What would you do if you found yourself locked in an underground lab with a murderous alien hunting you? Melissa Allen and her new friends know exactly how it feels. With no help from the outside and time running out, it's up to Melissa to keep herself and the other teens safe. How can she do that when she's not sure who she can trust? Someone in the lab helped that alien escape. Someone human.

Whaddayamean, "Other people who saved the world?"
Melissa Allen is a hero--she saved the world from monstrous insect-people who killed everyone within hundreds of miles of her home town, and she did it with only a baseball bat. AND she's recovering from severe schizophrenia and a psychotic break, so first she had to figure out if it was actually happening. So she's pretty awesome. And, it turns out, she's not alone!
In this book, Melissa meets several other young people who've also saved the world from invasions. Apparently Earth's popular for some reason. Each of these unlikely heroes has their own issues: agoraphobia, claustrophobia, and PLENTY of PTSD. Seeing people around you slaughtered by creatures Man was not meant to know has that effect.
Well, the government's trying to figure out if these unusual heroes have something in common in a fortress-like underground lab complex. I'll leave it up to the title of the book to suggest how that works out.
Melissa is a fantastic hero. She's wildly imperfect and well aware of it, and any one of her problems could ruin someone's life. And yet she fights. And she wins. And she LEADS. And she's not the only character in the book with intriguing complexity. Part of what makes the horror in the Melissa Allen books hard to read is that the characters are well-realized--most of them could star in their own books. Pity a lot of them will never get the chance.
Jennifer Brozek pulled me along with solid descriptions, characters both interesting and genre-savvy, and difficult problems for them to overcome.Never Let Me Leave is a strong mid-point to a strong series--I'm very excited to read the finale.
Exciting, Awesome Characters and Story. I loved it!
Never Let Me Leave, the second book in Jennifer Brozekâs Melissa Allen trilogy was stunning! I enjoyed it as much as the first and I canât wait for the third. Melissa, in the first book, survived an alien takeover of South Dakoda because of her unusual brain chemistry. Now, sheâs in a lab for some tests, but thereâs a different kind of alien being held there.
Melissa meets Adam, Ian, Sean and Carrie. Adam was created and raised in a lab. He is genetically perfect. Carrie is an orphan hacker. Ian survived a different kind of alien attack and captured the one being held at this lab. Sean survived yet another different kind of alien attack that slaughtered his family at sea. At this point, Iâm intrigued to find out whatâs going on with these aliens and alarmed at their diversity. By the end of the book, I was delighted with the plot and the aliensâ diabolical cleverness.
The action ramped up fast and was filled with nail biting excitement. By the end, I didnât stop but bought the third book, because I had to find out what would happen next to Melissa. Sheâs a character that will forever stay with me and I have to thank Ms.

    Publisher's Summary:
Clinical psychologist and Georgetown University PhD research student Joey "G" Weston has a passion for Oneirology - the study and analysis of dreams. But that passion proves to be a doubled-edged sword when word gets out that G has discovered and demonstrated the ability to consciously manipulate and freely move about in his dreams.
Things heat up as news of his abilities goes viral and entices various governmental agencies to pursue him in an attempt to exploit him...or eliminate him altogether. G quickly discovers the power, tenacity, and unfettered reach of the US Government as he is sequestered by one agency, only to be rescued by yet another, in a quest to validate, test, and exploit his abilities - all in the interest of national security and covert advantage.
G eventually finds that he is not the only one who possesses the ability to travel about and manipulate his dreams when he continues to cross paths with one man who seems to be aware of G's presence while dreaming. The two share glancing encounters at first but eventually confront each other in the alter-conscious domain. G discovers the man to be none other than Khalid Abdul-Hakim, the world's most wanted terrorist. Hakim is none too happy that he has been discovered and is driven to eliminate the one man who can track his movements and thwart his motivations.
In a world where nothing is as it first appears, this clandestine novel brings both reality and alter-reality together in support of parallel storylines that merge into a fascinating ending that leads G to a final encounter with Hakim where he discovers how to rid the world of the elusive terrorist mastermind inside the dream state.

4.5* Great action story, narration and production
When we listen to an audio book we miss out on any illustrations a book may have, thus when an audio book takes advantage of sound or music bits between chapters, or to emphasize a change in events, the listener gets a bonus. This book is nicely produced, using sound sparely and appropriately to accentuate the experience. It reminded me of my most favorite "production" audio book, Koban 1, and in looking up what the narrator has previously done, there is . . . .Koban 1! This audio book has less of the sound effects put into Koban 1, but the same attention to detail shows.
The action and adventure type of story is probably for people who like alphabet agencies, ex-military contractor characters that bend rules, air pilot extractions in the nick-of-time, and attractive women whose assets are dutifully described in detail, and, of course . . . a liberal use of acronyms and military dude jargon and banter. Despite all that stereotypical stuff, this story (which admittedly had a slow and lackluster start) was very interesting and even had some exciting parts that got my rapt attention to see what would happen next, and who would survive.
The usage of the paranormal is very interesting, although not clearly sticking to definitions - so what was going on in this story? Some combination of lucid dreaming, out of body exploration, teleportation, telepathy, and even materialization.
My only wish is that the characters were just a little more fleshed out - they are somewhere between 2-D and 3-D.

    Pulp Poetry
This audiobook is a rare gem. Written in the 80's, this New York City cop novel is tale of flawed and misfit cops; a pulp crime novel that mirrors the feel and era of Thomas Wolfe's The Bonfire of the Vanities. P.J Olchan does a great job bringing it all to life.
    Proud daughter
My father Tom Philbin wrote Precient Siberia back in the 1980's. I listened to this audio version (thank you Sue Media) and was amazed.
Happy, sad, suspensful and gritty. Precient Siberia has it all.
Tom Philbin passed away in 2014, but his legacy lives on.
an exciting story with well developed characters.

Jack Sparks died while writing this book. This is the account of his final days.
In 2014, Jack Sparks - the controversial pop culture journalist - died in mysterious circumstances. To his fans, Jack was a fearless rebel; to his detractors, he was a talentless hack. Either way, his death came as a shock to everyone.
It was no secret that Jack had been researching the occult for his new book. He'd already triggered a furious Twitter storm by mocking an exorcism he witnessed in rural Italy. Then there was that video: 40 seconds of chilling footage that Jack repeatedly claimed was not of his making, yet it was posted from his own YouTube account.
Nobody knew what happened to Jack in the days that followed - until now. This book, compiled from the files found after his death, reveals the chilling details of Jack's final hours. Listen and decide for yourself what really happened to the notorious Jack Sparks - in this razor-sharp tale about the dangers of mocking what you don't believe....

"Original, clever, scary and funny.... Jack Sparks manages all that and more. It kept me gripped and guessing from page one." (Rebecca Levene, author of The Hollow Gods series)

    Don't miss!
One of the best horror stories I've read in years! I look forward to reading more from this author. fantastic narration.
    A 21st Century devil
I really relished the idea of an update of The Exorcist for the 21st Century and the opening chapters of this book were genuinely scary and hugely promising. Unfortunately the tension more or less disappeared with the introduction of some fairly unbelievable comic book type characters and a plot that lost its way and never really got back on track. There was some good use of modern day social media, especially You Tube, and the egotistical character of Jack Sparks had a ring of authenticity, but this was let down by a confusing storyline and no real sense of what this book is all about. Overall I was disappointed, but it was an entertaining listen so not a complete waste of time.
    Don't waste your money
Hated the narration, reader was unable to correctly pronounce several words.

The girl with a clock for a heart
Gripping suspense from page 1 ...and as always superbly written by the author
Very well narrated however a few different voices would have enhanced the read.
    Weak, sponsored by Phillip Morris?
Not really plausible for me. Bit of a struggle to get into, quite good through the middle, weak towards the end.
Too many smoking references, made me wheeze to think of it, and knowing the protagonist stopped for a smoke adds nothing to the story.
    enjoyed it
the story is good the narrator however isn't good at female voice change some times its couldn't follow who was saying what spoiled it for me
