Publisher's Summary:
"Nobody knows me as Manolito Garca Moreno, not even Big Ears Lopez, and he's my best friend; even though sometimes he can be a dog and a traitor (and other times, a dog traitor), he's still my best friend and he's a whole lotta cool. In Carabanchel - that's the name of my neighborhood in Madrid, in case I haven't told you - everyone knows me as Manolito Four-Eyes."
"Don't try to be different," says Manolito's mother. But he can't help it - he doesn't have to try. Whether he's fighting over the One-and-Only Susana; trying not to fight with Ozzy the Bully; telling his entire life story to the school psychologist; or discovering the true meaning of World Peace-ten-year-old Manolito is a real original. As he'd say, in the worldwide world, there's nobody like him! And for the first time, this best-selling phenomenon from Spain is available in English.

Great book
i obtained this for my 7-year old grandson...who wears glasses. He loves it!
we love manolito!
Manolito four eyes is a fabulous family read. He is, as he says, "a whole lotta cool." Narrated in first peson with an authentic voice, Manolito charms and amuses throughout his story telling. My kids (9 & 11) crack up reading the Manolito books.
Life From A Ten Year Old Prism
Manolito is a ten year old, and he sees life through his ten year Spanish prism. He is funny and delightful, and he engages the reader from the start. When I finished reading, I realized my grandson would like a book of his own, so I purchased one for him.
My 8 year old grandson is a prolific reader, he reads everywhere he can, and it is sometimes difficult keeping up with reading material for him. The library knows him well, and I provide him with books all the time. I read this book , and thought this is just perfect for him. My grandson has a new pair of glasses, his first. He was very anxious about wearing them to school, but he did wear them. He can see better, and it is easier for him to read. Right from the start he identified with Manolito. Even though they are a few cultures apart, there are very many similarities. Manolito and his friends are real characters, the kind of friends you would want. His adventures, mild as they, are funny. The bathroom and fat humor are right where ten year old boys are. It is good to point out as I did that this kind of humor may be OK at home, but you never want to hurt someone's feelings, or make anyone feel bad.
I have not read the first encyclopedia if Manolito's life, so I will do that and my grandson and I can talk about both books. It brings us closer to have fun characters as Manolito in our lives.
