    Confused!
I am so confused. I think I like the beginning...but there is no smex. I like my smex in m/m romances. Even if there wasn't any smexing, the story was just so strange. The two main character switched I think, with themselves... Like one became the other... See... I am confused. I just can't recommend... Because I am still confused...

    Members Reviews:
    I really enjoyed this book.
What did you love best about The Stolen Luck?
The story was well thought out and the characters had a believability to them that sustained the story. There was a strength and sweetness to Loren that i really liked.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I think Loren and Devil were my favourites. Loren because he had been hurt and abused but had maintained a sense of self throughout his trauma. And Devil because he was a horse and i like horses :)
What about Charles Carrs performance did you like?
I didn't mind it however the voice he used for James was not the voice i heard in my head. But that is just personal preference.
If you could rename The Stolen Luck, what would you call it?
The Captured Vine. A Long Ass Journey to the Land of the Fae!
Misunderstandings, Meandering, Magic and Murder! Beware the horse with the wild eye!
    Watch Out, that Iron's Hot!
    Any additional comments?
    nope -_-
    Felt more like "Stolen Credits"
What disappointed you about The Stolen Luck?
This is Victorian romance novel in disguise (minus the romance). James goes on and on about his conflicted emotions and guilt for lusting after the slave elf...
Logan's character is so effeminate I had to constantly remind myself the character was male.
What was most disappointing about Shawna Repperts story?
The basic premise of this story is challenging. It's difficult to build a romance/fantasy story around slave prostitution.
What about Charles Carrs performance did you like?
Great job with a crap story.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Stolen Luck?
The last 10 minutes. Seriously.... I was hoping for a little hot m/m elf sex at the end to save this mess. The dialog was neither romantic or erotic.
    Shocker... but not super great
This was shocker. It was better than expected; however, it wasn't a super great book. It was better than ok, but less that great, if that makes sense. Just in between. There was literally on one smex scene, which totally irritated me... There should have been way way more, and this would have been great.
A sale book or credit. Not really a buy
    Wonderful Surprise!!
If you could sum up The Stolen Luck in three words, what would they be?
M/M romance fantasy adventure. (MM is not a word!). This is a story of a very good man who is "forced" to buy an elf slave in order to save his family.

Much better than others in the series
For some reason, I enjoyed this book quite a bit more than I have with others in the series. The story is better, Jeff Gelder's dictation is better, and the flow of the story is easier to follow. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has read (or listened to) anything by Andrew Grey. You definitely won't be disappointed.
    Nothing Special
This is a typical Andrew Grey story. It is not bad and not good, just blah. No surprises and a sweet romance.
    Predictable, but sweet.
Although I liked the story, it was quite predictable. But I suppose that's what you expect out of novels like this. The narration seemed quite uneven, however. Made it hard to enjoy the novel.

    Awesome!
Philip and Haven are my favorite of the Range Seires!!!!! Another Hit for Andrew Grey! And Jeff is my favorite narrator of the seires
    Not GREAT but Very Good
This is not on the top of my list but it is a very good book. The narrator for some reason mispronounced a few words and on several occasions paused, put the wrong emphasis on certain words and just made some general mistakes. But the story is good, the narration, aside from the errors, was decent, and as with many other Andrew Grey novels, it was well worth my time.

    Members Reviews:
    Sweet little romance mystery...
I really enjoyed this book, particularly in audio format. I have actually enjoyed all of the Men of Smithfield stories. L. B Gregg provides a little mystery and a love conquers all mojo that appeals to my extremely unrealistic romantic side. With this story the two principle characters are Holden--a 40-year-old former adventurer, now agoraphobic and Adam--a 24-year-old young man who has to endure and overcome some earlier trauma. Within the midst of the romance is a mystery that left me guessing towards the end of the story. All in all, a good journey. Now as far as the narrator, Shannon Gunn has done all four books and I admire his vocal ability for differentiating our protagonists, but the voice for Holden really just tickled me to the point of no return. I am sure that some will not get my reference, but as I listened to Holden's story I kept envisioning Paul Lynn. Some of the inflictions provided by Gunn were spot on to the late and great Lynn. Then of course, when Holden spouted off on several occasions of being 'the man', my mental image and the vocal inflictions had me rolling. I am not sure if that was the intent of Gregg, but it certainly added so much more to the character of Holden and actually served as a measure that endeared me to Holden. I actually had to have my bff listen to the book to see if I was crazy and she came up with the same conclusion that I did regarding the character of Holden. But I digress, I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would recommend and if you want to determine my Lynn reference, just remember Uncle Author from Bewitched or from reruns of Hollywood Squares and the center square.
Sweet story but narration somewhat annoying
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The interpretation of Holden as Paul Lynde. I can understand why the narrator went this way, because the book really has great snarky dialogue. But as much as I like Paul Lynde, it is NOT sexy to hear the romance part of the book with his voice. It is really annoying after a while.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
It wasn't really that interesting. The story and romance is really pretty lame. The best thing about the book is the comedy, it is really funny. I would suggest listening to it as a funny read with a little romance.
What three words best describe Shannon Gunns voice?
    Diversified.

    Publisher's Summary:
Six years ago, Jeff Beachum comforted a frightened teenager outside an HIV treatment clinic, and Collin Waters has remembered his kindness ever since. Now, after six years of crushing on the kind, brown-eyed sweetheart of his dreams, Collin is feeling adult and together enough to make his move. Too bad fate, which has never been kind to Jeff, has something else in mind.
Jeff's life had fallen completely apart before that long-ago day, and it isnt much better now. Jeff has toughened up, become self-reliant, been the funny guy his friends turn to, the one who gives advice and comfort when needed. But every phantom from Jeffs past is about to come out to haunt him, and the family Jeff has staked his future on isnt in such great shape either. Collin is more than a starry-eyed kid, and its a good thing, because Jeffs going to need all the help he can get. No one knows better than Jeff that life can be too short to turn your back on honest love, and that living happily is the best promise of all.
    Members Reviews:
The Journey of Promise Rock Continues...
When I was introduced to Jeff Beachum in the first Promise Rock book, I was a bit put off by the character. If I were honest, it would be because of my own bias and refusal to relate to such a character. So image my surprise when I began this book to realize that the main character was Jeff and this kid named Collin. My immediate response was that I was not going to like this book. But because I have enjoyed everything else that I have read of Amy Lane's I figured that I would give it a shot. Mary's ability to tell a tale entrapped me in such a way that I was forced to recognize my own internalized bias and deal. Jeff's character was written in such a way that sometimes when he was confronting stupidity, I felt like he was talking to me. Personally, when an author can make the reader revaluate their own perspective, that is the sign of a great author. But enough on Amy. The book, though not as good as the first book, still managed to elicit an emotional response that involved laughter, tears, and compassion for the characters. A cathartic experience and I certainly recommend all three books in the series.
Once again, I loved Paul Morey's narration!
    Any additional comments?
This is a story about life with all it's twists and turns, the mistakes we make along the way that we (sometimes) pay for the rest of our lives, redemption that comes from the most unexpected places, and the love we surround ourselves with and choose to let in to our lives.
I love that the story revolves around Jeff and getting to see the man behind the "fairy-Jeff-father" always-happy-cracking-jokes guy. To see his vulnerabilities and shortcomings and, ultimately, his willingness to allow love into his life. I loved getting to see his past, his troubles, and his triumphs. Ever since Keeping Promise Rock, when I first met Jeff he's had a little piece of my heart. The oh-so-tough-but-vulnerable man who's built a fortress around his heart and is the happy, funny one who doesn't let the world see his tears broke my heart a little.
I've been waiting for his story and I am not disappointed.
Jeff has been celibate and lonely since his lover, Kevin, was killed in action while on tour in the Marines.

    Something worth listening to!
I've been having a very hard time recently getting through an entire audiobook. Still, I've been devouring e-books from my favorite authors. This leads me to believe that my dissatisfaction is down to the narrators (and yes, a lot is also down to the books and the authors). I bought this book on merit of Jack Lefleur alone. I've never heard of the author, Fae Sutherland (which is likely my own folly and nothing to do with her talent) but I've been wasting so many credits buying books and losing interest that I got desperate. I knew Jack Lefleur as the narrator would not let me down (the synopsis of the book sounded like something he would excel at reading).
Somebody needs to figure out how to bottle this man's voice. It's one of the sexiest things I've ever heard and the more he reads is the more you lose yourself in the words he's weaving around you. Every book he reads is a performance. Each character is given their own distinct voice. Each action pulls you in. It's not hard to imagine that you're sitting in that cockpit with Rain or stalking around the ship with Torin. Once he starts going, you really just have to drop everything, close your eyes, and let his words infuse you.
This book is sexy. There is no other word for it. If I've listened to it slowly it's because I've been savoring it. This is why we listen to gay romance as audiobooks. A sizzlingly hot story with a great plot. Throw in some off-planet action, hidden pasts, and running from the law and you're left with a story that has great characters and lovely world building. I wouldn't say it's the best story I've 'read' but it's definitely better than so many others. Rain and Torin burn the pages the second they are in a room together. Hot, sexy tension and scorching hot sex. And it helps that the plot is solid and believable.
If you have a lazy weekend or could do with a lie-in, download this book and listen. Definitely worth the credit!
    Very Enjoyable
Nice storyplenty of sexand I swear I hear Jack Leflure (the narrator) with his husky, beautiful voice in my nighttime fantasies...if he's reading, I'm buying!
    For Geeks
This was gay, sexy, Firefly with a twist. I think my geek switch got crossed with my steamy dreams.
    Excellent!
What made the experience of listening to Sky Riders the most enjoyable?
Although the love scenes were good, it was the plot and the movement through it that impressed me.

CHILLING VIEW OF A POSSIBLE FUTURE!!!
Where does 18% Gray rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
    In the top 100.
What other book might you compare 18% Gray to and why?
Very much like J.D. Robb's "In Death" Series because both are set in a very believable future.
What does Paul Morey bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Any good narrater brings a story to life with an ability to make each character different from another. Paul Morey did very well in this endeavor.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Red and Blue; Gay and Straight. Who would have thought it would come to this?
Great blend of romance, sci-fi and action
This was a great blend of romanance sci-fi and action.
The storyline was good and although I was initially cautious of the narrator, he did a good job.
    So I was not disappointed
If you are looking for lots of hot sex scenes you may not be satisfied.
Overall it was a great listen
    Good story and amazing narrator
I really liked the story - it was both Funny, sweet and filled with action and had a great story Line. A little confusing in the begining due to the futuristic setting - but it might be because english isnt my first language and i do not understand some of the references to American goverment and geography. Narrator is my absolute favourit in audiable - so enjoyed listening to him tell the story. A great narrator Can ad to the story and that what he does. It is kind of telling that almost Half of my top ten is narrated by pm.
A Gay Dystopian Love Story? YES!
I began listening to this book with skepticism and a bit of apprehension. Once I got into it, and understood exactly what was going on, I couldn't stop listening! an A+ story with an A+ narration. If you don't know if you will like this book or not, buy it. You too will love it.
    Interesting story
This book certainly speaks of "possible" and scary times ahead. The plot is good but Morey's narration is not as good as some other books. The consistent mistakes became rather annoying by the end.

    Better than expected.
If you could sum up Brook Street: Thief in three words, what would they be?
    Good historical bromance.
What other book might you compare Brook Street: Thief to and why?
While none come to mind, it's a historical romance that just happens to be between two men.
What does Charlie Belmont bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?
Believable accents and a good pace. Mr. Belmont's delivery of the story added to my enjoyment -- it just seemed to fit.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, the book was interesting enough to have me wishing I could sit and listen to it in one sitting. On the other hand, I'm glad I was not able to because then it would have been over that much faster and since I enjoyed it, I didn't mind it taking longer.
    Any additional comments?
I'm female and am an avid reader of historical romances. This is my first featuring men. I listened out of curiosity to see if it could even halfway deliver a story as enjoyable as the typical romances I read and I'm pleased to note that it did. The characters actions, for the most part, were believable. Because the novel is relatively short, the romance seemed a bit rushed but that did not detract from the enjoyment of this good book. The characters were likeable and the book delivered exactly what I like in an historical romance novel -- the meeting with sparks, the romantic pursuit, steamy interactions, and a good ending. I read romance novels because I'm interested in the pursuit and ultimate finding of true love. Whether you're straight or gay if you read romance novels for the same reason, I think you'll find this story an enjoyable one and well worth the time to read. And let's not forget the reader, he does a great job as well.
    Excellent!
The Brook Street Thief, first book of the series was an excellent choice since I usually don't do short stories. The story is well written and the narrator brought the characters to life. I really hate giving stories five stars because there is always something wrong in the story it self or with the narrative. Ava March and Charlie Belmont, both delivery five star quality.
I would recommend, The Brook Street Thief, to anyone who is looking for something different, not the same old same old, tired, dragged out format. The characters are charming and the storyline is fantastic. I loved it.

Would you be willing to try another book from Mary Calmes? Why or why not?
I've already read several of her books, so yes. As long as the narrator isn't Andrew Schwartz.
    Which scene was your favorite?
When Malic was ensnared within the Demon's trap.
Who was the most memorable character of Cherish Your Name and why?
Ryan. Simply because he's my favorite warder and wasn't even featured a lot in his own book.
    Any additional comments?
The metadata for this audiobook is incorrect. It says it was narrated by Andrew Schwartz, it wasn't. This was narrated by Paul Morey who is a million times better. If you hated the narrator in the first 4 books, don't worry... This was not done by Schwartz.
    I love this series!!
This was a wonderful addition to a wonderful series. I loved that they showed more of this couple as well the first book of them seemed a bit rushed but this one fixed it and fleshed them out a bit.
    The Warder series
I have the set in audiobook format. I must admit to listening to them often. They are a fast read with great story development. Action and romance. My favorite is Cherish The Name. To get the most out of it read Tooth And Nail for character development. 5 books in all. I hope Mary Calmes adds to the series in the future. Especially with Malic and Dylan.
    Forgettable
Not a memorable romance involving 'warders' who keep the world free from demons. Not recommended.
Best Narrator in this Series- Love Mal and Dylan!
Malic and Dylan are a couple but they still have a long way to go. Malic still worries that hes too old for Dylan. Dylan worries hes too young.
When they go home to Dylans family for Christmas, Dylans family isnt exactly welcoming and Dylan ends up hanging out with his buddies more than Malic.
Mal, on the other hand, ends up hanging out with the neighbor a seemingly nice guy with a broken leg in need of a helping hand.
But hes actually trying to lure Malic in for a demons purpose and its up to Malics love of Dylan to save him from the pit.
We get to see the whole gang again and get a really super sweet HEA.
    Audio
Paul Morey does this narration and I loved it! I love his voice for Dylan and Mal and for the other warders.
I highly recommend this series and this narration.
