    Publisher's Summary:
As the Israelites camped before Mount Sinai, the Lord gave them His law, and the people gave a promise that they would obey it. But because God knew they would not be able to keep their promise, he instituted offerings and sacrifices to make atonement through the shedding of blood. The book of Leviticus, written by Moses, details the sacrificial system of the nation of Israel, including the shedding of the blood of an innocent animal, which showed the seriousness of sin.
In his comprehensive, verse-by-verse study of Leviticus, Skip Heitzig shows how central this book is to our understanding of the atoning sacrifice of Christ, and how the theme of this book is the pure worship of God.

    ?.
    Any additional comments?
This is why people think Christians are silly,a dog that talks come on!
Absolutely awesome book in every way!
You can tell our Lord had a hand in the creation of this book. When you here it you will know beyond any reasonable doubt that all animal's do in fact go to heaven. This a beautiful well written story of one man who questioned the Lord about his loving pet's passing if he is alive and well in heaven, and when he was about to give up asking he got an answer in a most spectacular way. There are many bible verses that tell you all you need to know about our Lords creation and where they all go after they die. The author goes through some of these verses with excellent explanations based on the awesome experience he had with a loving visit from Jesus and his best friend. This book will sure to please and answer the age old question once and for all, Do Animals go to Heaven? Yes! they do!

Changed the way I do Ministry!
Any youth minister who struggles with the strategy of youth ministry and details of sustainability this book is for you. Very practical and very inspiring! Cant wait to put it all into practice!
Great book, Very Poor Audio Quality
Where does Sustainable Youth Ministry rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
Very good! It called out patterns I have seen for years but couldn't put a finger on. A must read for senior pastors (and certainly for search committees and elders/board leaders).
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The audio quality was so poor. It sounds more like a podcast. There are times when the reader pulls away from the mic and you can almost hear that he is in a big empty room with just him and a microphone. The book is truly incredible; I was sad to see that the audio resources were so under funded.
Required reading if you work youth ministry.
If you're a youth director, volunteer, pastor, or senior pastor. READ THIS! It's ministry wisdom.
    loved it! super helpful!
I am a brand new youth pastor, and I was scared to death. After listening to this book, I feel so much more prepared to face with God has called me to. Great resource!
I now feel equipped to begin
I loved listening to this audio book because of the deep, hard-earned wisdom it contained. I loved the building metaphor with its focus on foundations, tasks, processes and long-term visioning. Halfway through listening, I bought a softcover version of the book so I can review its many helpful bullet points and lists. As I begin a new phase of youth ministry I will be referring to this text as a resource for many years to come.

Title: The God Who Is There
Subtitle: Finding Your Place in God's Story

    Narrator: Bob Souer
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 10 hrs and 1 min
    Language: English
    Release date: 01-15-13
    Publisher: Blackstone Audio, Inc.
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 49 votes
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
It can no longer be assumed that most people - or even most Christians - have a basic understanding of the Bible. Many dont know the difference between the Old and New Testament, and even the more well-known biblical figures are often misunderstood. It is getting harder to talk about Jesus accurately and compellingly because listeners have no proper context with which to understand Gods story of redemption. In this basic introduction to faith, D. A. Carson takes seekers, new Christians, and small groups through the big story of scripture. He helps listeners to know what they believe and why they believe it. The companion leaders guide helps evangelistic study groups, small groups, and Sunday school classes make the best use of this book in group settings.
    D. A. Carson is research professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is the author or editor of more than 40 books and is one of the leaders of the Gospel Coalition.
    Critic Reviews:
"We live in a time when people quickly reject or accept the Bible without even knowing its contents. Carson does a masterful job of explaining the scriptures so that a person who has never even opened the Bible can understand it. At the same time, those who grew up under its teaching will find valuable and obvious truths that will lead them to greater worship and appreciation of the God we serve." (Francis Chan, author of the number-one New York Times best seller Crazy Love)
"Challenging yet respectful, thought provoking yet accessible, faithful to the historic Christian faith yet relevant to our ever changing world." (Randy Newman, author of Questioning Evangelism and Corner Conversations)
"A unique and important volume in many ways. As a ministry tool, it can be used for evangelism, since it so thoroughly lays out the doctrine of God. And yet it also does what the catechisms of the Reformation churches did: give Christians a grounding in basic biblical beliefs and behavior. By all means, get this book!" (Tim Keller, pastor, Redeemer Presbyterian Church, New York City)
    Members Reviews:
I will listen to this one again
This book is insightful and thought provoking. It is a book worthy of my resources of time and money. It is very interesting and beneficial to listen to. Also it was excellently narrated. I'm very selective and discerning so this short review is saying a lot.
Great intro to the biblical storyline
D.A. Carson, as one might expect, does a wonderful job of both presenting the storyline of the Bible as a whole, but also doing so in a winsome and thoroughly understandable manner. This book is for both those who want a clear outline of the Bible, but also for those who are curious about what the Bible is all about.
    Law & Order
Simoly Amazing. D. A. Carson 's work is beyond describtion. A big thank you professor.
    The God Who IS There
I loved this book! Narrator is great! It gives an understanding to the knowledge of scripture in a simple way for a believer or a sceptic to conceptualize the God who IS there, in sovergn reign.
    Great comprehensive overview

    Title: Paul and Jesus
Subtitle: How the Apostle Transformed Christianity
    Author: James D. Tabor
    Narrator: Robertson Dean
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 9 hrs
    Language: English
    Release date: 11-26-12
    Publisher: Tantor Audio
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 108 votes
    Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Christianity
    Publisher's Summary:
Historians know virtually nothing about the two decades following the crucifixion of Jesus, when his followers regrouped and began to spread his message. During this time the man we know as the apostle Paul joined the movement and began to preach to the gentiles.
Using the oldest Christian documents that we have - the letters of Paul - as well as other early Christian sources, historian and scholar James Tabor reconstructs the origins of Christianity. Tabor reveals that the familiar figures of James, Peter, and Paul sometimes disagreed fiercely over everything from the meaning of Jesus' message to the question of whether converts must first become Jews. Tabor shows how Paul separated himself from Peter and James and introduced his own version of Christianity, which would continue to develop independently of the gospel message that Jesus, James, and Peter preached.
Paul and Jesus gives us a new and deeper understanding of Paul as it illuminates the fascinating period of history when Christianity was born out of Judaism and became the religion we recognize today.
    Critic Reviews:
"Highly recommended to all interested in the historic roots of Christianity, whether or not they are believers. After Tabor, you will never read the NT in quite the same way." (Library Journal Starred Review)

    Paul or Jesus?
If you could sum up Paul and Jesus in three words, what would they be?
    InformativeInsightfulEnlightening
    Any additional comments?
As an author myself, I understand the intense desire to get a very important idea across to my readers. I have seen many writers start with an idea that they think is provable but by the end of their work they have steered off of the track and forgotten the entire purpose of their work.
This is not the case with this monumental work that James has penned here. He masterfully executes his attempt to expose Paul and what he has done to the world.
When I wrote my book, Leaving Jesus, I wanted to spend more time on Paul and his twisting of the Old Testament. I felt that I had done a good job in revealing what Paul had done but James ups the ante and peels away the layers of the Apostle Paul to uncover the problems with Paul's writings and actual thought processes.
James expertly draws on his previous writing to paint a portrait of Paul that is clear and vivid. Starting with Paul's twisting of Scripture and concepts he then transverses through his social interactions with the disciples. James spends much time on the way that Paul thought about and behaved toward James, the brother of Jesus.I thought I had understood Paul but by the time I was finished with "Paul and Jesus", I felt like I had met him.
This is the book that I wanted to write myself but thanks to James D. Tabor I didn't have to do so. James has made it easy to understand Paul and along the way, Jesus, the misunderstood first century Jewish Rabbi who's teachings are buried deep inside the New Testament overpowered by Paul's lies and tricks.
Thanks James for treading where few chose to travel, for not getting lost along the way and for returning to us with truth that will free many others.

Max Lucado - A Gentle Thunder
Would you listen to A Gentle Thunder again? Why?
I intend to keep this audio so I can listen to it again and again.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I couldn't listen to the whole book in one sitting...I needed to pause every now and then to ponder and digest what Max had been discussing. Thought provoking, Scripture based and sound Biblical teaching.
    Any additional comments?
The narrator's voice I found soothing and easy to listen to. Any future books with this narrator (who is not the author, Max) I wouldn't hesitate to buy and listen to.
Loved it! narrator excellent & lots of scripture!
Well narrated, points well made with great examples & lots of scripture to back it up! Will enjoy listening to it again!
This book was just what I needed...
This book was just what I needed to reflect, be directed and grow spiritually. I myself am going through a point in my life where I'm truly understanding about judging people, this book nailed perfectly about judging others. I read the bible often, but just a few years ago I didn't read at all. I didn't know the message of God's words and how poetic, loving, forgiving empathetic and noble/holy the Lord really was. I never knew or saw the woven lives of people long ago, reflect my own today. How could God's words still have an impact today from thousands of years and still have a pulling of the heart strings til his day. This book was informational and informal, touching the heart of listener by combining scripture and actual life events to help the listener relate better. This book gives the listener an reality check, of seeing and knowing who God and Jesus Christ is in their own life. For we are the fruits of the vine and God is the Gradener. Great Book.... All Must Read!
    Another Masterpiece
Max Lucado has an extraordinary gift that once you start one of his books you dont want to rest until you finish it. And best of all, when he talks I hear God whispering in my ears. God bless you my friend.

    Great Resource to have
If you could sum up The Complete Bible Answer Book in three words, what would they be?
Helpfull, Well documented, Right to the point
Who was your favorite character and why?
    The Bible itself
Have you listened to any of Bob Souers other performances before? How does this one compare?
    No
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book/audiobook is a very complete summary of every valid Christian question/doubt there is and its approached with easy and understandable answers.
Since we Christians (Pentecostals, Baptists, Catholics, Presbyterians, Evangelicals, Non-denominational etc. etc.) have our own different points of views (Calvinism, Arminianism) regarding different topics of the bible such as salvation, hell and heaven and other sensitive topics which are usually the 1% on which we fundamentally differ but a 99% on which we all agree such as there's only one God, man can't save himself, there's something else after death, this audiobook covers them all.
The author covers them in a way that he gracefully explains the differences between the positions and explains why he believes one of them above the other, but in a personal, logical and non suggestive way that in no way you feel he is trying to dissuade you or make you believe what he believes, instead he tries to educate and you and show you the reason why certain positions exist and the logic behind them to make you analyze the more accurate line of thinking we all should have about common misconceptions or fatal errors we might have regarding many bible topics that we have carried over the years either by ignorance or tradition.
Yes there will be answers given by him on which you may not fully agree or wont agree at all depending on your Christian background, I don't think he is 100% right on all of them but I don't believe he is 99% wrong either and that's good since you will learn more about why others think the way they do and the logic behind it, the book covers lots of everyday questions we all had/have/will have so I personally find it very helpful, very complete, very educational and highly recommended to anybody in the body of Christ who wants to grow in knowledge of the word of God.
    Thank you,
    JC Sancho
    Lots of topics covered
Some of his answers are good, others were poor. Interesting read though. interesting read though.
