Unlike most podcasts, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work on the day after July 4, even though it’s a national holiday. We imagine a world where the only explosions in wars are fireworks, that don’t destroy, but entertain. And while we celebrate America’s independence, we concede that if we had lost the Revolutionary War, we would have been like Canada. Which wouldn’t have been a bad Plan B.

If Tom and Scott recorded one podcast a week for 15 months, this would be our 60th episode. Instead, after doing our show seven days a week and now five days a week, we’ve reached our 400th episode. How many tenants does it take to screw in a light bulb? In Scott’s case, none. He just calls the maintenance office. But now Scott decides it’s time to start on the road to becoming a Mr. Fix-It.

We would take ranked choice voting one step further and have people vote for the character traits they like about each candidate, and then use a gene editing tool to create a person with all of those qualities.

Tom and Scott are proud to be tourists in their own city. We gawk at great architecture and giant skyscrapers. We love to be around other tourists because they’re always in a good mood and thrilled to be where they are. Like us.

One of the upsides of NYC not being fully back is the lack of cars driving on side streets. So you don’t have to wait for the walk sign, unless there’s a young family with kids waiting to cross, and you want to set a good example.

Are gun cliches stopping us from having the gun control this country needs? Let’s drop the tired and inaccurate cliches like, “I’m under the gun.” If you’re under it, you have nothing to worry about. Let’s use common sense by eliminating gun cliches.
