    Many interesting Facts
There were a lot of interesting facts and figures based on research and studies. I enjoyed it as a survey taker and numbers person
    A Nice Bunch Of Info!
I do a weekly radio show and these stats are useful before the show to loosen up the guest, etc.
    Three Stars
Entertaining in short bursts, but no linking story line
    Short Stuff
Great bathroom reading; seldom over one page on a Kindle. I bought it when I was about to have surgery, and it served me well. Don't expect to be much smarter when you have finished it.
    Small but interesting book
I keep this book on my desk at work and lots of people like to come in and just read a couple of page. Makes me feel like people actually like me. It's on the smaller side so don't expect a huge normal size book but it does the trick. Anytime I need a boost in my life, I just have to pick it up and start reading it and suddenly I feel smarter!

    Publisher's Summary:
Business as usual gets a new life in Customer Service Is Just Foreplay. This information-packed guide is filled with relevant, modern practices and principles that can be applied to any agent or agency in the insurance industry.
Client interactions have made a major shift over the past decade. Merely providing good customer service has been surpassed by digital tools and strategies that make up a great customer experience. Mobile apps, online chat, and payment systems - as well as 24/7 accessibility - aren't just extras anymore. Agents are charged with evaluating and changing out-of-date business models to keep pace with online competitors.
Jason Cass, owner of JDC Insurance Group, is a thought leader, speaker, agency owner, and champion for the independent insurance industry. As an entrepreneur, Jason has firsthand experience building a profitable agency that can be run both virtually and digitally. In Customer Service Is Just Foreplay, Jason will show you how to do the same.
    Members Reviews:
Passion, wisdom, humor. Every insurance agent should read.
Jason knows insurance, but more importantly he understands marketing and sales. Let's face it, no matter how much you know about (or think you know about) insurance, you still have to be able to market and sell yourself and your agency in today's marketplace.
Jason has provided a roadmap filled with practical ideas and humor to give you and your agency and edge. The one think that I can promise you is that Jason is passionate about serving others in the insurance industry. He cares and this book wraps up his wisdom and sprinkles it with passion to make it a must read.
Loaded with practical ideas for today's insurance agent
A must for every independent agent !!!
Practical ideas for today's insurance agent to be able to continue to compete against the threat of online competition. Jason gives great actionable tips on how agents can embrace technology and other "non" technical tactics to help drive growth and retention.
A couple of my favorite quotes:
"The agents who come out on top will be those who are most responsive to new ideas"
"Communicate with customers by electronically funneling all conversations to your management system through digital platforms such as text, email and social media"
    Regarding an agency website:
--- "Images and videos should also be prominently featured. Incorporate real pictures and background information on your agency and staff, a component thatâs shown to be critical in customer engagement."
-- "Unlike online-only insurance companies, you have the advantage of creating personal relationships with customers. Assigning a face to a name is one extra step thatâll set you apart."
-- "Itâs time to stop thinking of your website as a digital business card and start thinking of it as a customer conversion system."
-- "A website is one of the most important tools your agency has. If used properly, it can turn opportunities into leads and leads into paying customers"
Advice that hits all the right notes
As a longtime daily newspaper executive editor (later in marketing/PR), I always passed along advice to reporters that my mentor give me: Make your story sing and know when the music is over.

    Publisher: Audible Studios
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 3 votes
    Genres: Business, Commerce & Economy
    Publisher's Summary:
An accessible and thorough review of the international financial markets. Life in the Financial Markets - How They Really Work and Why They Matter to You offers the financial services professional, and anyone interested in knowing more about the profession, an entertaining and comprehensive analysis of the financial markets and the financial services industry.
Written by Daniel Lacalle - a noted portfolio manager with EcoFin and well-known media personality - the audiobook goes beyond a simple summary and offers solid advice on the future of the global financial markets. This great resource also includes a review of effective strategies and forecasts the trends that represent potential opportunities for investors.
The audiobook reviews the recent history of the financial crisis and includes information on hot topics such as derivatives and high-frequency trading. An in-depth section on investment banking is written from the perspective of a successful practitioner and provides clarity on several complex and overly politicized elements of the banking system.
The author gives an expert's perspective on the debt markets, monetary policies, and quantitative easing and helps explain the various issues surrounding sovereign debt, the Euro crisis, and austerity versus growth policies.
Comprehensive in scope, this resource also offers an analysis of investment styles, from hedge funds to "long only" investments as well as an in-depth look at corporate communication and its impact on markets and investments.

Beautiful elegant orthodoxy, for better or worse
At best, the reader is treated to a calm voice passing pretty intelligently on corners of the markets, alongside some recent history (through that prism). At worst, the author lapses into un-original passages of repeating the catechism of this era's financial orthodoxy. If you haven't heard this world view in its full elegance before (and I would include lots of lefty conspiracy types of whatever intentions, but too ignorant or perhaps lazy to learn heretofore what they are denouncing with the usual bumper-sticker slogans), this is a pristine, clean presentation of it. I can imagine listening to any number of figures of this stripe in history, from a Medieval functionary of the Roman Catholic Church, to, say, some earnest apparatchik of a Marxist USSR in the mid 1950s, to some (copping Taleb's terminology) pre-2008 neo-Platonist charlatan flacking absurdly wrong (but beautifully internally elegant) risk models. I don't mean to equate this fellow to them, but it has that untouchably perfect sealed-system kind of thinking to it: hard to argue with, if the listener is willing to jettison the discomforts of alternate views. This can help the unwashed and untutored to understand the smugness and resentment and self-justification of the one-percenters: within this beautiful and airless ideology, it makes perfect internal sense. And it DOES make a lot of sense, again, particularly if one lives in a certain rarefied sphere of existence, and not on the gritty streets where I live (and where political and social peace has a price, AND a value, not to be brushed aside). I agree with plenty of this author's view, more than my peers do in the main, but I see its limitations. And you will not find a clearer exposition of this than here.

Subtitle: How I Make $500 a Week Selling Used Auto Parts on eBay
    Author: Master Mechanic
    Narrator: Joe Pocian
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 30 mins

    Publisher's Summary:
Make $500 a week selling used auto parts on eBay!
I'm going to tell you how I make $500 a week (usually much more) selling used auto parts on eBay. And, the great thing is that it's something anybody can do if they don't mind getting a little dirty or greasy.
What I'm going to explain to you doesn't require a fancy education or previous experience selling on eBay. You don't even need to know anything about cars or car parts, really, but if you do it's a big plus that can help you make even more money.
What got me started selling car parts? I had an old Mustang I always planned to restore. Then I got married. We had a kid, and the car sat there in the driveway gathering dust and complaints from the neighbors about it being an eyesore.
Finally, I had enough and decided I'd try to sell it on Craigslist, but I didn't get any takers. I called the scrapyard. They offered me 100 bucks. I was pretty sure a few of the parts alone were worth more than that.
Several days later, I got this crazy idea. What if I part it out on eBay? I was sure to get more than $100.
Over the next three weeks, I pulled every part I could off of that car - shift knobs, shifter arm, distributor, glove box door, hood emblem, and window crank handle. You name a part, I put it up for sale, and the funny thing is - the parts sold.
Someone paid me $33 for a window crank, $25 for the Mustang horse emblem, and $25 for the owner's manual.
It was nuts! People emailed to ask if I had this or that part left. When I got their emails, I'd head back out to the car with my wrench and screwdriver to yank it out for them. I'd come back in the house and list the part on eBay for the agreed upon price.
After three weeks, I'd sold close to $700 in parts from a car the junkyard offered a 100 bucks for.
All I could think was, "I need another car."

    Genres: Business, Commerce & Economy
    Publisher's Summary:
If you had a 10-percent chance of having a fatal car accident, you'd take necessary precautions. If your finances had a 10-percent chance of suffering a severe loss, you'd reevaluate your assets. So if we know the world is warming and there's a 10-percent chance this might eventually lead to a catastrophe beyond anything we could imagine, why aren't we doing more about climate change right now? We insure our lives against an uncertain future - why not our planet?
In Climate Shock Gernot Wagner and Martin Weitzman explore in lively, clear terms the likely repercussions of a hotter planet, drawing on and expanding from work previously unavailable to general audiences. They show that the longer we wait to act, the more likely it is that an extreme event will happen. A city might go underwater.
What we know about climate change is alarming enough. What we don't know about the extreme risks could be far more dangerous. Wagner and Weitzman help listeners understand that we need to think about climate change in the same way that we think about insurance - as a risk-management problem, only here on a global scale.
Demonstrating that climate change can and should be dealt with - and what could happen if we don't do so - Climate Shock tackles the defining environmental and public policy issue of our time.
    Critic Reviews:
"Grover Gardner, one of the most accomplished and experienced audiobook performers, presents the authors' clear-eyed and broad-ranging economic analysis of the consequences of climate change.... As always, Gardner's voice is clear and perfectly paced. He provides the listener with the time to absorb new ideas without seeming too slow. A great narration of an important book." (AudioFile)

    Format: Unabridged
Length: 5 hrs and 1 min
    Language: English
    Release date: 05-18-15
    Publisher: Bibliomotion, Inc
Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 7 votes
    Genres: Business, Commerce & Economy
    Publisher's Summary:
Investing with Impact: Why Finance Is a Force for Good outlines the roadmap to reinvigorate a skeptical public and demoralized financial services industry by making the case that contrary to popular misconception, finance is not the cause of the world's problems, in fact, it can provide the solution. Author Jeremy Balkin presents the case that the finance industry can improve the state of the world by positively influencing the allocation of capital.
The book explains the methodology of Balkin's 6E Paradigm, opening the toolbox to this revolutionary framework for the first time. He helps listeners assess investing through a different lens. In so doing, Balkin expands the impact investment universe, enabling mainstream capital to flow where opportunities generate positive investment returns and have demonstrable social impact.
Described by the Huffington Post as the "Anti-Wolf of Wall Street," Balkin is challenging the status quo on Wall Street by leading the intellectual debate embracing the $1 trillion frontier impact investment market opportunity. The book demonstrates conclusively that, if we can change the culture in finance, we can change the world for the better.
    Critic Reviews:
"Leadership is much less about how to do, and much more about how to be. Jeremy Balkin's Investing with Impact makes a powerful case for ethical leadership in finance." (Frances Hesselbein, CEO, The Frances Hesselbein Leadership Institute; recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom)
    Members Reviews:
Baffled by the yawning chasm between the haves, the have-nots and the have-yachts?
Ok another book about finance and the collapse of Lehman Brothers. But truthfully I enjoyed Mr Balkin's approach to the subject matter.
Angry that the world is so unfair? Infuriated by fat-cat capitalists and billion-bonus bankers? Baffled by the yawning chasm between the haves, the have-nots and the have-yachts?
Mr Balkin argues in a well referenced way that money can do good for the world on the basis of freedom and moral right. It is the next generation that can make it happen better.
Whilst investing can never be a smooth ride. Financial history afterall is a roller-coaster ride of ups and downs, bubbles and bursts, manias and panics, shocks and crashes.
It a uplifting way Mr Balkin puts forward "It is time for people to regain control of their economic destiny. Capitalism is a metaphor for freedom and is the greatest force for properity and opportunity the world has ever known."
    Amen
    LOL Awesome read.
Book was on the recommendation list from Tai Lopez Accelarator Program.
A must read for any person between 30 to 40 years old. Balkin give you documented facts in why the economy changed since 2008 headaches. Balkin give us a timely reminder why the private sector is best placed to generate sustainable economic prosperity.
He goes into how Baby Boomers and Millennials differ on ideals in life and finances.
Wake up folks things are not getting any easier take you personal finances seriously.
The Government can not save you.
    Awesome read.
he shows how an often vilified industry can actually be a force for global good.
Investing with Impact is a game changer! Balkin presents a framework for using capital allocation to produce returns while simultaneously improving society.

In this path-breaking book, renowned corporate expert Lynn Stout debunks the myth that corporate law mandates shareholder primacy. Stout shows how shareholder value thinking endangers not only investors but the rest of us as well. It leads managers to focus myopically on short-term earnings; discourages investment and innovation; harms employees, customers, and communities; and causes companies to indulge in reckless, sociopathic, and irresponsible behaviors.
