    Wonderful, like always.
I can't give enough praise for all the Samantha Sweet books. I'm a devoted mystery fan and even though I would put these books in the genre of 'light reading' I actually am in suspense until the end regarding the 'whodonit'. The only downside (not really) about these books is I was never a cake nor cookie eater until after I started reading this series, and now I've even had dreams about owning a bakery. And, even though there is very mild sexual content, I am gtiving my older kindle to my 11 year old niece with these books on it for her to read and enjoy.
EASTER IS IN SIGHT FOR SAM & HER STAFF. ...
EASTER IS IN SIGHT FOR SAM & HER STAFF. A NEW & UNLIKELY BAKER IS ADDED, FREEING SAM UP FOR THE MORE INVOLVED CAKE DECORATING. BUSY IS STEADY & OVERWHELMING. SAM & HER FRIEND ZOE HAVE FRIENDS IN CARE CENTER & WHEN BOTH PASS AWAY UNEXPECTEDLY, SAM & BEAU FIND THEMSELVES IN THE MIDDLE OF A COMPLEX & DEADLY SCAM. THIS IS A VERY ENTERTAINING READ..
    Bitter Sweet by Connie shelton
I love all of her books. I am at the edge of my chair. Just when you think things are slowing down, you get hit with another surprise. It is homey, and "can't put down" story. I am always anxious to get the next book on my kindle.
    Fifth Samantha Sweet Mystery
This is the fifth in the Samantha Sweet series by Connie Shelton. It picks up soon after the fourth book left off and as this reader becomes more comfortable with the storyline and plot(s) it is beginning to feel like I am looking in on old friends. One old friend I have been missing, though is the Male "diva" friend of Sam's who writes the romance novels on the side. It would be nice if Connie made more attempts to add him into her stories a bit more, because he adds just the right amount of qwirkiness that helps a good mystery become less heavy and more of a romp. I am NOT asking for a "Lula" I would just like to have his good-natured take on the happenings around Taos.

The narrator is the star of this audiobook!
The Dead Man is Book 2 of Joel Goldman's Jack Davis series. It is an superb serial murder thriller with a surprise twist on the identity of the killer.
Jack Davis continues to have his severe whole body tremors that got him kicked out of the FBI. No physical cause has been found and the frequency and severity of the tremors get worse when he is under stress. He has a new partner in his efforts to track down the elusive serial killer.
As superb as The Dead Man is, the narration is even better. Kevin Foley gives each character, male and female, his/her own voice is many rapid fire verbal exchanges.
I like this novel and look forward to reading the third book in the series next.
    Why the shakes and tremors?
    More so, who cares?????
Do you really want to read a detective novel about an ex FBI agent who can't control his (shaking) body?
    Phooey!

    Another exciting Hillerman book!
Hillerman did write other novels then just the Leaphorn and Chee series. It was exciting as expected. The technology was dated i.e. No cellphones and printed newspapers but still makes for a great read/listen!
    Intriguing and well read.
Hillerman was a master at building suspense without resorting to the current common practice of using unnecessary graphic detail. This story deals with political intrigue, mysterious accidents, misappropriation of funds, and shadowy figures seeking to silence reporter John Cotton. Erik Bergman's excellent reading keeps the listener engaged in every scene. Very enjoyable!
    Boring to the Max
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
    A total re-write
What could Tony Hillerman have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
A lot more excitement, suspense, a lot less filler.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
    Chosen a different book.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
    Total disappointment.
    Any additional comments?
Hate I wasted my money on this one. Can't believe this crap get published.
Well written in a me before cell phones
Well written. What a different world today. Younger readers won't even know of the UPI AP competition, a time before cell phones, and when cities had two (or more) daily newspapers, and a morning paper and an evening paper (like the Philadelphia Daily Inquirer in the morning, and the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin in the afternoon.
A suspenseful political mystery thriller well written by Tony Hillerman.
    Poorly plotted
Poorly plotted, even accounting for it being written in 1970. Too many missed arguments and opportunities. Too many not believable actions.

    Members Reviews:
    Ouch!
This book must have been written in all caps with a dozen exclamation marks after each sentence. Why else would the narrator read (scream) it that way? I doubt that Marines in boot camp are yelled at that much.
The back story was interesting but the main story, about a crazed serial killer, was "eh"
    The narrator ruined the audiobook!
Something Wicked does not include a lot of mystery or suspense, but it is a worthwhile listen EXCEPT Susan Ericksen narrates the book as if excited. I am normally an Ericksen fan, but she was horrid reading this book.
    Loved it!
Loved it! This was a great listen. I really loved the series and this book was a great addition to it. I wish I had re-listened to the first two books in the series as it's been years since I listened to them but you can read this without having the prior knowledge of the first two books but it's a great series and even though they bring you up-to-date I always love having all the details.
Each book has it's own great story-line they all have something to do with Siren Song or the group of women who live at Siren Song. Siren Song is a Colony of sorts. It's a family owned lodge/house filled with half sisters and ran by their aunt. Living with little to no contact to the outside world and each having some kind of supernatural power.
I LOVED it. It had me interested from start to finish. Great plot, great character building, great characters and very well written.
The narration was excellent and very fitting for the story. Susan Ericksen did a great job on this book and the whole series.
Fantastic book! I didn't want to stop listening!
Would you listen to Something Wicked again? Why?
I generally don't read or listen to a book a 2nd time but with this one I may have to...

    GREAT BOOK , GREAT NARRATION!!
I CAN ALMOST GUARANTEE I AM GOING TO ENJOY A BOOK NARRATED BY RON McLARTY AND ORLAGH CASSIDY AND THIS ONE WAS NO DIFFERENT. THE DAVID BALDACCI BOOKS JUST FEEL A CUT ABOUT THE OTHER AUDIO BOOKS. THE CHARACTER OF WILL ROBEY IS MEMORABLE AND I HOPE BALDACCI WILL CONTINUE WITH THIS CHARACTER.
    Good read
Loved it...the narrator really brought it to life...Will is a cool character. Baldacci does tell a good story
    Loved it
This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. The characters are human and you find yourself gunning for them. No unexpected twists or turns but still a really good read. Well worth the credit.
I have read all David Baldaccis books and this is up there as a favourite.
Probably a good book, but spoilt by narrator
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
This is the second book in the 'Will Robie' series. I gave up on the first book after just 30 mins. I flicked thru a couple of minutes of this book. The same boring scary monotones of 'Ron McLarty'.Other book reviewers suggest that this is a great read from David Buldacci. It is the narrator that brings a book to life, and 'value adds' to the experience. Ron McLarty does NOT have this skill.P.S. I absolutely hate "Sound Effects". Save that stuff for the movies and the big screen.
What was most disappointing about David Baldaccis story?

A plot that follows a theme for Baldacci
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If you like crime thrillers then David Baldacci doesn't disappoint. His books all vary around a theme, Robie and Reel are a variation on a theme to King and Maxwell.

If you could sum up The Affair of the Mutilated Mink in three words, what would they be?
Classic British mystery, the manor house, country setting, the complete package.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Lady Geraldine, although a period character she still felt fresh, plausible as a person.

    Language: English
    Release date: 12-18-12
    Publisher: Audible Studios
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 19 votes
    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
Who else but Joseph Wambaugh could write "a joy, a hoot, a riot of a book" that is also acclaimed as "one of this season's best crime novels"? That's how The New York Times Book Review and Time, respectively, described his last novel, Finnegan's Week. Nobody writes a faster, funnier, more satisfying tale of cops and criminals, the high life and lowlifes that Wambaugh - and Floaters is his sharpest yet.
Mick Fortney and his partner Leeds manage to cruise above the standard police stress - pools of coffee and Pepto-Bismol - they're water cops in the "Club Harbor Unit", manning a patrol boat on San Diego's Mission Bay. A typically rough day's detail consists of scoping out body-sculpted beauties on pleasure craft, rescuing boating bozos who've run aground, jeering at lifeguards, and hauling in the occasional floater who comes to the surface.
But now their days are anything but typical, because the America's Cup international sailing regattas have come to town and suddenly San Diego is swarming with yacht crazies of every nationality, the cuppies who want to love them, and the looky-look tourists, racing spies, scam artists, and hookers who all want their piece of the action. It's the outstanding body and jaunty smile - full of mischief, full of hell - of one cuppie, a particularly fiery redhead named Blaze, that gets Leeds and Fortney's attention. First Leeds drowns in frustratingly unrequited boozy love from afar. Then, with her increasingly odd behavior, Blaze tweaks every one of their cop instincts, alerting them that something's not quite right on the waterfront.
Indeed, Blaze will soon lead Detective Anne Zorn and Mick Fortney along a bizarre criminal trail that would be hilarious if it didn't wind up just as nasty as it gets, with a pair of murders right on the eve of the biggest sailing race of all.
Filled with all of Joseph Wambaugh's trademark skills - laugh-out-loud writing, crackling dialogue, outrageous excitement, and of course, plenty of raunchy veteran cops who leap off the page - Floaters is Wambaugh at the very top of his form.

    Fatal Deception Sizzles!!
For me, Fatal books are one's to savor. Even if I get an ARC, I still wait because once I finish it, that's it for a while, I'm done. So I like to take my time, read slow and really ENJOY the time I get to spend with Sam, Nick and the whole Fatal crew. Yes, it did only take me a day to read this last installment, but every hour was soooooo worth the wait.
Fatal Deception sucks you into the plot from the first chapter and has you on a roller coaster ride of suspense until the very end. I had so much fun reading this book, I wished I could be Sam for the day...Sometimes her job can be SO MUCH FUN!!
The emotions were running high, the sexual chemistry between Nick and Sam was OFF THE CHARTS HOT, and we have some great new characters ready to stir up some action. I will say that I did kind of fall a little in love with FBI Agent Avery Hill, I really enjoyed being able to get into his head and I do hope that Marie finds him a soul mate...he really is the "heart stealer" of the book.
There are so many things that I want to say, but I hate giving ANYTHING away, especially to my tasty readers who are HUGE Fatal Fans. All I will say is that you won't be able to get enough, especially when Nick takes charge...oh baby...just you wait!! And the end, if the "letter" doesn't have you tearing up, then a certain conversation will have you reaching for a tissue.
Marie, I love this series, and I guess we can thank Baby Sofia for being stubborn and not wanting to come out, that I was able to read and review Fatal Deception. I am so excited for what you have in store for us next, and I will be a Fatal Fan For Life!!
Another hit for the "Fatal" series!!
What would have made Fatal Deception better?
This is the 5th book inthe "Fatal" series by Marie Force. The first book takes you by storm and the storm hasn't stopped yet. I suppose any could be read alone, but if read in order if you can. I hated to have the story stop---I'll need to wait months for another installment!I read dozens of books each month---few have gripped me so quickly and entertained me so well as the "Fatal" books. This one doesn't disappoint!
    Southern, not stupid
Hated, hated, hated the southern accent. OMG! Horrible! And please let Nick do something worse than hang up his clothes. He is too good to be true even for a romance novel. I am starting to hate him! I have read and listened to all these books, and I need a more flawed hero! I actually like Sam, but I can't see her with Nick. They are turtle doves!UGH!
    Great characters
Another good book in this series. A young mother is murdered and her child abducted.
