story and never put up with Tylers bull crap. She gave him a run for his money, and in the end you fell in love with both characters. Since this is an audio review- Im telling you will love it. With a set of earphones on and laughing out loud to the story, I fell in love with Barbies writing. And guess what!!! There is going to be a book #2 in the Finding Forever series. Thats right its Julias story!!! Ga. Im soooo excited to here what happens with Julia and Alex- ohh yea Alex, forgot mention him. Alex is Sabrinas boss in Miami The one who wanted to hook with herbut in the end we like Alex!!! If your not into audio, than pick up this book quick great read/ great audio/ great author.!!!!

Every time I hear or see you cry it kills me just a little bit more because I know its me whos to blame for it. Only on the "Hill"

I accidentally ran upon this after reading most of the books from this series. Once again I can't say enough about these books. Don't leave this one out. Loved being close to this two once again.

This book was pretty good. You kinda already know what's happened between Joss and Braden, if you have read Before Jamaica Lane. However it explains the details that we didn't get to see. There is lots of sex scenes (it's their honeymoon after all). I liked seeing a bit of the behind the scenes for the proposal and Jocelyns views on the honeymoon and kids.

This continues to be a well written series.
