    WORST NARRATOR EVER!!!!
Where does Tears of a Hustler: Tears of a Hustler Series, Book 2 rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
The book is GREAT, however the narrator is HORRIBLE
Who was your favorite character and why?
Ali was such a great guy. Under different circumstances he would have been a real BOSS
How could the performance have been better?
The narration was terrible. The only thing that would have made this book better is if someone else had narrated the book. I will check to make sure I never get another book with this guy narrating
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No, simply because of the narration

    X-RATED.
This had the potential to be a gteat book except for the very graphic sexual details. The disclosure stated for over 18 audiences, however, I am an adult and would have preferred not to listen to such in-depth details of sexual act, it does not matter that they were married. I thought I was purchasing a clean Christian audio book. Could I please get my credit back.. That was a waste.
    Mmm.. well..
The story line was sort of ok. A little bit on the elementary side. I do like the fact that the sex scenes were performed after they were married. The narrator did not do a good job. The tone to some of the words should of been different.
    Everlasting Love
This story makes you believe is a love the way God intended. True love conquers past wounds.
Just wish the story was read with more feeling. THAT would have made the story come more alive!
    Beautiful Love Story
I give this story a 5 star rating, because the author did a wonderful job.
    Narrator horrible
Narrator reading entirely too fast. She used the same voice tone for each character with no excitement.. It makes the book boroing.

    Good book
    There may be some SPOILERS!!!!!!
This book was actually good just like the first one. But I like the first book better with Bryon and Cynthia. This one was also good.
And at the end when Doug ask her to marry her. I knew that's what he was going to do and I'm like that's it lol? I was confused because I thought it'll be more to it.
But in the end I enjoyed the book.
I always enjoy Zuri Day books.
    Another great read...
Hands down, Shari brings the story to life and Zuri writes some bangers!! I'll definitely be buying more of her books.

    Publisher's Summary:
Felicia Lyons, a stressed-out stay-at-home mom, struggles to sprint ahead of the demands of motherhood while her husband spends long days at the office. Felicia taps, utters mantras, and breathes her way through most situations, but on some days, like when the children won't stop screaming her name or arguing over toy trucks and pretzel sticks, she wonders what it would be like to get in her car and drive away.
Then one evening the telephone rings, and in a split second the harried mother's innocent fantasy becomes a hellish reality. The call pulls her back into a life she'd rather forget. Felicia hasn't been completely honest about her upbringing, and her deception forces her return to the Philadelphia of her childhood, where she must confront the family demons and long-buried secrets she thought she had left behind.

Angela is a renowned assassin known only by the name The Teflon Queen. Her lethal grace, steady shot, and unmatched accuracy have made her the absolute best and most sought-after killer in the game. But when the killer without a conscience is faced with an unknown emotion - love - her whole perception is thrown off course. And in a profession where second-guessing can mean life or death, will the queen reign supreme or be overthrown?
    Members Reviews:
it does not bore and it is entertaining
This book is supposed to be about Angela, also known as the Teflon Queen, an efficient mercenary who unexpectedly falls in love with an FBI agent. And I say supposed because what this book mostly tells about is several unconnected stories about a band of Afro American drug dealers and gangsters and the people around them.
There is a lot of explicit violence and sex in the book, a lot more than the average violent book. I do not mind it, but beware those who do not like listening to very violent and erotic scenes. This story is not for sensitive minds.
The book is very poorly written and with many grammar errors, and beside the dialogues, the narration also uses slang and a constant repetition of words and expressions. I did not count how many times the word smirk or the expression pull off appear in the book, it was just too often. I would have accepted slang in the narration if this was done in first person by one of the characters (like A Clockwork Orange, for instance), but it is not the case.
The story was quite superficial, and the characters were not fully developed and made some strange decisions, like when the FBI agent meets Angela at a night club and almost starts the conversation saying that he is a Federal Agent. Who would think this is realistic? On the other hand, they become smitten with each other quite fast, and he never asks Angela what she does for a living. Again, unbelievable. She drives a Lamborghini and buys furniture for his home one day just our of the blue. And he is fine with that without asking too many questions. In what parallel universe does this happen?
On the other hand, there is always something going on in the book, so it does not bore and it is entertaining enough, but I just hoped to get more out of it, and to have at least well built characters.
One thing to keep in mind is that the story does not end with the book, and it does not close any of the side stories either, so you will need to listen to the second book to see what happens next.
Auddie Phillips does a very good job though. Her voice and tone were perfect for this story, and she was able to impersonate every character in the book and make the narration alive. I am not sure if I could have finished this book if I had to read it myself.
I am sure every book as a specific target audience. If you are into urban fiction set in an Afro American environment with lots of action, this book is for you.

    just ok
This intro to the series was an okay listen. The usual mix of bad guys, victims, and violence. Nothing really stood out about it good or bad. I can't say if I will listen to or read book 2 just yet.

    interesting Honey Jones please
if the characters ages range from 17 to 20 ish the narrator's shouldn't sound so old some of them you can even hear them taking breath before they start the next sentence you need to go back to Honey Jones! How long before the next book hopefully not two years you'll lose readers
    LOVED IT!!!!!! DID IT AGAIN
I loved this book. Ms Diamond one of my favorite authors for street literature. The narrators did an excellent job bring the characters to life. They made the book all the more enjoyable. I waited a while on this book to come to audible simply because I knew the narration version would be great. I'm really hoping a sequel to this series after all.
    awesome series!
loved the series and the narrators are the best for each character.. loveeeeeeed it ALOT
    Can't wait
This was really good. At first I was confused because it took so long for this part to come on audio, but after a few minutes everything was great. I can't wait for next one. Always ends with a cliff hanger. Narrators were great!
    Another Must Listen!
This was book 5 in the Divas series and it didn't disappoint. All the loose ends were tied up and per the author's M.O., new cliffhanger exists. The narrators are so excellent as it felt like I was there in the middle of all the action. Iam now ready for the final installment, Gangsta Divas.

    Genres: Fiction, African-American
    Publisher's Summary:
An African American girl comes of age during the Civil Rights Movement in April Sinclair's hilarious, insightful novel that was named Book of the Year (Young Adult Fiction) for 1994 by the American Library Association.
Jean "Stevie" Stevenson lives in Chicago's South Side, a neighborhood that acutely feels the social changes of the 1960s. Curious and witty, bold but naïve, Stevie ponders questions such as what makes good hair and which skin shade is better in light of "black is beautiful". Amid the War on Poverty; the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.; race riots; and the Black Power movement, Stevie grows into a socially aware young adult with a burgeoning sexuality and pride in her identity. Learning as much from her mother's strictness, her father's steady encouragement, and her grandmother's strength as she does from her wild friend, Carla, and her white teacher, Nurse Horne, Stevie makes the sometimes harrowing, often hilarious, always enthralling journey into adulthood.
Coffee Will Make You Black received the Carl Sandburg Award from the Friends of the Chicago Public Library.

    Interesting Story - Excellent Narration
I enjoyed the journey of growing up with Stevie. She and the other characters were portrayed well by the narrator. Just a chapter or two into the story, I had sent several text messages to friends suggesting they listen, too.
FUNNY Loved the portral of Black community
main character grows at a logical rate. Characters are all developed just enough. Listened to entire book in one day
I found my new favorite book!
This story of a young lady coming of age during the civil rights era is the best I've ever read. I wish I'd read this when I started puberty. It's realistic and accurate. My weird feelings and questions would have been answered. This is a definite must read.

What did you love best about Games Women Play?
It held my interest from beginning to end. The Narrator was easy to listen to, he's AWESOME.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    Yes
    Any additional comments?
Please listen to this book, you will NOT be disappointed.
    I wasn't Ready!!! But I loved it!!!
All the hype was right. This had me on the edge of my seat, moaning and groaning and laughing at times.
    Worth every penny!!!
The book was good from beginning to end!!!! Even my boyfriend stop watching tv to listen to it!!! Absolutely one of the best books to start my new year off!!!!! Great buy!!!! P.s. I even got emotional at times!!!
OMG - EXCELLENT Book - Well Worth My Credit!!!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! It was a well developed story line with a whole lot of twists and "oh really" "I can't believe it" "say what" "stop it" moments. Just when you THOUGHT you were at the end of whatever was going on, some other ish pops up and jumps off.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the part with Tuesday and her relationship with Marcus.
What does Dylan Ford bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
He's one of the best narrators; simply love his voice. He can make a story stand to attention with his ability to use different voices and you actually think it's a different person reading. He has become one of my favorite narrators in which I find my next book just because he's doing the narration although I haven't been able to find that many books that he's narrated.
Dylan has a sexy voice; it's believable; he makes me want to SCREAM!!!!! LOL I love having him talking in my ear!!!!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Not really - they were all interesting!!!
    Any additional comments?
When I first happened on this book and read the title, I thought oh no, not another one of those crazy books with a bunch of silly broads playing frivolous games! I was just not looking to read a book like that and it took me a minute to decide if I wanted to invest 11+ hours listening to it. In fact, I had already returned several other books because they were moving a bit too slow. But, it took me to about the second chapter to really dive in to this one and see that it had potential. By the third chapter, I was literally hooked.

    Lifetime Network
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, I wouldn't recommend this book. It's not what I expected or enjoyed. The book was lacking all the ingredients of a book about the drug game. Things like action, excitement, violence, sex or even the intensity involved with the pressures of being apart of that type of activity. It reminded me of a lifetime network type show. So, I guess if that's your cup of tea this book is for you.
Was Carl Weber's Kingpins worth the listening time?
    NO...
    Not Satisfied
This book was not what I expect when Carl Weber is involved. I've listened to both the first and second book and just not explosive as his other books.
    Dont read this one!!!
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
    A PLOT!!!
What do you think your next listen will be?
    Not sure
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator was good it would have been better if the story was good.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Carl Weber's Kingpins?
    THE WHOLE BOOK
    Any additional comments?
Don't waste a credit on this book.
    Loved It
This was a good read, I really enjoyed it kind of mad about the ending but overall very good
    Daddy's Little Girl
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes . The story was so emotional yet so action packed. It tells the story, as Daddy's like girl grows up in the dirty world of drugs she sees daddy doesn't lie.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Carl Weber's Kingpins?
1)How descriptive it was in the being when she is being taught by daddy at an early age the does and donts, the how to's and most of all. The start strong part before they seperate.
What does Soozi Cheyenne bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
She gives such defined tone when she narrates the actions in the beginning that makes you feel as if you were there receiving daddy's love
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, from the beginning til the time she leave New York.
    Any additional comments?
A MUST listen to. I read it then listened to it.

A Classic Western in the Style of Zane Grey
I don't mean to take anything away from Dearen's masterful story-telling abilities by comparing him too much to Zane Grey, but those that appreciate classic westerns will see the comparison as a compliment. The Big Drift reminds me of Grey's 1912 western epic, Riders of the Purple Sage. Dearen's writing style is similar to Grey's in the way his flowing descriptions of the hardscrabble landscape take on a personality of its own, almost to the extent of becoming a character in its own right. And also like Grey, Dearen delves into the innermost thoughts that haunt the two main protagonists, Will Brite and Zeke Boles, giving us glimpses into the past that shadows each man. Will and Zeke form an unlikely partnership as they confront head-on everything nature - and man - has to offer, from blizzards and sand storms, to lawless gunslingers and post-civil war prejudices. We are taken on a soul searching journey as we discover how each man comes to grips with his past and how each man's struggle is really one of self-inflicted guilt. A few times the story lagged a bit as we were reminded yet again of the men's tortured histories, and it became a little too preachy in places, but overall, The Big Drift is a very satisfying read that ends with this reader asking the question: "And then what happened?"

Not since Elmer Kelton have I enjoyed a western author as much as I enjoyed Patrick Dearen's storytelling in his recent novel, The Big Drift. For a native West Texan, reading it was like enjoying a double scoop of ice cream with a cherry on top. Not only are Dearen's characters gritty and believable, they are also forged, it seems, from real cowboys. I highly recommend this book. It's a delight for historical fiction and western fans alike.
The Big Drift: an excellent read!
The Big Drift depicted a long-gone era of ranching history in Southwest Texas. Because my family lives near the affected areas mentioned in the book, it was of great interest. I believe that Patrick Dearen's work is well researched and written and would be much appreciated by people with ties to the area or to those who want to learn the history of ranching and how it developed and changed. The interesting characters in the novel came alive on the page.
