This week’s guest is poet Lauren Turner. We talk about her excellent collection The Only Card In A Deck Of Knives, out through Wolsak & Wynn! Hope you enjoy
Hey all! This week’s show features an interview with Roland Gulliver, the new Director at the Toronto International Festival of Authors. The festival starts today! There’s all kinds of really interesting things happening – online, of course, but the spirit remains the same. Gulliver discusses the challenges and opportunities presented by putting together a festival in such unusual circumstances. Tune in!
Hey all! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving if you celebrate such. I actually have a writerly announcement to make for once! I’ve been asked to participate in the Brockton Writers Series on Wednesday Nov. 11. Normally based out of Toronto’s Glad Day Book Shop, this one will obviously be online. I’ll get more information out as it approaches.
Today’s guest is Kristyn Dunnion, who joins us to talk about her great new collection of short stories, Stoop City. Hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did!
Hey everyone! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving weekend. Be safe and be careful but enjoy it.
On today’s program we talk to Shaena Lambert about her new novel, Petra. I had a lot of fun in the conversation and I hope you have some listening to it!
Hey folks! Today’s show features poet James Lindsay. We talk about his latest collection, Double Self-Portrait.
Quite note, soon to be obsolete: if you’re interested in attending an online book launch for Brent Van Staalduinen’s BOY, it’s tonight, Oct 1, at 7 pm. Just visit www.brentvanstaalduinen.com for info! Hosted by me.
Hope everyone out there is doing well! Today’s show features author Dennis Bock. His new novel, The Good German, was released this month. Margaret Atwood described it as “A cunning, twisted, compelling tale of deeply unexpected consequences.” I can’t describe it better than that! Enjoy the show.
I’m not entirely sure how this happened, but we are on episode 200!
It’s fitting that we have something a little different this week. It’s not a novel or a non-fiction book or a chapbook or a poetry collection. It’s Forever Terry: A Legacy in Letters, a collection of letters celebrating the life, dedication and heroism of Terry Fox, on the 40th anniversary of the Marathon of Hope. I was privileged to speak with his brother, Darrell Fox, who acted as editor on this unique book. All proceeds from the book go to support the Terry Fox Foundation. This year’s Terry Fox Run is, like most things these days, virtual. If you’re listening on or before the 20th of September, 2020, you can go here to support or find out more.
Welcome to the autumn, folks! Hope it hasn’t been too bad where you are (the week has been grey here, which…isn’t…helpful?)
Today’s guest is author Mark Sampson. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Mark (however slightly) and it was fun to talk to him again on Get Lit. His novel, All The Animals On Earth, is available now from the good folks at Wolsak & Wynn. Enjoy!
Today’s guest is Jeff Rubin, former economist and best-selling author. We talk about his latest, The Expendables: How The Middle Class Got Screwed By Globalization. Enjoy!
Jowita Bydlowska gained fame and a bit of notoriety with her memoir Drunk Mom. Her hilarious (yet also pointed and critical) novel, Guy, is available through Hamilton’s Wolsak and Wynn!
