An excellent insight into Guilliman

This is what I had hoped all of the books in the Primarch series would be like. One walk away with a much better understanding of how Guilliman thinks & feels about himself, his Legion, the Emperor & the Great Crusade.

The story itself is good, if anti-climactic. This feels like the TV show Lost if the Ultramarines were there. It is engaging, mysterious, & perfect for illustrating the Primarch.

The narration is adequate. The whole book is just Ultramarines speaking, so very little variation is speech, but that is appropriate. Me. Longworth is perfectly fine, if unmemorable.

Gather round ye sons of Russ

As fine an audiobook as it gets. The author brings illumination to one of the great stories of the Legion and chapters history. both Russ and the Lion are given Great Character and the proper respect they deserve. the narrator is fantastic and could not be better.

Another great book by this author with equally brilliant narration from Jonathon Keeble. Highly recommended.

Once it got going...

While I had a hard time getting into it at the start, once I did get into the story, I was completely and utterly sucked in. Great story!

Good Titan Action

While I wouldn't qualify this as an excellent book it was still well written and had good action sequences of Titans blowing each other apart. Which is what I was looking for. So I was well satisfied.

This is a WOW.

This author Tori L. Harris is something else and is every space sci-fi junkie's dream. The books in this series just leave you guessing and thinking they will be predictable moments and yet go to a direction you want but not on the path you would assume which is wonderful.

Jeffrey Kafer's performance is damn near perfect that you really forget that hes even there. This is a goal that all narrators should desire to really make you drift off into the fantasy of the author's book.

WOW, really wow!!

Exceptional Series

Earth is on the move and set to become the dominant regional power and then and old visitor shows up, the Grays. Looking forward to the next installment.

The story line continues to move at a great pace. Loved the ending...can't wait for book 5!

My complaint is the same as with Richard Fox books, NOW I have to wait for the next one can't these guys write any faster? Well once you are done you can read his while you wait for the next book, ....If you have finished the rest of the series and like them this will on par and You will enjoy it also

I often rate high

Because I carefully pick my books. I am a fan of military sci-fi books and while the genre is diverse it can also become repetitive... This series is a classic example of core scifi and good old fashioned story telling.

this series just keeps getting better

this is a wicked series and just keeps building in excitement and suspense. also the narration is probably the best I've heard and incredibly captivating. I don't like rating things to high do too the water down effect but this book gets a 5 out of 5 with out question.

Very solid episode. Really advances the story.

There was a lot of adventure and surprises in this episode. one of my favorites in this series.

Its a good one...I would have liked more range in the narration...but its still really enjoyable!!!

** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ** Treena returns to Nora and just wants to make things better...but with the current emperor..its not going to happen...people are getting ill in other settlements..there is conspiracy all around them..and no one takes Treena seriously..she will have to literally fight for the people to make things right, flee her home and start anew....but to her it was all worth it!! Great series...I recommend if you like dystopic YA!! I enjoyed all the books in the series very much!!!

Wonderful ending to a great series

I loved getting to listen to the conclusion of this series and yet I'm sad to leave all the characters behind. I loved bringing Chan and Maizel back into the main story. It was great hearing about what they had been doing and what their part in the fight for freedom was. Hearing about all the drama between Treena and Vance and all their excitement throughout the story was amazing. Between Rebecca's words and Stacey's voice I was on the edge of my seat and loving every minute of it. Yes there were some sad parts, but it was still a wonderful book that I couldn't get enough of. I'm a bit sad to leave the Numbers World behind, but I am happy to have found out everything.

Author shows glimmer

I really regret buying a second rate story even despite Boyett's best efforts. I do believe that Mr Barlett will gain a realistic understanding of combat dialog as he achieves maturity. Scott keep swinging man!

Fast paced action SciFi

Did Mark Boyett do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Mark Boyer did a good job distinguishing between characters. I had no trouble following his narration.

Any additional comments?

This story is set in the same universe as The Ixan Prophecies books but, not having read any of these or any of Scott Bartlett's other books, I was at a slight disadvantage in understanding the politics involved. The previous books would have helped me to understand what was driving the main characters too. I would suggest even reading some of the comprehensive reviews before starting on the recording. It's not like a book where there is lots of information giving settings etc on the cover. It took me a while to warm to the main characters, Gabe, Jake, and Lisa. I think there could be more finesse with rendering these characters. E.g. Gabe was too dark, Jake was too gung-ho, Lisa was too naive.

That said, I finally got on board with them as the storyline progressed and wanted to know how everything would go for them. The jumping between the Gabe-Jake story on Eresos and the Lisa-Tessa-Andy story on Alex gives a break from the violent fighting by introducing an intriguing involvement with a different type of quarto. Not quite friendly aliens but certainly not the same as the Eresos variety. So, where will this go? Certainly plenty of action and I am waiting for what happens next.

What did you like best about this story?

Powered is in the same Universe as The Ixan Prophecies, but is not a direct sequel to it as such. It follows the Darkstream Tech Users who fled the galaxy after being defeated by Captain Keyes, and what happened to them.

They have settled a system that they have named the Steele System with a couple of planets. One of them is almost Earth like, and is very pleasant.
