Have you ever found yourself afraid to get your hopes up? You want to feel excitement and believe something good is coming for you, but fear creeps in and robs you of hope. Today we are going to address the need to get your hopes up! Joining me in the conversation is my dear friend, Alison Wallwork.
Alison is a wife, mom, author, speaker, and my personal pastor. She and her husband have been doing ministry for over 20 years, and together they have 4 boys aged 11-17. Alison enjoys speaking at Women’s Ministry events, conferences, retreats, church services, seminars, or other special functions.
She speaks with passion, transparency, conviction, and a love for the Word of God as she inspires and encourages others to seek God in their everyday lives.
Key Takeaways:
Together we examine why we are so afraid to get our hopes up. The fear of disappointment and failure are often the culprit.
Why we grasp at control – thinking we can manipulate the outcome when we truly aren't in control at all.
The importance of not passing our wounds on to our children. We can project our fear of getting our hopes up onto our kids and rob them of joy.
The importance of anchoring ourselves in God. When our hope is anchored in the right source we don't have to worry about trusting the outcome to fulfill our hope.
Allowing ourselves to feel fear, but not allowing it to be the loudest voice in our lives!
