Amazing!

When I was done with this book, I was numb, speechless, emotional...What Tyler has been through as a police officer is unimaginable. Thank you, Tyler, for sharing yours, and the other officers story. And baby Lily! What a miraculous event! The Cookeville story....what a blessing. I'm literally speachless. I'll have to come back and update this review when I find my words again.

I thought this book would tell the story of the accident in greater detail. But they tell it to you right away and to be honest, I have no idea what happens after that.

God hears

I loved hearing how God heard prayers on one side of the planet in what seems an impossible, hopeless situation and answers those prayers by touching and moving someone from the other side of the planet. Even when it was just to comfort His faithful hurting.

This little book can help if you feel your life is out of control. Honestly. Especially if you are caregiver.

I'm a type A personality and beginning to let it control my health and mindset. This is a small book; narrated by Meyers herself ( only way to listen to her book). You don't have to be bible thumper or know much about the bible. We are faced with many decisions a day even in retirement! So many things to manage especially if spouse ill. Just listen with open mind early in morning. This is 2nd amazing book of hers that's helped/educated me that I don't have to handle everything at once everyday. I read historical fiction mostly, good international spy stories, anything but religious self help books. But her books are different. Yes they sometimes get a little too circus spiritual in nature but just overlook those small episodes and hear her common sense message that we are not alone and do not have to kill ourselves physically & mentally by taking on the problems of our lives & this crazy world alone. critical book for all Christians

I read it on Kindle the first time, and the 1651 language is slow going, but virtually every sentence is pure gold for the believer. Listening to it on audio book was even better. Derek's British accent is a perfect fit and adds a pleasant nuance. His reading is excellent, and I got even more out of the book listening to it. I look forward to going through it many more times in the coming years.

Discontentedness is at an all time high in our modern era, and Christians are struggling with it as much as secular folks. This book provides a solid theological set of reasons why that occurs, and the solutions. It is rock solid doctrinally, and inspires an honest and critical look inward at our true motivations and thought processes. You will be challenged.

Very Content with the performance.

This is a fantastic book, very difficult to apply but ought to be sought after by those who call themselves Christians.

Great counsel and encouragement

A Puritan classic full of heart and meaty reality. It is so easy to be discontent especially when we will not face our sin and weakness. What a helpful and compassionate book this is. I enjoyed the quaint illustrations, particularly about children, from a man who clearly loved his family and congregation. Highly recommended.

Incredible book

Andy Stanley is an awesome speaker. His skills have certainly translated into his writing. Through this book, he uses his skills to help us see how God wants us to follow His word in our life at home and at work. There are many real life examples and situations which we all can relate to in one form or another.

If you are struggling to find more time at home, if you'd like to know how to cut back at work and feel okay about it, pick up this book!

The recording and editing was well produced and the narrator did an excellent job reading and emphasizing points Andy would've made himself.

I think this is a must read for every Christian

I think this is a timely read nowadays because the Church ihas misplaced it's focus from God to the benefits of God, i.e. what can I get out of the Church rather than what can I do think show my love God in the Church.

Not a light read!

This is a classic, and quite an enlightening read. However, it's not a light read, and I kept falling asleep mid-chapter when I listened last thing before bed! I recommend listening at a time when you can be quite attentive, especially as the narrator's tone is at best, calm and rather 'sing-song', or at worst, monotonous.

great for esoteric students

I am an esoteric Christian and I spend a lot of my time reading books related to that realm. This book is written by a mainstream Jesus scholar, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to check in with the mainstream, in order to make sure I hadn't gone off the deep end. What I found in this book was more than I could have hoped for. The first few chapters were a little slow for me because they are dedicated to gradually introducing the radical ideas of the later chapters. The author is very gentle with those who may be reading from a fundamentalist POV. However, by the end we have firmly established that Jesus was mystic and revolutionary, the two critical aspects of the Real Jesus that have only been known to those in more esoteric traditions. Read masterfully.

Missing Marcus

I love the "voice" of Marcus Borg found in his books, and he clearly trusted this narrator. His gentle yet determined and scholarly picture of Jesus, before and after Easter, solidifies and clarifies my own Christianity. I am grateful to have his books. I miss his kind voice.

This is a short live presentation, NOT an audiobook as marketed. I'm assuming the book has more information not contained in this presentation. I expect an audiobook to be a reading of the book, not a shortened version of the highlights of the book. I'm disappointed.

The book really helped me a lot. Was hoping to listen to the book, but this was a recorded sermon. The sermon was good. However, just not what I was expecting to hear when purchasing. I thought this would be a reading of the book... which I've been waiting for for years. If anyone knows how to get the reading of the book, please let me know.
