Skinny- Bones and Almost Starring Skinny-Bones.

These books are wonderful. I am tutoring a sixth grader who is not motivated to read. I was desperate for a really good book to hook him. I remembered Barbara Park's books for younger kids and hoped that she had written something for older kids. She did!! These books are so funny and so appropriate for preteens. The main character Alex, has all of the thoughts and insecurities of a real boy, and he gets himself into these amusing situations. My student and I take turns reading passages from the book. We both sit there laughing at his attempts to disentangle himself from the messes he creates. The language in the book is realistic. The kids are real. I was saved. And although my [...] has not become a perfect student, he loves the books and I have a wonderful tool for instruction.

Entertaining book!

This was a book chosen by son's second grade class as a book to read for homework. I purchased the e-book because my son would always leave his hardcopy at school. We both found the book entertaining and enjoyable to read.

My name is Connor, I'm 9 years old, and I loved this book. The book, "Timmy Failure, Sanitized for your Protection," is action-packed, and (in my opinion) is better than the other three in the series. I recommend this book to people who like "Diary of a Wimpy kid," and "Big Nate."

Timmy's Not a Failure here!!

My boys (4th and 5th grades) love these Timmy Failure books. I personally thought they would have outgrown them by now, but they always ask for the new ones when they come out. I am thrilled to buy any book my reluctant readers actually ask me for. Thank you Stephan Pastis!!

great book!

As an adult, even I find this book entertaining. Great sarcasm, humor, foreshadowing in it. It is like diary of a wimpy kid; however, the vocabulary and content is more sophisticated. A kid would love it and learn a bit by reading too...

He has good reading skills

My 11 year old son loves this series almost as much as the diary of a wimpy kid series. I haven't read them myself, but they keep him engaged...he usually reads them in one sitting. He has good reading skills....college level for skill alone and grade 8 or 9 for comprehension, but he doesn't get bored with these.

The best in the series!

What happens when Timmy and Molly go on the run in Chicago. It is hilarious. Molly and Timmy encountered action, romance, and windsurfing senior citizens throughout the book. I would recommend it to any 10 year old!

Fun adventure story with lovely illustrations

Stout Sam and his deckhand Pip have a nice life providing transport for the residents of their tropical island. When a pig washes ashore in a barrel, the two are happy to adopt her as a pet. But it turns out Julie has a talent for sniffing out gold. It's only a matter of time before Barracuda Bill, a mean and greedy pirate, catches wind of this and tries to steal Julie for himself.

This is a cute story with colorful illustrations, lively characters, and enough suspense to keep kids reading without scaring them too much. The ending is especially fun, and the hardcover binding feels nice and sturdy. While the font is fairly small and some of the words are a bit complex for newer readers, it would make a good read-aloud.

A sweet, fun story!

My kids are too young to read these books on their own, but they are rapidly falling for these characters and so enjoy listening to Mommy share the story in small segments. Thrilled to have this advanced copy on hand as we continue to work on and foster reading skills! A sweet, fun story!

Excellent!!! Benoit is brilliant!! Couldn't stop laughing!

The narrator is genius. He creates very distinct characters for Nicolas and his mum and dad as well as for his friends. He reads with such energy and dynamism that you feel as though you are watching the entire story play out in your mind. Its absolutely hilarious and though I've listened to the stories so many times, I still find myself laughing out loud. I'm only sad that Benoit Poelvaarde hasn't done more!!!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Avis Blackthorn: Is Not an Evil Wizard! (The Wizard Magic School Series, Book 1)?

Here's the thing... I really thought this was just going to be an unoriginal rip-off of JK Rowling... but it wan't at all. Yes it's set in a school for Wizards - but I learned it's kind of like saying Dead Poet's Society and Goodbye Mr. Chips are the same because they are set in a boarding school. These characters are original and engaging and the story arc had me totally engaged. It's a great set up to a series that might just fill a magical void in my life since Potter finished.

Which character as performed by Joel Froomkin was your favorite?

I really liked Ernie the ghost - but Froomkin does a fabulous job voicing all of the characters. He's incredibly versatile and he truly performs the story, bringing all of the characters to life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was pretty caught up in the climax of the story - and I was delighted to learn that book two is on it's way!

If you're a Potter fan I really encourage you to give these characters a try. I'll bet you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much you enjoy.
