Have you ever felt the relentless pressure to be constantly productive?
That was my struggle when pneumonia hit me hard, a tale filled with severe back pain, fatigue, and shortness of breath that I'll share in this episode.
The process of falling ill and the journey to recovery wasn't just about fighting the sickness; it was a battle of balancing work, personal goals, and health. I learned the hard way that the human body is not invincible; it needs time to rest and heal.
Despite my desire to keep the wheels of productivity turning, I had to learn the art of slowing down, and how my inability to do so resulted in a health scare that put me in the hospital.
This episode is a testament to the power of consistency and how it influences success. I've learned you're already doing better than you think if you're consistently working towards a goal. So join me as we navigate through this story of pain, resilience, and self-realization.

Rob Jones - a former Marine Corps combat engineer, but also an endurance athlete and a Bronze medal-winning Paralympian. Rob's journey doesn't end there. After losing both legs above the knee to an IED in Afghanistan, he defied the odds by cycling across the country and running 31 marathons back-to-back, all with a vision to inspire and lead.
Rob's story is a lesson in resiliency and the power of the human spirit. As he takes us through his early years on a farm, he shares how his strong work ethic and disciplined mindset were shaped, qualities that later became his pillars in the Marine Corps. Listen closely as Rob opens up about his most challenging moments and how his instinctual, selfless acts were a testament to his unyielding purpose. With every struggle, Rob's inspiring perspective on life shines through, making this podcast episode a masterclass in overcoming adversity.
In the latter part of our discussion, we delve into Rob's transition from recovery to becoming an extraordinary endurance athlete. His journey from the 2012 Paralympics to tackling a cross-country cycle and marathons is a testament to his astounding determination and sheer mental strength. Rob also imparts wisdom on the importance of breaking down seemingly impossible tasks into achievable goals, a strategy that continues to fuel his pursuits. Rob's valuable lessons on selflessness, leadership, gratitude, and fatherhood are why I started this podcast.

Ever thought about running a marathon? Ever dismissed the thought because you believed that running is only for 'runners'? Join me as I share my personal journey towards running a sub-three marathon in February, and how it's become a tool for self-discovery and personal growth.
You'll also hear the inspiring story of JT Conover, who started with a quarter mile a day and now runs longer distances, proving running is indeed for everyone. (kind of like Fast & Furious)
Running isn't a walk in the park - it all starts with putting one foot in front of the other, then suddenly, you're confronting your limits and discovering new potentials. I'll share how from starting small, consistent efforts yielded amazing progress.
I cover examples from people like Nick Bare, a CEO and fitness influencer, who once vowed never to run again. But guess what? Today, he's set to run the Last Man Standing Race, an ultra marathon in Maine. If he can, so can you.
Not only is running a physical feat, but it's also a mental battle. It teaches resilience and endurance in the face of life's challenges. I also discuss the importance of listening to your body and taking a step back when necessary to avoid injury. Let's do what most people aren't willing to do. Let's run!

It's time to Get After It – navigating through fear and turning it into a catalyst for success can be a challenging journey. However, today, we're pulling back the curtain on this powerful realm, sharing how we've dared greatly, failed, and bounced back with renewed determination. This conversation will provide you with insights on consistency, the power of Theodore Roosevelt's words, and how striving for the things we fear can alter our lives.
There is a genuine transformation that comes from embracing struggle, and its effects on personal growth. I discuss how physical pursuits keep me grounded and help me understand life's multifaceted complexities.
I talk about the value of support systems, and how being transparent about the sacrifices needed for success can become an integral part of the journey. I also share my personal experience of starting a podcast, the balancing act it entails, and how I learned to set priorities amidst numerous options.
You can do more than you think you can. The first step is to start. Never let fear decide the outcome of your life.

Wassup everybody? I'm back – as a runner training for an upcoming marathon, I've embarked on a journey of self-discovery and growth. I've recently tied the knot, started a new job, and I'm excited to share my personal stories of progress and perseverance with you all to inspire you to challenge yourselves as well.
I'm captivated by the story of David Goggins, from his book "Never Finished", which perfectly encapsulates these concepts. Plus, I go into the significance of having a solid support system that fuels your ambitions. As someone who's had the privilege of being surrounded by inspirational people, I can't overstate the importance of this network.

I've been reading a lot. Most recently about David Goggins, a man who rose from a difficult childhood to become a Navy SEAL and an ultra-marathon runner.
It's a story of perpetual self-improvement that will motivate you to question your own boundaries and strive for new heights. We'll share insights from his book 'Never Finished' and discuss how he commits to the pursuit of self-belief every single day.
The journey doesn't stop there. We also discuss the fleeting nature of success, referencing popular TV shows 'The Suite Life of Zack and Cody' and 'iCarly', to demonstrate that success isn't permanent.
I delve into the philosophy of never resting on your laurels, and the importance of taking control of your life. Staying true to yourself, making hard decisions, and not fearing the disappointment of others is the key to truly living.
